Absolutely bouncing good old daze😅😅😅😮
Thanks everyone for sharing the history and feelings of Sasha & John Digweed. I'm a newby to this world and appreciate the internet for archiving all the music and history. Thank you.
My story: working as a Lifeguard, 1998, a lady gave me a 3 CD pack, said she got it for her grandson. He didn't like it. She knew I love that sort of music, asked if I care to play it through the swimming pool's speakers, which obviously went without saying. This was the 1st time I have ever listened to it.
This was twenty years ago.
She never got the CD back.
My copy went walk about...
Where was a lifeguard?
I was a lifeguard at butlins 1991..
Does anyone else think that this Collection puts the new shit to shame? I do. Thank God I raised my kids on this. They laugh at the crap their friends listen to.
i'll second that Sheri
Everything that came after it, bar the Northern Exposure releases, paled in comparison.
NICE Sheri M!! :)
How many of you saw Sasha and Digweed at Shelley's Stoke back in the early 90's? Or the Freetown with Pete Bromley, and Kelvin Andrews?
These guys were the bees' knees, and still are. And I mean all four, and then some.
Absolutely, nothing comes close to this or Northern Exposure... Hell, nothing come close to Sasha & Digweed :)
The Holy Grail of compilations....
That wooohohoooo at 29mins and 59 secs gets me every single time. . work your body!!!
After so many years (then on my twenties and now on my fifties) , every so often I feel the need to go back in time... I turn off the ligths and play the whole mix while having some red wine and still the same feeling. I LOVE IT !!!
Same here! You have impeccable taste. Cheers!
The memories, mixmag, everything!!
And here we are, again. It's now 2020 and I'm listening to this seminal piece of House Music history yet again. 26 years have passed since its release. Wow! It just never gets old. In fact, it fits into my life just as it did before, making me smile, making me feel good inside. It makes me want to be a better person, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God made me phunky and I'm glad He blessed me this way.
We wee off the grid in NE Texas. The closest place would have been Dallas or Shreveport. No UA-cam, no bandwidth, no AirPlay on the radio or MTV, no fucking way you’re getting your money back! It was dry as the Sahara where we were. This, I would have been ecstatic about. So, I missed the fist go-a-round, but I’m here now, silver hair and all, looking looking like Bourne, I know exactly what’s up.
So true my friend I'm 48 love & miss crazy nights I had, sounds now are shite every thing shite. Old skool respect from old disco hippy└|∵|┐♪♪┌|∵|┘♪ (✷‿✷)😋🎵😇✌️god bless stay safe😜✌️

At the age of 47, I still have the original, double CD in my drawer.
One can waste ages looking to improve on this, and seldom will anything compare. As a 4 time Ibiza veteran, this is: house Genesis.
This, THIS, is where Ibiza begins.
3 cds
I am 64 mate & I am still banging these out as my neighbours will testify!, My studio monitor speakers don't mess about with their 12" main drivers.
20 years on and I still get the shivers down my neck listening to this...for all of us who were lucky enough to experience the scene back in the day...for all of us that used to chant "just one more..." at the end of every set...take me back please!
I experienced the Bay Area scene (San Francisco, CA) from '91 - 2000. Talk about epic! I was 21 in 1991, so my party years were absolutely awesome.
A friend of mine put this on the CD player on the way up to a party back then. Forget copying it, I went and got my own. Still have it too.
7am, lights come up, party goers chanting "just one more", applause at the end.
@@bronxborn70 I was also 21 and partying in the SF club scene from 1988 (when I was 18 and using a fake ID to get into City Nights and Kit Cat Club) up through the early 2000's. We probably were at the same place at one point in time. LOL!
I get shivers and HIGH flying spirits...everything! Boy, does it take me back and most definitely takes me there...God is DJ....
@bronxborn70 I wouldn't trade them for the world. Are you catching the dynamic duo in the States soon? I am sooo trying to swing it...not sure if getting up on the speakers will be as easy as it used to be! Love to all! Ain't Nothing But a Party Going On! X
..and here I am again..I can never get enough of this collection..I get lost in my memories and let the music infuse my soul :)
We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. We are the movers and shakers, of the world forever it seems...
Would never know this is from 1994 even listening now. Stands the test of time, but you can say that about everything Sasha and Digweed have done.
I was 17 years old when I bought the double tape pack... found it in an old box last night and had to listen to it ... it sounds even better aged 40!!! My hairs are standing on end remembering the great times and buzz! I wouldn't change a thing!!! Awesomeness OVERLOAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never forget those times!!!!! xxxxxx
Still listening all these yrs later awesome mix
Never got ‘seriously ‘ into techno. But my boy had a good collection. Digweed, Sasha, and Dave Ralph. I knew that these dudes were all I needed to hear. Respect to those guys
This is house or progressive house if you wanted to pigeonhole it Howard....but yeah bang on mate otherwise ;)
Uploaded this a year ago today and nearly 30,000 views! just goes to show what a timeless mix this is….and nearly 20 years after it was released…still going strong :)
Bought these 3xCD when they came out mate. Timeless, Brilliant , Fantastic, blah, blah ,blah. Irreplaceable. Was fortunate enough, (and young enough!) to witness both in full flow at Shelley's (where Amnesia started) and earlier, maybe 1989-90, at Introspectictive/Entropy, Before all that hard house shit came to the fore. Enjoy mate...#
coopa zoid Wow same here..I got my original copy out the other day..I too was lucky and young enough to witness in full flow at Introspective in Longton :)
Did you carry on going when it became Entropy?
coopa zoid Yes mate for a while but I had to cut my raving days a bit short as I got pregnant..I carried em on afterwards but clubs weren't the same :)
You can't beat pure class mate. this takes me back every time i listen to it, thanks for the upload i'd lost my copy moving house.
7 years ago today I uploaded this and it currently stands at 284,481 views for a mix that is now 26 years old and for me is still the holy grail 😊👍
Thanks for the upload mate!
@@Gittoplo You're welcome mate!
@@drubber007 thanks for the upload mate. I still have the original CD aswell as many other sahha and digweed discs. These will never be beaten on how it all started. One of my favourites is the qat collection series which I also have on CD👍
Legend 😊 🙌😎
I bought this when it first came out in 1994. I still have the battered old box of 3 CDs!
By far the best dj mix/compilation ever made. Like a symphony of all the tracks included in it. Absolute perfection. This is why I've had two decades of respect for Mr Digweed
On the back of the cd set it says a big thank you to the welsh lads who came up to Mansfield every Saturday to
have a top night out, I was one of the welsh lads who loved this place dancing all night til 7 in the morning,
they used to come around with trays of oranges for us to eat about 5 in the morning amazing place and people
Wow love it bruver.x
While living in Tampa, Florida, I bought this 3 CD 💿 set way back in 1994. I still love and play it evermore 🐚🐬🐊🦜🌴💙🧡💚.
What can I say.......apart from pure genius from 2 of the best DJs ever to have graced the decks...I am speechless, this masterpiece is 1 of the greatest of all time...and I am grateful to have lived in this era.....world class guys, world clas...!!!...
I miss the days...
I worked in ibiza when this was released. Still listen to it now and gives me goosebumps like it did back then. The days in Space were unreal...happy times.
I was so lucky being a student in Derby at the time. I then moved to NYC , they took up a residency at Twilo. Happy Days!!!🎉🎉🎉
Ah man, would love to have seen them play at the Twilo.
Big up to all the Swansea lads who used to travel to mansfield
We were there most saturdays totally wasted
Allways let us in no fucking around top crowd
Coming around at 5am with cut oranges on a tray for the crowd
Top top times with lovely friendly people aprox 1993 - 1995
Venue 44 (Renaissance), Mansfield. Sadly now a carpark! 😢
Please allow me to add my 2 pence worth to the comments..
I purchased this cassette when it came out, I was 27 and on it. At the point in my life, it was, and still is to this day (2018) the most uplifting album I own. I listen to it often. I never get bored or tired of listening to it. My son was 4 at the time, he is now 27. It is his all time favourite album, he has it blaring in his car and at home. This goes to show that this classic is a timeless favourite for all generations. I defy anyone not to be immersed in this beautiful music which was so elegantly mixed.
It's funny listening 2 a breeder listening 2 this ! And his son! Oh my funking gosh, I think I have faith in humanity at last! Miles fm harrogate
RESPECT! !
I was 25 when this came out. My younger brother was 8. He still listens to it now as well as his favourite renaissance no.2 the mix.,he says the same. The best music he has ever heard!. I loved the club as well. Went there most weekends. Bro would pester me to tell him what it was like. Happy, happy times.
@@pauljones620 This music will go to the grave with me. I've had an entire weekend listening to this. I've had a new sound system and things are good, real good.

This is THE BEST album EVERrrrrr...was 18 when this was first relesed..Many, many top nights had listening/dancing to this🕊🕊🕊Still listening to it now but my dancing is powered purely on the adrenalin of memories & appreciation🔥🔥🔥🔥💜💙💚💛🧡❤🙌🏽
Had many very happy times listening to this when we were clubbing and hanging in Florida . Miss that shit

It'll be 30 years on the 14th October to be exact 😊🙌🏻
21 years old today. TWENTY ONE YEARS OLD :) Timeless classic, still sounds awesome!
+Jon Mears its bliss
I was a 19 when this came out an it's been in my heart all the way, I still listen to it every other month an it still has the power to cover me in goosebumps....also I have rammed this in people's ears along the way only for them to fall in love as well, I fuckin love it peace from Glasgow....
a wee bit old to reply but was thinking the same thing people who have not heard this don't know what they are missing.......
Errrm perfection isn't always beautiful, except when it comes to this particular piece of eyebrow lickin marvellousness.
just come across this long lost memory of an album... remember going to buy this and everyone borrowing it and it never came bk... Love it
One of my first clubbing memories was seeing Bedrock perform 'For What You Dream Of' live at 'Ripe' at The Yard in Mansfield in 1995. Such a fantastic mix collection. Compares to nothing you hear these days.
The early 90s will always be the golden years of dance music for me. As a teenager I loved hardcore and italo piano house and then along came the beautiful, trance-like sound of progressive house. I still have my original cd of this from 1994 along with other classics such as House of Limbo Vol. 1 & 2, Northern Exposure, Jackpot presents Guerilla plus a load of other tunes. I'm 36 years old now and still love this music just the same as when I first heard it.
Prog may not be that popular nowadays but it will never die. Sasha & Digweed, Leftfield, Justin Robertson, Darren Emerson, Way Out West, Dave Seaman etc. were true champions of this sound. Hopefully the bigroom house shit will die a death soon and we can once again enjoy more high quality house music like this.
big room music is such trash. The production is weak, the sound is weak and cheesy, and it brings out the worst crowds imaginable. Once the EDM bubble bursts things will nest back to the underground and quality music
@@srblondu were right 😂
Absolutely categorically the best set of mix CDs ever made. Bought this when it came out originally and a pleasure to be revisiting it today. The way they make each mix sound like a completely different song and almost impossible to determine where one song starts and the other begins. . magic. This is what mixing was and is all about and why we went along to renaissance events because they gave you something truly special and a really really good time to boot.
SPLOOSH! !!!!!!! When you hear these tunes in your bed, 18th ears later, and you are still flying though your clean, these really THE BEST of the euphoric era!!!
For sure
Never,ever gets Old..
2023 and BOOM
A masterclass never to be surpassed. No question.
This is fucking amazing. It held up so well and it´s still gonna be fire a hundred years from now.
Words cannot describe how timeless this mix is
Pure,utter brilliance
Takes me back.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
I bought this album when it came out, only just realised it's considered a classic, and deservedly so. So good hearing it back again. I'm hoping my 4 year old daughter appreciates it at some point.
Music with one muscle 💪❤ still listening nearly 30 years later
Born in 71 liverpool, old school hip hop shaped my musical tastes, as it has so many genres especially the streetsounds Electro series. Got into house, rave, trance drum n bass. I love all genres of dance and fir me this is probably one of the best mix compilation albums ever.
That's the same path as me mate. Started out on hip hop and then got in to rave till 92 and then house & d&b from 93. Especially the Bukem style :)
You can see where rave, hardcore influenced d n b. More into my dance stuff but like lots idlf different drum n bass. John b, roni sz, moving shadow stuff is pretty good or was!
Definitely mate...it was the next step. Of course there was Jungle in between which I love as well. Still listen/mix it now.
Old skool! Much love!
Listening in prep for their Coachella set this year. My body is ready.
Bought this when it came out and still have it. Still one of my all time favourite CD's.

The listening world of House Music is forever in your debt drubber.
I wish I could describe the whole House thing to those who were not there at the time. Didn't really appreciate at the time that we were part of something magical. But looking back now, well...........
Really enjoyed looking at the flyers too. Some of those line-ups looking back are just amazing.
Think I'll go get my Flux Capacitor and fire up the DeLorean. 90's here I come....

Just pure magical
What is obvious that CD1 kicks ass in this collection by a mile.
Those 3 starter tracks are just magical thanks to Underworld and Leftfield

It does seem that everyone who experienced the magic of the ecstasy fuelled Revolution of club land and subsequent sea change in dance music that was the direct result are just so glad that they were part of it. I couldn't agree more and sadly, what's on offer for youth these days (X factor and 'anti' social media) is the dampest most regressive Squibb ever to hit our shores.. What ticks me off most is that nobody under 35 cares about the mass closure of clubs and pubs this century because they have never had the great fortune to ride such an epic and tumultuous wave of PROGRESS! big love to all those who amassed in motorway service stations before descending on the countless underground parties across the British isles that spawned a million goose bumps and a sense of community, peace and love unparalleled in my 44 years. 1974 we the best year I could imagine to be born in. Thanks lucky stars and commiserations to all millennials who missed the happiest moment of many of our lives. My friendships from that era persist while school and university friends have long ago fizzled into the mists of time. Lucky peeps indeedy
Do not know what to say about this mix. Just a masterpiece.
Sasha and Digweed forever
Soundtrack to my life...still is everytime 👌
This was the 1st cd I ever bought!

I hear something different every time I hear these mixes. Sasha and Digweed are holding up an aural mirror that reflects my very mood. Both of it's time and timeless...
Such a trip.... Im still spinning around, best duet in music history
I have still got all the renaissance sets and listen to them regularly , happy days , wish I could go back and do it all again.......thanks for the upload.
I was 16 when my older brother got this on CD. I loved it! Too young for the clubs at 16 though, a young 16 BTW. That bladerunner tune is awesome. The vocals capture a point in history I think. Not like today's shite.
There is quantity and then there is quality and this is absolute quality

Whatever your preference from the three discs, this was the first ever dance comp and left a legacy that all have followed.
One of the first mass-produced on CD, but no way the first.
