Hello! I have read somewhere that the budget variant of this laptop with nvidia 930 has no support for m2 ssd while the variant with i7 and the 930mx has support for m2 ssd.. do you know if this is true?

use 2.5" SSD to replace the HDD, or use HDD Caddy to put SSD in the DVD Drive. Samsung 870 Evo probably the best 2.5" SSD

Hey, great video! I have an ASUS X556U (it also says X556UA below the barcode in the back), it has a 1TB SATA 2.5" mechanical disk and i want to upgrade it to 480GB SSD, is it possible? Because according to ASUS site it only allows up to 256GB, but maybe it was because when it was manufactured the maximum SSD capacity was 256GB, i don't know. Did you ever try it with an SSD higher than 256GB? Will a 240GB SSD work? Thanks!!!
Yes your system can actually take more than 256gb, mine is running on 512gb

So i only have to switch that HDD with an SSD? The SSD fits perfectly in that HDD mounting frame? Also the connectionport is no problem?
I think it fits, I am planning to upgrade mine, my laptop doesnt have m. 2 so maybe an ssd like this I think its SATA. So first you need to know what type of connctor your laptop has, some mother boards has m.2 some don't 🙂

should I really remove battery before starting? I mean, I watched other people's videos they do not remove it and replace hdd while battery is there.
Well, I replaced my HDD with a new SSD and didn't touch battery. Done it while battery in it's place. Nothing bad happened. Both my SSD and old HDD work properly.
@@blackiedagger682 Well good for you. Because I saw some videos with broken motherboard because of people who had done the same thing that you did. It might be luck your motherboard made it out alive.

X556uq has one more screw. You have to remove top left rubber to find the hidden screw (watch 0.34s)
