Thank you! I’m a frustrated teen having to look after my two year old sister so I want to start teaching those kind of things and it’s really difficult doing it alone, not even knowing what you’re doing- so this helps me SO SO MUCH!
my 2 year old started counting thanks to youu👏🏼 i was trying to figure out what to teach her next since she knows 1 to 20
i realized she didn’t necessarily know how to count quantity
Thank you so much for this, this was so helpful i have a 3 and a half year old daughter who was struggling to count and now i thought her and now she can count to 10
Great helpful~I’ve been teaching younger learners for one year in China, and I will teach the 2 years “one , two ,three.” next week. The video makes me more ideas in how to teaching numbers. Thanks for your sharing.
Thank you for this video! I have just shared it with the parents in my class!
Just found this, trying to teach my 4yo Niece, so cheers for posting 👍
OMG thank you so much for this video! I am stressing to figure out how to teach my students. This is so helpful! Thank you so much!
Awesome tips!
Thanks for empowering other parents. 😊
Thank you! Regards from Guyana, South America
Hi, I know this video is old but I really liked the concept of counting when placing your finger on the object. As I know that some children can even count more than 10 but they are only reciting. I also teach young children and I use lots of resources but never thought of ur technique, as I would place the numbers or objects in-front and recite or sing some rhymes. I will defiantly be using this technique and pass onto other colleagues. 😊
Ok
My son loves your videos and now doing vlog for his progress.. thank you
I LOVE YOUR VIDEO’S I DON’T STOP WATCHING THEM
Love it. Thank you
Hi, when counting things in books I've taught my children to count from left to right, too to bottom - that way they don't miss any thing out.
That's also a good strategy for life, it's best and more efficient to do maths, or anything really, in a logical and systematic way. Doing things in an illogical and unsystematic way means you're always far more likely to count something twice, miss something out and make mistakes, or get confused and things will take longer than they need to. Be systematic in your life!
Thank you so much. It's very helpful for me.
Nice!! Thank you for your sharing.
At the beginning of my journey as a preschool teacher, I was completely astonished when kids counts. Then I've noticed that it's merely a ' reciting process' as you said!
Absolutely! It is important we know the difference and parents can sometimes find this difficult to understand, which is why I wanted to make this video :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Very Helpful.
Iwill try with my kids. Thankyou😍
Wow such a great advise thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰😘😘
Great help for my teaching skills 👌
want more these type of videos..tremendous way of speaking you have.
Brilliant!
Love this
Thank you so much!
thank you, very very useful.
This is too much I got my problem solved thanks a ton
Thank you!
Lot of thanks super and helpful video
Thank you for this instructional video! This is an interesting way to teach counting instead of just making them recite numbers but they don't know what the numbers are for. I'll be using clays to teach the four-year old of my friend.
Yess! I just taught the preschooler today and she counted the popsicle sticks I gave her even without instruction. Omg, thank you so much for the tips. I will make a chart next time so she can start reading numbers
Do you have the link for recognizing numbers when written?
Thank you so much
Oh thanks i will try this with my lil sister when helping her with hw
Thanks for this. I commented on your school tips video earlier about many things including number work. I never considered the differences between counting, reciting and recognising numerals before but now you've said it, it makes more sense really. Charlie can recite numbers to ten (with prompting at number four so he doesn't skip to eight after three) but when we count objects he tends to point to each object in turn but recites the numbers quickly so if there are five blocks he ends up counting it as seven or eight blocks. As soon as you did that in the video I found myself nodding haha. I find myself slowing him down like you said and pausing between each number. And the recognition part, he recognises a few numbers but nothing is consistent and I never thought of everything as separate areas of learning.
thank you!
it really is helpful
Thank you so much as a goofy dad you gave me a better approach to trying to teach my daughter the concept of counting.
Okay... I am having trouble having the child that i am taking care of to recite the numbers 1-10 he always skips numbers even though he recognizes all the numbers... can anyone give me pointers I dont know what else to do.
Hii...very nice videos..plz can u tell how many skills are there in kindergarten. Like fine motor gross motor..jd wants to know total
My kid is turning 3 next month .. so I started to introduce her the numbers upto 10. She knows them now but she counts 7 and then 9.. she is not counting the number 8. I tried so many times but still she is not saying that why is that and how can I teach her?
very useful video mam
I am really having a hard time now. My son is 4 years old now. And i keep on introducing numbers to him for him to identify it by himself
But up untill now he reallt can't. Even 1 to 10. 😢
Love ur videos!
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
👍
Is it normal that my 2yo child can count objects to 14 but can’t recite the numbers to 10?
If you could tell the ideal age to teach this
Good idea, though.
How to teach this to a nonverbal toddler?
