Got the original single in my collection and yes it's one of my favourites. This tune over the years has stood the test of time and is still massive in the Mod Clubs today
Thanks. This is really a special band. Love Vic Briggs here. Driscoll had phenomenal pipes. She was always being touted as a British version of Grace Slick. Cheers.
Coś pięknego. Pamiętam, jak słuchałem Radio Luxemburg. A było to w drugiej połowie lat sześćdziesiątych. To były czasy. To była muzyka. Dzięki za publikację. Pozdrawiam serdecznie
Really something and really new 60s. I dig the psychedelic back projection and lighting too. Even if it is in black and white. Very cool and very groovy. Too bad this band didn't last longer and go further with their music.
Auggie is just fantastic and one of the nicest guys you'll ever talk to. Top of my bucket list would be one more chance to see him! One of the only keyboard players that can match the sheer power of the great guitar masters.
Everyone here looks wasted + this seems like it prefigures prog + glam, soaked with excess + (maybe) doom - but Brian Auger and Julie Discoll are still among us in 2022, making music. Really something else.
Great to see them on video even though they are lip syncing, in case you couldn't tell by the notable absence of amplifiers and even a cord for the bass. That was the usual scenario for bands playing on TV shows back then. Long-time Jools fan, ever since "Open" was released.
@@robmac6508 Live vocals + band backing track was very common in pop music tv around this time...see, f'rinstance, the Small Faces from on Colour Me Pop the year before.
Not to mention the complete lack of a drummer here!!!! :-) Also, the part Brian seems to be playing with his left hand sounds more like it's being made with a Wurlitzer or something sonically, that growling tine sound.
VERAMENTE!!!!!!!!!
What a voice!
AWESOME!!! GREAT VERSION. SHE'S BEAUTIFUL AND BRIAN AUGER.... A GREAT ONE!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, JULIE DRISCOLL w BRIAN AUGER!!!❤
Jessas, Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity waren schon der Hammer, einfach genial... 👌👍😊😇🤩
❤❤❤musica meravigliosa ❤❤❤

Underrated cover of a classic Richie Havens tune. Good stuff.
was wondering where it came from - heard Bob Marley do it
Unequalled just an incredible performance and video.

I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this band until last week.
There’s always more to learn about.
cet formation DRISCOLL AUGER !extraordinaire ......
Man.. This is Rock dude. I never heard this before.
What a beautiful singer lady btw 🔥
You should listen to Frumpy singing it, I prefer it
@@TheVintageKitten both versions are brilliant
Road to Cairo🎉
Don't remember this track ( of course just about everyone remembers wheels on fire ) . Julie Driscoll had a great voice . That Hammond though ! WOW !
Was this on their double album, "Streetnoise?"
Brilliant!
This is da bomb!
So cool. It‘s sooo coool 🫶 yeah
Perfect 10

very good
Grazie TheBluesrocket via Brian Auger & the Trinity
💖🎼🎹🎺 🎸
Superb
I first knew this song in a version by Mr. Bob Marley, entitled 'African Herbman'. This is my first time to hear it this way however.
Excellent

I'm pretty sure Julie Driscoll is singing live to a backing track here.
Beat Club often had full live performances . More often than not . Not this one of course , but the vocals sound live .

@@markclowe Jeez, how could I have not noticed the missing drummer! Wish I'd gotten to see them back in the day.
Just magnificent!!! Gx
Written and performed by Richie Havens. Julie Driscoll's and Brian Auger's performance makes it a classic.
soul voice
Still spin this when I DJ… on vinyl too
If you search UA-cam there is a great version by Warm Dust
Wau!!
Road to Cairo...also good🎉
I prefer the version of Inga Rumpf (Frumpy) because of the beauty of her voice.
Keyboards are amazing as well bass
This is fucking fantastic!
sticks u too the wall. xx
yeaaaaaahHhh

Merci à nouveau Best-Club ✿¸.•'**☆🕺 🎼💖
We can't get back😊
FAB :)
Who is the bass player? He’s amazing.
Dave Ambrose
The entire band was solid. Brian in his recent interview with Claudio (Doctor Mix) talks about the importance of a good rhythm section.
Did musicias play in playback here?
that was intense lol
Bob Marley later adapted this as African Herbsman.
As India
Is that DLT.
cool as fuck xx ynwa xxxx peace ya'll xxx
E.X.E.L.L.
You’d have to be serious to wear sleeves like that
He's as serious as it gets. Full concentration.
Don't think 2020 this is 1969...
Je préfère la version de frumpy
I llke both
:-)
makes me think of brainticket part 1
Yep, it reminds to brainticket... 😄
A fight between dictators and their wanted people
Good performance and this didn't seem playback
Take a fast
See ut, USA is more than 50 independened states
Good version but I prefer the Frumpy version.
Ganesha
Great music. Shame about the moronic introduction. What a bunch of prats those Radio 1 DJ'S were.
Who is that guy? He's clearly a few drinks in ...
Dave Lee Travis...DLT...The Hairy Cornflake....A legend in his own head.
Just bought this single on reissue
Bla bla bla...❤❤❤
I'm 72 now who am I 68 souped up daddy hugh Hefner bio

Das Beste ist Brian Augers Orgelspiel!
Gérard Depardieu on kayboard
Was ok for it's time but that's all . Almost no one liked or remembers this ...
