I'm a Rangers fan but I really enjoyed this video, 1980-1997 was the best time ever to be a hockey fan! So happy my Rangers won the cup in 1994 and I feel for Leafs fans who missed out on their chance the year before. These guys were the best: Gilmour, Gretzky, Messier, Yzerman, Bourque, Leetch etc. today's NHL "stars" pale by comparison.
I was a Bruins/NHL fan since late 1994 until I quit watching and supporting NHL in 2015. Hockey back then was by far entertaining and hockey just plain ass sux compared to hockey back then. Too much speed and skills and less fights and less hits, that’s boring hockey. Gary Bettman just killed the sport I once loved and I wanted him impeached. I do have to agree with the Leafs fans for not penalizing Gretzky for a stick shot to his face and Kerry Fraser cheated then Leafs off. Should’ve been Leafs vs Canadiens and if I was a hockey fan then, I would’ve rooted for the Leafs because I hated the Habs.
That was the year they should have won it all, a TOR/MTL final would have been one people would be talking about for generations. But we all know what happened. F'n Fraser!
Now this is how the Maple Leafs should play with heart with grit passion stand up for one another with a purpose with an edge I mean what the fuck is going on with our team man what the fuck is happening here this is heartbreaking I would make the whole team watch this fucking tape
The question to every Leafs fan in 1993 was "How did they pay tribute? How did every school in Ontario pay tribute to the Leafs 93 playoff run? Did kids skip school to mourn?"
This was the first season I started watching hockey. My brother was a leafs fan so those are the games we watched. I didn’t know I was seeing something so great, and every season after it felt like there wasn’t the same magic. Publicly, there weren’t moments of silence or anything haha. I think all leafs fans just hated Fraser
I knew how it feels. And I agree the Leafs should’ve won the series, but Fraser screwed it up, more like a screwjob he created. This is a perfect example that referees are stupid blindbats, but they are still the worst today ruining games and pissing everybody off.
This is what Grape should've said during the 1993 Finals on HNIC after Ron brought up the Leafs. "President Kennedy. This is a long time ago. President Kennedy was in Dallas havin' a blast with his supporters until... a guy shot him there. Guess what? He's dead! We all mourned! Remember Leafs fans, you shouldn't mourn for your team!"
