@@hindsy3472growing up here 3rd generation my siblings and dad and I never thought we would have a pro team in any sport. Now we are forever on the stanley cup. Well, atleast they have to remove that ring haha.
I've been watching lots of hockey since we joined the league in 2017. Toronto and Montreal seem so deadly serious about hockey. NO FUN INVOLVED AT ALL. the Toronto fans always look like they're at a dentist appt. 😬 These old foundation franchises need to loosen up and enjoy the game again.
Will never get old. I’ll never forget watching this run. I let my beard grow out alongside the boys all through the playoffs . Looked like a caveman by the end. So glad I never had to shave it until after we won the cup💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
So so glad VGK beat the Oilers and E. Kane. The VGK hate for that guy is real ever since his days at San Jose. This playoff series was the real Stanley Cup Final !
No doubt. All the crap that Kane did to them proved beneficial because when Florida came to town and started with their goonery it was laughable! VGK looked at FLA like, "We've seen this before, only they were a lot better at it than you."
Has it been a month already since the coveted Stanley Cup was won by the VGK? Wow! I could keep watching this over and over! Vegas was never a game down in any of the games, they were so dominating in the final!
I have waited 6. Long. Years. 😂 To be fair, we never had our own local sports team before, so everyone saying people from Vegas don't deserve a champion can shut up lol
Mark Stone could never play a game again….he will always be remembered for what he did these playoffs. The guy may have risked his career and long term health to get the Stanley Cup. 1st Captain in franchise history. He led his team to their 1st championship….he will go down in Knights folk lore. He should never have to pay for a meal in Vegas again.
1000% agree with you. He’s my favorite Knight with the misfits close behind him. I have a gold acrylic Stone figurine on a shelf in my room where my VGK shrine is lol. Also got the newspaper the morning after we won the cup and framed it the front page. What a fuckin run
@@joeydrummer7929 Thats cool. Is it a bobblehead or one of those statues/busts they gave away during this past preseason? I collect almost anything i can get my hands on. I have the 4 busts they gave out this past preseason, Stone, Eichs, Smith and coach cassidy. I have almost every single VGK bobblehead ever made. I’m only missing maybe 3 or 4 that i know of, in total i think i have around 70 VGK bobbleheads! And thats just my bobbleheads! One day when i get a place thats big enough I will make a “Knights Den” of sorts. The whole room will be covered in posters, bobbleheads, jerseys, game used sticks or locker room nameplates, random pieces I acquired through Etsy, etc….the boys and I will watch the games in there whenever we can’t make it to the game.
Since day fucking one, went to game five of the final and saw the hardware, magical. After our elimination this year came back, looking like we won’t resign marchessault, hope he gets a statue one day for that Dallas game 2 goal, running his way to a con Smythe baby
In 2022,Vegas was the most injured contender in the NHL,& didnt really get a chance to have much say as my Avalanche won the Cup. And though I dislike them-I deffended Vegas a lot-you cant expect a team that decimated by injuries to truely contend.(2022 Nuggets were in the same boat as the Knights-& as we saw-both teams won last yr with much more injury luck).Last yr-the Avs were the most injured contender in the NHL.(& most injured deffending champ in like 3 decades) Yes,we somehow won the central,& finished as the west 2 seed-but that was a minor miracle-Avs wildly overachieved in the regular season. Realistic fans knew we werent going far-even if we got past Seattle-we probably wouldnt get past Dallas with all the guys we had out(even though analytically we dominated game 7 vs Seattle-but thats just how hockey goes sometimes)...& definitely werent beating the Vegas/Edmonton winner-at least I believed that. This year I honestly hope both teams have relative injury health(we still wont have Landeskog this year-but beyond him)-& the rivalry they developed a few yrs ago could be back in strong force this year. People forget in 2021-when they were in the same "COVID division"-the Avs,& Vegas tied for the presidents trophy-Colorado won on a tiebreaker. Then cuz of the dumb NHL playoff setup-they met round 2. Avs won the 1st 2...Vegas won 4 straight. The Knights were a tougher,& deeper team-physically,& mentally. Both teams were basically healthy,& I truely believe that series-& the lessons Vegas doled out to Colorado-paid dividends & helped the Avs win in 2022. They developed mental toughness from failing in that moment. Some of the players have said the exact same thing. It showed them they had to get tougher-physically...but much more so mentally. I think it could be fascinating this year to see the rivalry now-with both teams having scaled the mountain,& the confidence that teams develop when they become Champions. If we are lucky enough for both teams to stay reasonably healthy,& maybe meet in the playoffs again-it could be an Alltime great series. Hopefully the Western Conference Finals...I could easily see that happening & as somebody who works at Ball arena-thatd be a phenomenal series to watch/work. Could be a very fun time as the Avs are actually NHL favorites by most sports books, but I have seen Vegas as favorites in a few others-which is what Id say for now. If a deffending champ is reasonably intact-they should be favorites til otherwise proven. Just like in the NBA,where our deffending champ Nuggets are consensus favorites. We just pulled off the rarity of winning the NHL,& NBA back2back. And I believe theres a decent chance Ball arena could be hosting the NBA,& NHL Finals this spring. But Vegas is a huge obstacle to that happening. Avs never really got a fair shot to defend their title cuz of injuries-so it could be very interesting if the last 2 Cup champs stay healthy,& meet up in the playoffs. Especially with the recent history,& rivalry theyve already developed with each other. Remember just like Vegas last playoffs-Colorado never trailed in a series in 2022,& matched the 2023 Nuggets with 16-4 playoff run. Vegas had a very similar record in 2023...16-6 I THINK they went...off the top of my head.
I agree with just about everything you said here. I was going crazy last year telling everyone that Vegas struggles were almost ENTIRELY due to injuries . And even with the injuries they still only missed the playoffs by 3 points . I KNEW they’d come out hard this past season and they did. Also funny you defended us to people about our injuries I totally did the same with you guys this year. You guys had pretty much the same season we had last year with all the injuries . I think next year you guys will come out super hot and go far in the playoffs again. I ALSO REALLY wanna see a rematch between our 2 teams healthy. I think our 2 teams are best in the west with Edmonton and Dallas close behind , and Seattle and LA close behind them . I really wanna see us play eachother again in the WCF this coming season. I already KNOW Avs want revenge on us for beating them in 2021, and I think Vegas is such a deep team they have it in them to be repeat champs. Would likely be a 7 game insane series . Here’s to hoping it happens!
Was at game 5 when we sealed it. Unreal experience. I will NEVER forget those moments. Regarding Tkachuck and the comments he made after hitting Jack - Kat Williams said it the best, “Ya shouldn’t been talkin shit.” That Kolessar hit changed the entire Panthers bench. They started to understand in that moment that this Vegas team is purely better than them. Not just skilled players who can run the score up, but a deep roster that is well coached and can play any game you want. This team also endured one of the best teams we have ever seen play in the postseason (Edmonton) and beat them in 6 games in their home stadium.
