Fear of humiliation was a huge hurdle for me at first. I trained hard, worked my ass off, but became overwhelmed by that fear. Finally I realized everyone is scared, we all have our reasons for it, and that it's ok.

@@ShinmenTakezo. First thing is mainly sparring, a lot of it ,and preferably with guys u never spared before. it will boost ur confidence a bit,but don't be cocky , there's ALWAYS something to work on, so keep working on ur game, and when u get comfortable in sparrins, try new things, new skills, techniques, combos... u think will work on the ring . Next u need to work on a backup plan or the basics in shadow boxing so much until it becomes graved on ur mind and body, like Unconscious reaction or ur second nature, so when u get lost or overwhelmed, u just go basic, u do what u have been repeating in the gym hours and hours without hesitation about stuff and just doing instead of thinking.
So yeah, this is what I'm working on rn, hope someone finds it useful

@@coachv3436 I actually don’t even think my comment did it justice dude that was a real issue I didn’t know how to handle and watching your video made me realize that’s just adrenaline I always thought was fear and I was going to lose the fight (street fight, not a box nor am I confrontational actually super passive but I think cause I have a fear of losing)
I didn’t realize that everyone experiences that but pushes through it at times I always thought they were just more confident in their fighting skills but maybe it’s just being able to pass that fear and do what has to be done.
From all the UA-cam videos man I feel this one is like top five in helping me in life just kind of realizing you can do something you just have to stand up and do it before you fill your head up with negative thoughts. Love this video.. my first time sparring I was shaking nervous. A few months later when I recovered from a hamstring injury I was nervous as fuck again... it's a matter of facing/overcoming the first few punches to the face 😅. Hell, I even got dropped when I got back in. And that's when I realized I got nothing to be afraid of or be nervous about. The last time I sparred my hands were flying. Although my ass burned out (need more conditioning) I felt so much better. Coach tells me all the time that it's normal.

I’ve spent about 7 months getting in shape and studying fundamentals and I know I look the part and know the sport. The only part that has delayed me is just being in the actual ring, having that killer/survival mentality and knowing the person across is going to have the same. Mindset training is definitely important and I really took this video to heart💯

I sparred with my brother, and he was hitting hard at me. I was just circling around him. He told me to quit being scared when I can't really help it since it has been so long since I fought someone. Once I felt that first hit to the face, I started to lose my composure. I be practicing my boxing, but when it came to fighting my brother, I forget everything I learn, and my fear starts to get out of control. It's really hard to control this. 😫💀😩

However, I go home from sparring with a sore body and busted up face - nothing extreme, but the expected niggles from boxing - and I can't let go of the thoughts of: are my organs being damaged, am I damaging my brain over time, and the thought of losing brain function or any kind of body function and becoming a vegetable or a burden on my family into the future is what I fear. And I don't know whether I should quit to another sport, or what to do. I don't fear getting hit or knocked out when fighting, I love the fight, getting hit fuels me to train harder...
