Pretty cool that these make a return. They don't seem animated like the original ones do though. I was expecting the bubble to have a bouncing animation and the fire to turn into a fireball.
lol after seeing the 2 sonics trailer i cant wait for this game!!! i enjoyed many sonic games (beleve it or not 06 too) mostly cuz i had some one there to play it with but now looking at this! it looks so fun that i can play it by my self and sill have fun!!! sonic FTW thank seeegaaaa
I just realized that in the years since S3&K, all three shields' abilities have been utilized in other games. Fire Shield: Jump Dash (Homing Attack when it's not locked on) in most games after Sonic Adventure. Water Shield: The Bounce Bracelet from Sonic Adventure 2. Electric Shield: Double Jumping replaced the Jump Dash (though you could still use the Homing Attack) in Sonic Colors. Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe not.
@VerendumProductions If you ask me: Lightning shield: Second jump feels like you go higher then you used to in S3&K. Fire shield: Forward boost effect seems more powerful. Bounce shield: This one obviously makes you go much higher then you used to in S3&K. The first two are alright considering that Classic Sonic isn't supposed to be an exact copy of S3&K, but the bounce shield is clearly overpowered. To be honest I'd rather the physics be more classic-esque then I'll worry about the shields.
@Axxidous 1. Sorry, I forgot to finish that sentence. XP I was saying that if he was able to say modern Sonic's gameplay with classic Sonic's gamepla and vise versa, it was possible. 3. The spindash makes you go waaaay to far compared to the spindash in the classics. Additionally, there is little variation in distance when it comes to on how long you hold the spindash or how many times you tap the spindash button.
Im glad you showed us this vid so SEGA brought back the shields from Sonic 3 huh well this is gonna be one hell of a long and hard game but I accept that challange alrigh then SEGA bring it on!
@kingkonz1 It's not a matter of the complexity of execution, but the direction of the game. Not animating the shields when performing actions is just not trying.
@theGMANtheBOSS First off, that's a lot to ask for. Secondly, he might not be able to play it anymore. Idk if the time limit of the demo effects when it's hacked. lol But also, why do the super peel out? I get it looks cool and all but it's a weaker version of the spindash due to the spindash being crappy in CD. If we HAVE a proper spindash what do we need peel out for? It's like considering Mighty a better character than Blaze just cuz he's been gone for a while. xD
@Lukethehedgehog1 I know, but I meant the first time they appeared in canonical games. Bounce Bracelet was previously in SA2 and Sonic R I'm sure is non-canon. But thank you for being so rude about it anyway.
@bardhi09 No, it's not animated. It doesn't contract and move when sonic performs his second jump. The model and tetxtures surrounding the barrier are in, and even the functionality but not the animation. IIRC there should even be a power up symbol since it was in the code. Regardless, I very doubt it's not gonna be animated in the final version, and even if so, don't we agree it's pointless to get "angry" and cuss about it? Sega being lazy? That's not something really radical. :p
@Axxidous 1. If he can swap modern Sonic into classic's Sonic's 2. I know people have hacked it so that the demo doesn't expire. 3. Just something I would like to see if he could pull it off, and what it would look like in the game. Everytime I bring up the SPO people almost always talk negative about it. And the Spindash is overpowered.
The shields lack animation for their jumping effects, and the particle effects for fire and electric are pretty basic and unexciting, I hope they fix this for the final game. I mean the bubble doesn't even squash when you land.
for some reason I feel 100x safer when I have one of these shields. also, since you don't lose all your rings upon getting hit, the elec shield is going to be as broken as sonic 06....
Hey Pegleg! Do you think you could hack the game so that the Super Peel Out could be used as a feature for classic Sonic? Like somehow map the controls so that the spindash is used by holding up and then pressing the jump button; use classic Sonic's top-speed running animation, and somehow make Sonic take off without him rolling into a ball. Thanks for reading if you do see this.
@theGMANtheBOSS ...not quite sure what any of that had to do with SPO tho. lol Anyhoo I guess you meant overpowered in Generations. I was referring to the move in general. =P Too bad they couldn't do something like the Adventure series Sonic as well with his own gameplay. He can spindash and then press the S.D. button again and switch back to his running animation without stopping. :D lol
I bet SEGA's either extremely mad or worried abut all of their stuff being revealed. Levels, bosses, powerups, and possibly the option to play as Modern in classic levels and vise versa.
@theGMANtheBOSS Ah okay. And oookaaaay. I don't really think that matters. Those are minor details I probably would barely notice except by chance and then I would've just noticed it and thought nothing of it. I'm not gonna nitpick that it isn't EXACTLY like the Classics since it's not the same engine or physics. If you say the spindash' moves further then good. That's what we want. If the rolling is short then good for that too cuz I don't wanna be stuck in it unless I ask for it via S.D. ;D
I don't see how anyone could complain. First of all, we would've been just find having a new Sonic game. THEN they bring back classic Sonic. THEN they add old physics and gameplay styles. THEN they add our favorite levels of past games. THEN THEY ADD THE BEST BOSSES. Dude I was pumped just by the mention of Classic Sonic and Green Hill Zone. This game is pure fangasm. Your arguments are invalid.
@theGMANtheBOSS 1. If he can swap modern Sonic into classic's Sonic's what? o_O 2. ah ok. 3. I guess so.And really? Cuz I always hear ppl overrate the SPO. XD And what do you mean overpowered? You know the SPO is kinda like a chargable version of Sonic Boost only you get hurt when running into enemies or obstacles. They should do that. Like in the Adventure series, make his feet still make a circle illusion and then Sonic Boost can look like SPO and you take damage when hitting a robot
@Aizen9 They aren't in the demo normally though, he had to hack to get access to them, mess with coding and whatnot, that's what I mean. As for the claims of it being a homing attack, he literally doesn't use it on a single enemy or object so not sure where that comes from, it's a small mid-air burst of speed like it should be. Whiners gonna whine.
@bardhi09 Hey, you made three of the same unreplied comments of how a barrier is badly animated. In a demo. When you aren't even supposed to access them. Notice they aren't even animated, at all, and that the only thing thats remniscent of the shield is the model around them. With all due respect, calm the fuck down and enjoy someone confirmed these exist. If you still can't believe a demo has incomplete graphics then be that way
Seriously, if you hate the Sonic franchise/the way SEGA handles their Sonic games so much, why not just make your own fan-game and do better? You can't? Then stop bitching about the people who actually try. :| Anyway, this game looks awesome. 8D
@bardhi09 You have to? What the hell? It's easy not to. Just don't do it. I mean, if the game ends up being good you whined for no reason. If it ends up being bad then you can whine about it after it's released. I can see the whining before release being like some sort've self-mental tactic to make your expectactions low so if it ends up bad you won't be disappointed and if it's good you're be amazed. But I don't know if that's really the clever tactic you're going for here. lol
Woah that bubble shield bounces you high o.O And makes you super floaty XD
Pretty cool that these make a return. They don't seem animated like the original ones do though. I was expecting the bubble to have a bouncing animation and the fire to turn into a fireball.

*applauds*
Nice work, Pegleg!
Niiiiiiiiiiice c: Although I preferred the animation in Sonic 3. Kinda looks tacky here. But I'm glad such a thing has been brought back
I just realized that in the years since S3&K, all three shields' abilities have been utilized in other games.
God i hope these return. even if there're only in one stage
Now I have to wonder. Since Modern Sonic can be hacked into Classic Levels, how would the shields affect Modern Sonic?
@VerendumProductions If you ask me:
Lightning shield: Second jump feels like you go higher then you used to in S3&K.
Fire shield: Forward boost effect seems more powerful.
Bounce shield: This one obviously makes you go much higher then you used to in S3&K.

To be honest I'd rather the physics be more classic-esque then I'll worry about the shields.
The electric one sounds like the Halo energy sword pulled out..
@Darksonic91 better question, is it possible to release a .pkg of the demo with both Classic and Modern Green Hill.
@Axxidous 1. Sorry, I forgot to finish that sentence. XP I was saying that if he was able to say modern Sonic's gameplay with classic Sonic's gamepla and vise versa, it was possible.

YES!! THE SHIELDS ARE BACK!!
I would have liked if they functioned more like the old ones.
Double jump for the first shield is the plasma grenade explosion sound effect from Halo 1.
WTF
@kingkonz1 It's not a matter of the complexity of execution, but the direction of the game.
Not animating the shields when performing actions is just not trying.
if you hold square while using the shield do you dash like modern sonic?
Think we could see this with the classic sonic in modern stage hack>
@theGMANtheBOSS First off, that's a lot to ask for. Secondly, he might not be able to play it anymore. Idk if the time limit of the demo effects when it's hacked. lol

Yay Sonic 3 shields!
@Lukethehedgehog1 I know, but I meant the first time they appeared in canonical games. Bounce Bracelet was previously in SA2 and Sonic R I'm sure is non-canon. But thank you for being so rude about it anyway.

@123Arkham Don't worry, it's not a hack, the shields' icons were found with other stuff like wisps and the chaos emeralds.
for some reason I feel 100x safer when I have one of these shields.
also, since you don't lose all your rings upon getting hit, the elec shield is going to be as broken as sonic 06....

@MetalShadowX Dont forget electric shield is still in adventure 1 2 and some others
@theGMANtheBOSS ...not quite sure what any of that had to do with SPO tho. lol Anyhoo I guess you meant overpowered in Generations. I was referring to the move in general. =P
Too bad they couldn't do something like the Adventure series Sonic as well with his own gameplay. He can spindash and then press the S.D. button again and switch back to his running animation without stopping. :D lol
i wonder if the elemental shields deflect projectiles in this game, can't tell from this video
I bet SEGA's either extremely mad or worried abut all of their stuff being revealed. Levels, bosses, powerups, and possibly the option to play as Modern in classic levels and vise versa.
@theGMANtheBOSS Ah okay.

Badass.
If you hack Modern Sonic into Classic Sonic's level, is it possible to give him the shields?
I don't get why people still complain. Hello this is just a prototype!! Hope the Sonic Cycle will break here.
@Ssonicmovies I was comparing the shields seen in this video to it's S3&K counterparts.
@SonicXtheXYoshi maybe so that sega doesn't find this? xD
@VerendumProductions Then this is epic!
Elemental shields?
SAVED FOREVER
dat bubble
@TheKnucklesChaotix They're from the game. Let us bow to PolygonJim.
@theGMANtheBOSS 1. If he can swap modern Sonic into classic's Sonic's what? o_O
2. ah ok.
3. I guess so.And really? Cuz I always hear ppl overrate the SPO. XD And what do you mean overpowered?

Why does the electric shield sound like the energy sword from halo?
@bardhi09 Wow they look the exact same!
@TheKnucklesChaotix they were found in the demo
Sega cant hide anything from polygons.
@MutantYoshi probably the game would freeze xD
@ZXReploidHunter It's still a hack, but yes, these files are in the demo.
Are these the real powerups from the game, hacked in, or are they fan-made?
All I'm saying is that I know it's a work in progress and that I hope the final version isn't anything like this.
Fire Shield = BOOST?
Bubble Shield = HOMING ATTACK?
Category: Autos and Vehicles?
"I came"
"Me too"
@bad1boy34 What exactly is wrong with it?
omg
I JUST GOT A SONIC-GASM
@supermax110 No bounce animation...
@DanielAnthony1400 well not really -.-
Hack?
Either way, hell yes.
@edsterisawesome Why, that's not beneficial to the player at all! What the hell, Sonic Team?! XD
@Darksonic91 Yes.
ITS BEEN TOO LONG!!!! TOO DAMN LONG WITHOUT OUR PROPER WORKING ELEMENTAL SHIELDS!! SEGA THANK YOU...BUT WHAT. THE. FUCK?
@SonictheHedgehog523 Wrong game. Try Sonic Unleashed and then we'll talk (or Black Knight, if you prefer).
@PikachuColoredPichu1;
Insta-shield.
@SonictheHedgehog523 As part of the aim public of the product, I demand having my right to complain about what is wrong.
MAGICAL SHIELDS
Y U NO ANIMATE?
@bardhi09 ...So?
fail at the end.
You want to get your girlfriend something nice for her birthday? Get her a shield.
cool hacks bro
@Aeiutube ¿WTF?
0 dislikes. the way it was meant to be.
mario mad an account XD
@MetalShadowX Ah, sorry. I wasn't meant to be rude.
@dragonfighter4171 sorry no good English and nice 7 thumbs up XD
@bardhi09 Hey, you made three of the same unreplied comments of how a barrier is badly animated. In a demo. When you aren't even supposed to access them. Notice they aren't even animated, at all, and that the only thing thats remniscent of the shield is the model around them.

@dragonfighter4171 Nah. He mad bro
@uzimakishadow lol sorry no good English i ment mario made an account but i guess people use that alot so it is kind of.... stupid ^^
@bardhi09 You seem like a troll
Seriously, if you hate the Sonic franchise/the way SEGA handles their Sonic games so much, why not just make your own fan-game and do better?
You can't? Then stop bitching about the people who actually try. :|
Anyway, this game looks awesome. 8D

These are fake! we've all played this level on the demo, there's not even any boxes for shields on this level.
@Yateseyuk Read before you rant. You'd be surprised what people who are smarter than you can do.
@XxSuperShadicxX They're not excatly doing much about it right now.
