@sonick123456 I use the term "BOOSH" trilogy to describe the trilogy of playthroughs I've made for them. I don't think I'll be making a Super Comparison for those three games, but I have something planned for them.
@krazeeKidd102 Well for starters, the loop Modern Sonic went through was three times the size the one classic Sonic went through. If you put Classic Sonic in Modern Sonic's level, he'd probably need some type of speed boost to get past that. The dash panel is probably there for the event that you have no energy in your boost gauge.
Look at the date of this video. I made this MONTHS before the game was even released so don't expect a speed-run when this was one of my first times playing it.
@Sonicgamesnerd I actually recorded footage of the Game Gear footage, but decided not to use it because then I would have to also fit the 3DS versions in AND there's another Game Gear game with GHZ so I figured, do the handhelds in another video.
@Wickershamleader More like he has the shortest level and the longest, but that's not true anyway because the original was using 3 acts. I plan to re-do this using some of the missions to fill in as extra acts.
@Jacktheinfinite101 I noticed that thank you and im looking forward to playing the other Modern stages. I wont make a huge deal since you have a point but I am glad to see more platforming and alternate routes since those two key items form the foundation of Sonic games
For the record, this video was made using the June 23rd Demo, so don't expect a good run when the game hasn't even come out (I uploaded a second version of this vid using the actual release). As for Sa3, Sunset Hill, while an obvious homage to Green Hill, is still a different stage.
@Rexco33 I'm actually doing a V2 of this video and while I am keeping the SFX in the audio should be more balanced. The reason for the audio imbalance is recording with different games and different consoles, but in V2 of this VId, I'm using the Genesis Emulator in Gens for the Sonic 1 footage so the audio from Sonic 1 will be more balanced, I can't say the same of Sa2 but it's only on for 1/3 of the video.
@eddylugia The boost isn't mean't to be used all the time either, people use it alot in speedruns as seen in this video. When I first played Unleashed, I refrained from using the boost all the time in order to memorise the layout of the level, after that, I could pretty much beat the level everytime after that, but then I wanted to see how much quicker the level could be beat, that's where the boost comes in.
@DrIvoRobotnick What's there to compare with Tennis, GBA and Brawl? I can't do anything with those because they aren't actual stages. This is about actual Sonic levels. As for the term "Super" that dates back to a few years ago. I did a lot of videos comparing the Wii and 360 versions of SU but I did one where I compared the Wii, 360, and Mobile versions and it titled it a "Super Comparison" because normal there's only two things compared at once, but I was comparing three.
Also, the problem with adventure sonic came full circle when sonic 06 came out, namely, the fact that sonic only went fast when you have no control over him, in unleashed, they found a good medium between giving you an exhilirating sense of speed while being able to control the character where as all you did before was just hold up and watch as the events unfold, and, like I said before, there's more manipulation than before give it credit for.
I only watched Genesis when the rest of the other videos were over a minute ago :P. Mostly focused on SA2 (favorite sonic) and Modern Green Hill (love modern sonic)
@RockRulez124 Hey Th original GHZ's acts take no time to complete. Act 1 can be beaten on less than 20 seconds. The only reason it wen on for two minutes is because I started to ge sloppy at Act 3. Either way, the other versions had other acts to use, I would have used them, but they didn't. Though Generations may have extra acts, in which case I'll make this again to include them.
1) Original- jus because of the memories of my childhood :') 2) Modern- who ever knew that Green Hill Zone can be soooooo badass! 3) Classic- The visuals and physics are freaking awesome 4 SA2- who the hell doesn't like SA2! I like them all but this is jus my personal rating of each Green Hill Zone.
Maybe if I did one for the handheld versions, after all, GHZ has a bunch of appearances on handheld titles too, like Generations 3DS and a couple of GG titles.
@SuperEpicYoshi Yeah that's the one. The first level is called Green Hill Zone though it looks nothing like Green Hill. Hey BTW that reminds me, I was also planning on doing one for Green Hill clones: stages that bear the signature checkered rock design of GHZ but have a different name. Would you call Neo Green Hill a clone or another GHZ?
I'd go for generations :) they maybe should have created longer stages that focus a bit more on speed for the classic sonic ... but other than that, the game is just great. Music, graphics, gameplay and nostalgia values are just epic.
@Segastar1 Honestly the original and the Modern version are very similar. The original Act 1 can be beaten in less than 20 seconds, so it makes sense for Modern GHZ to be very linear. If you look at Modern renditions of levels from Sky Sanctuary onwards you'll notice that they add in a lot more platforming and alternate routes to accompany the speed sections.
@Jacktheinfinite101 Well you said this is a Super Comparisson, Its not really all that super if you are lacking some of the stages + music. Like Brawl, Superstars Tennis, and the GBA Port.
@Segastar1 In that case shouldn't the Generations Classic Sonic version be your best? It's the most interactive. The original you can just go straight and occassionally jump. Act 2 and 3 require waiting and going up... but that's sort've equal to just jumping higher or merely stopping for a sec. SA2's is the same as the original only it turns left and right here and there. Modern Sonic's doesn't require boosting but yes you CAN easily boost through there if you so choose to take that path.
This may get some hate but to me The SA2 Green Hill looks more player interactive then the Generations Modern version. The Modern one is nothing but boosting! nothing can beat the Oringinal and The classic version looks just as good.
@Jacktheinfinite101 Thats no excuse!! hahaha im just kiddin. But how does generations modern Sonic control? Is it exactly like Sonic Unleashed or are there some differences?
@TheKnucklesChaotix That wouldn't work. They don't play the same so you can't use them as one gameplay format in the comparison. There will be extra acts in the final game anyway so yeah.
@krazeeKidd102 Are people still buggin' out over this? *sigh* Look, ever since Sonic 1, there were "unnatural," so to speak, ways of Sonic increasing his speed, namely springs being placed on walls. Dash panels themselves have been present since Sonic 2, and there hasn't been a major Sonic game since then without some form of them. I don't think they'll be going anywhere anytime soon.
Maybe you also could've have added sunset hill from sonic advance 3.. it's theme is a remix of greeen hill zone's? It's kinda like green hill zone, but with a sunset? 0-0
@eddylugia 1. i know genesis sonic and classic are the same.however, Dreamcast and Modern Sonic are not the same, not the same gameplay and they are not exactly the same-looking. 2. what i meant is that Sega made green hill in Sonic 1, then remaster it in Sonic Adventure 2, then made it again in classic style for classic sonic in generations, and made it hold x to win with modern in generations as well Genesis (Fat) then Dreamcast (not fat) then Classic (fat) then Modern (not fat) get it now?
@Segastar1 This is because you're mostly scored for your time and speed now. And if the default path isn't the boostalicious path, than boosting is pretty much only there to do what you're already doing... only faster, which makes it harder and more challenging, but also more exciting. It's called "Speedy platforming". lol It can get you killed. T.T
2:41 this spike thingey isn't turned back :( But well I don't mind, (Would still be epic to see that in 3d though) Sa2 green hill uses the same colors as the real version, wich makes it epic too ;)
Hearing all four at once makes me feel like I'm at the arcade! An all-Sonic arcade!
Wowzers.....SA2 looks so...slow
ProjectXv2 it's a platformer, what do you expect
TOO MUCH FOR MY BRAIN TO PROCESS AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa...
INVALID FUEL
INSERT TOKEN
@m13k13 That's because it's literally just a 3D remake, the ones in generations are new stages.
I wish we can get more comparisons like this, people nowadays usually show these clips one at a time instead of all at once.
Every 10 years, there's always a new side of Green Hill Zone to explore.
Yeah the last 10 years definitely had many and I mean MANY sides of green hill to explore 💀
This must have taken a long time to do. I love how the Genesis sonic takes forever to finish his Green Hill.
@it4040 I'm not going to exclude the sound effects. It's fun hearing all 4 at once.
*GREEN HILL ZONE BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY*
@sonick123456 I use the term "BOOSH" trilogy to describe the trilogy of playthroughs I've made for them. I don't think I'll be making a Super Comparison for those three games, but I have something planned for them.

Sounds Great by combining them
Ihope sonic survivse forever with green hill !
@Sonicgamesnerd I actually recorded footage of the Game Gear footage, but decided not to use it because then I would have to also fit the 3DS versions in AND there's another Game Gear game with GHZ so I figured, do the handhelds in another video.
THANK YOU!!! I wanted to use it as my PS3 background.
MY EYES ARE BLEEDING FROM EPICNESS!
For the record, this video was made using the June 23rd Demo, so don't expect a good run when the game hasn't even come out (I uploaded a second version of this vid using the actual release).
As for Sa3, Sunset Hill, while an obvious homage to Green Hill, is still a different stage.
I Dont think i ever fallen in love until i met this video
I just thought about the Sonic Colors version of Green Hill in the Sonic Simulator.

@BobombDom Those belong in a comparison of GHZ on the handheld, not the console.
@SuperPro6UYA33 I don't do any vs. comparisons between games in the Unleashed Trilogy but I do have a video planned that uses all three games.
Does anyone else agree the Sonic Adventure 2 Green Hill Zone matches up with the original the best?
@DrIvoRobotnick What's there to compare with Tennis, GBA and Brawl? I can't do anything with those because they aren't actual stages. This is about actual Sonic levels. As for the term "Super" that dates back to a few years ago. I did a lot of videos comparing the Wii and 360 versions of SU but I did one where I compared the Wii, 360, and Mobile versions and it titled it a "Super Comparison" because normal there's only two things compared at once, but I was comparing three.
@SuperEpicYoshi No but another Game Gear game did have a stage called Green Hill Zone.
Nah, it's much cooler to hear all three games playing at once.
@animenut08 its a speical level that you can only unlock if you collect all of the badges in the game
Can you do a version of this for the music?
1) Original- jus because of the memories of my childhood :')
2) Modern- who ever knew that Green Hill Zone can be soooooo badass!
3) Classic- The visuals and physics are freaking awesome
4 SA2- who the hell doesn't like SA2!
I like them all but this is jus my personal rating of each Green Hill Zone.
If they made a Second Sonic Generations, they should have THREE Sonics: Classic, Dreamcast, and Modern!
what about Sonic Battle's version of Green Hill?
Maybe if I did one for the handheld versions, after all, GHZ has a bunch of appearances on handheld titles too, like Generations 3DS and a couple of GG titles.
I find it funny how modern Sonic from Generations is supposed to be the fastest but he finished second to last. lol
Must.... split.. eyeballs into.. FOUR.. GRAAAHHHH
@P17Production you have to get all 180 emblems in SA2
2:09 modern vs. original here we...........GO!!!
OMG!! im like "Which one should i look at!?!?!?
all the generations of sonic
@TheRiderssonic123 Most people mean Sonic Adventure 2 when they say SA2.
I'd go for generations :) they maybe should have created longer stages that focus a bit more on speed for the classic sonic ... but other than that, the game is just great.
Music, graphics, gameplay and nostalgia values are just epic.
Awesome job.
@Jacktheinfinite101 Which one?
@SuperEpicYoshi I forget the name but you could also play as Knuckles and the Sprites kind of looked 3D.
Well that's three stages while the others are only one stage.
NOTHING BEATS THE ORGINAL! :D
I like the part where you hear the ring sound...
@Segastar1 Honestly the original and the Modern version are very similar. The original Act 1 can be beaten in less than 20 seconds, so it makes sense for Modern GHZ to be very linear. If you look at Modern renditions of levels from Sky Sanctuary onwards you'll notice that they add in a lot more platforming and alternate routes to accompany the speed sections.
sonic speed
@Segastar1 SA2 Green Hill is the most interactive overall since it's in fully 3D.
The way you counted the time was absolutely ridiculous.
wait, what about the game gear version of Green hill Zone?
@Jacktheinfinite101
Well Maby the Hyper Comparison should have every version in existance!
I know but it has the Green Hill music, so it would work.
@Jacktheinfinite101
Well you said this is a Super Comparisson, Its not really all that super if you are lacking some of the stages + music. Like Brawl, Superstars Tennis, and the GBA Port.
Since all three of original GHZ's stages were combinded, Classic and Modern GHZ in Generations should have been combinded also.
how to play green hill in SA2?
+Ahmed Bilal You can play it if you have all 180 emblems from SA2
@Segastar1 In that case shouldn't the Generations Classic Sonic version be your best? It's the most interactive. The original you can just go straight and occassionally jump. Act 2 and 3 require waiting and going up... but that's sort've equal to just jumping higher or merely stopping for a sec.
SA2's is the same as the original only it turns left and right here and there.
Modern Sonic's doesn't require boosting but yes you CAN easily boost through there if you so choose to take that path.
@SuperEpicYoshi Yeah but it isn't a Green Hill clone. The rocks have a triangle shape to them as opposed to the square shape of GHZ.
Awesome.
I know it's not officially a Sonic game, but you should've thrown in a clip from Brawl XP
@Jacktheinfinite101 Yes also Palmtree Panic just feels like GHZ.
This may get some hate but to me The SA2 Green Hill looks more player interactive then the Generations Modern version. The Modern one is nothing but boosting! nothing can beat the Oringinal and The classic version looks just as good.
man why so much hate for SA2 green hill?
it was basicly a remake of the original act 1 from the the genesis
@Jacktheinfinite101 Oh yeah, it was Sonic Blast.
Where Can I Find That Swagg'n Picture at 0:00?
@Jacktheinfinite101 Thats no excuse!! hahaha im just kiddin. But how does generations modern Sonic control? Is it exactly like Sonic Unleashed or are there some differences?
@krazeeKidd102 He didn't need one, they just put one there.
Great video.
Could have tried harder and faster in Original. XD
@Weciwhite17 He didn't. The guy in Free Riders is not Dan Green. He just has an incredible impersonation of him.
A Green Hillgasm
Epic, Man.
You made a ton of mistakes on sonic 1's ghz. I would have re-recorded it to be fair with the other recordings.
@TheKnucklesChaotix That wouldn't work. They don't play the same so you can't use them as one gameplay format in the comparison. There will be extra acts in the final game anyway so yeah.
@krazeeKidd102 Are people still buggin' out over this? *sigh*
Look, ever since Sonic 1, there were "unnatural," so to speak, ways of Sonic increasing his speed, namely springs being placed on walls.
2. what i meant is that Sega made green hill in Sonic 1, then remaster it in Sonic Adventure 2, then made it again in classic style for classic sonic in generations, and made it hold x to win with modern in generations as well
Genesis (Fat) then Dreamcast (not fat) then Classic (fat) then Modern (not fat)
get it now?
it was only last because it has three acts instead of one
Sonic Drinks PowerThirst for breakfast!
Why did'nt you add sunset hill from Sonic Advanced 3?
Neo is a Green Hill clone (much like Seaside Hill and Splash Hill). Brawl wouldn't work because it's just a fighting arena, and "Gensis"?
So many sonics which one is the best i say all of them any one who disagrees will meet Mr.GUN the Truck from city escape
@Jacktheinfinite101 Sonic 2 for Game Gear didn't have Green Hill Zone it was Green Hills Zone.
I DON'T KNOW WHICH SCREEN TO WATCH!!!!!!!!:O
Cannot tell if abysmal monstrosity to sound.....or cacophony of ecstasy to my ears -_-
Generations MODERN!!!
@Mematman15 Umm, yeah he did? I know what that game's music sounds like. It wasn't on there.
you should have added the Sonic Battle version just for the lol's
Lol sonic 1 is playing on a bad emulator
+iTweak0r * That footage is actually recorded from the Mega Collection for this video.
Yeah but the sound's all weird like in the generations port the roll sound sounds so horrible
Sounds fine to me
2:41 this spike thingey isn't turned back :( But well I don't mind, (Would still be epic to see that in 3d though)
Sa2 green hill uses the same colors as the real version, wich makes it epic too ;)
2:27 the Winner is..........modern
wth the original had a glich at 3:23 sorry if i said glich wrong :3
@SonicRiderFoLife That's because his stage is bigger..
