The Revolution Imager is an which has been a long time coming. With years of customers wanting to see more from their backyard and being frustrated with Astrophotography and not having a PhD in computer science. We have been looking for something simple that will aid the human eye to "See" more and give the astronomer a path to learn more from your backyard. Technology advanced and now, any telescope can use this powerful imaging system to go magnitudes deeper in just a few seconds. Every school and outreach program will soon be using this to "See" what they've been missing from home, in color, in moments. Our hope is this view will entice the next generation to Mars and beyond. You know it exists, reach for the Stars!

A well thought out piece that concisely sums up the the implementation and benefits of electronically assisted astronomy. The dialog flows perfectly, well done!

I'm very interested in your gear - I'm partially handicapped and getting back to astronomy after a 30year hiatus. I can't stand for very long at the scope like I used to due to problems with my vertebrae due to damage to my low back but I figure a good GOTO scope and your CCDs would make a great combination for my particular circumstance. I am getting an observatory set up this year just for this sort of ideal setup and your imagers will figure prominently in my getting to my goal...

I love mine, It's super fast and EZ to learn. Some other systems ( I have had a lot ) really take a while to understand. The fun thing about this system is you can practice and get things setup and take great daytime shots as well. Hope this helps & Good Luck!

Hi Gary, Sure! It's based off a LN300 Camera using a Sony ICX 811 sensor, the IR filter has been removed to help increase sensitivity and there has been some modification so you can use the wired remote to make exposure and menu changes without jiggling the camera. As you can take up to a 20 second exposure and average (stack) up to 5 images, most popular and some even unipolar deep sky objects can be "seen" with even a modest tracking telescope. There are tons of digital solutions once you have the image! Hope that helps and don't hesitate to email us at info at revolutionimager.com if you have more questions, it's a super fun device!

Very cool. Does it have the ability to flip the image? Otherwise you get a mirror image of M51 when using a diagonal. Some people might not notice with M51 but with the Moon they can just look up at the Moon and compare it with the image on the screen and see that you have a mirror image.

Hi, great question! Yes there are multiple ways to flip the image, you can rotate the image in the screen selection and you can mirror the image in the camera software. Basically yes, flip it anyway you want in the monitor without moving the monitor!

So I can see the image more detailed, and also others can see on the screen with me? So its a live real time image of what the scope is seeing?

Hi, Yes - you can get the USB Video Capture adapter ($14.99) then use a free program like Sharpcap or AstroToaster to save to your laptop

      Hi Brian,
It's either focus on your Telescope or Exposure. Have you tried focusing on something during the day?

What Focal Length telescope are you using, you may want to add a barlow lens for Saturn. Are you talking about the White remote? The remote must be in CVBS mode if so then it will work. Hope this helps?
