We have taken this potentially confusing task and simplified with our band tying kit. Everything you need to tie bandsets to your own custom specs, all you supply is the scissors and time.
The kit includes the following:
Band Tying Jig
One spool of Crystal String
One Spool of Tying Tape
One Hemostat clamp
12 microfiber pouches (six large, six small)
5 packs of SimpleShot Premium Black Latex matched to the 5 most common sizes of steel ammo (12 pieces of latex per pack)

i just got into slingshotting again back when i was a kid chucking rocks with a self made wooden fork with tubular bands, how things have changed just got a neat little titanium slingshot from amazon and ordered several bands and pouches from you guys at simpleshot, glad y'all have these instructional videos. makes me feel like a kid again.

My name is Robert Bussiere I live in Ontonagon mi.
I am 65 years old I haven't picked up a slingshot since I was about ten or 12 years old,
I was wondering if it wouldn't make more sense to use the same material that the bands are made of.
Just use the scraps of latex rubber to tie the bands on the pouch
I think that string would cut into the bands more than the latex would.
What are your thoughts on this?

That works equally as well! There is not a single right way to do it but many.

no, the new one is a much more solid design.
The $30 Simpleshot Band Jig is "Fiddly" to use. The jigs that use "Medical Clamps" are better.
Yes, if you use different pouch sizes, it will need to be adjusted. Once you have it set to the length you need, there should be no problems.
