Although her message was very trivial, since Math is defined as language and tool of science, i couldn't help but feel inspired by her. As a math (applied math to mechanical engineering) student, this is the first time i have heard someone from the modern applied math field talking about her researches. Thank you madam.
So, from biomimicking we make assumptions and it is applied to simulations of much serious and relevant issues to observe the outcomes until we get the right ones, by making changes to our assumptions, over and over again.
The link between physics and mathematics is so obvious, even some of the trolls responding here are vaguely aware of it. Hopefully this short video will excite budding mathematicians with little interest in studying physic to realize the study of math can result in an ability to help humanity in other fields as well. Well done Irina, thank you!
This was brilliant and eye-opening. Thank you so much. This inspires me to imagine working in this field in the future. I'm a Computer Science Under Grad Student and I believe Algorithmic thinking is beneficial in this field, and hope to contribute to this one day!
Mathematics is always applied.. It's the best way to quantify our assumptions,,, it helps to practically calculate the level of correlation between different factors in a system... This was a very fine video explaining that..!!!! I appreciate it!! 👏👏👏
Pan Raphael Of course i don't, but you just can't judge the title as clickbait if you don't know any better, and you do by either watching the video or having knowledge about the topic.
Aubree Swart .... formal math is hyper precise... if anything would be responsible for curing cancers it'd be measurement of the balances responsible for the cancer's functioning and exploiting it mathematically. Really not clickbait. Reality.
Or, just let bots sort that out for ya. Why let a human pick a few hypothesys, when a program can run all of them? Invest a few years in teaching the bot, then lean back and watch the answers you didn't expect, to questions you didn't conceive, roll in.

This is an underrated TED Talk.
i like how she is so comfortable while delivering her speech
how can she remember all her speech and making it structural ?
Ikr 👌🏾😂

In my opinion, there is no greater pleaser than attractive people teaching amazing concepts.
I agree😊

Oh dear lord. She gets excited by maths. You can see it in her face. It doesn't get any hotter than this.
Love her presentation and energy.
Awesome creativity in logical reasoning
Math for the win. Usually I wait to watch these, but my love is math. So, I have to watch this now. Yay math! Okay, sorry; I’m just excited.
me too
Yay! Math!
Brilliant! So much great information crammed into less than 8 minutes!
Awesome, inspirational
Very good. I hope with the development of quantum computing, we will be able to test the most important treatments available. Thank you
0:54 how this equation came?
That was a mouthful!
Gorgeous and intelligent ❤️
Meanwhile I'm just wondering when I'll see a video with a title that doesn't sound like clickbait
allooutrick to be fair it's not really clickbait
Did you even watch the video or do you have any clue about the topic biomathematics?
Pan Raphael Of course i don't, but you just can't judge the title as clickbait if you don't know any better, and you do by either watching the video or having knowledge about the topic.
Let’s just all agree that it sounds clickbaity but it mostly isn’t.

I am kenyan. I love medicine. Are there scholarships for the same in Germany?
Best Ted talk
very well! actually astonishing:)
thank you so much for this!!
This is Awesome
Yes it is.
This is true mathematics is everything...God has created this world with the complex math
Excellent very impressive and well presented, keep it up Dr Chand,
math can literally answer everything. math isn't really a physical thing... it is everything.
William Alfaro finally someone that's shares my enthusiasm!
More like a logical representation of everything
DE modeling for biology is one of Alain Turing 's legacy
Isn't mathematical modelling used in control systems?
wowww it is amazing

And I have to pay UA-cam red to listen to music outside the app...
Anonymous 30 O_o Yeah bro everything should be free. Like why even pay people for their time and services. That’s just hella lame yo.
I wanna know long these equations took to make

Cancer killed my dad and sister February and november last year😓 😣
Hellolife Rest In Peace. Healing will take you a long time, but I know you will find peace.
can birth death queueing model used for cancers secret's
Hey, cool video, but I would like to translate into russian language!
Isn't Math used for every type of scientific research? And since before it was called scientific research?
Ecology; the math of biology.
That's if you believe there isn't a cure for cancer!
Helllo i love you guysss
too much of available funding generally gives rise to useless research
trying to make simulation of predator prey model sound complicated to fit a 7 minute talk...ZZZzzz
male + female = - male?
Reality she is appling the scientific method 2 do experiments. Using maths.
We cant even model an exact insulin dosing mechanism for diabetics. Why should this work in a much more complicated disease like cancer?
Early squad!
👀-🧠=😜
I always enjoy listening to women talking about biology. Male biologists, they put me to sleep except Sir David Frederick Attenborough.
I belive that some people on the control wont let it go on....companies of medicin against cancer that cost like a win in lottery...
math is everything, thats been the case for pretty much ever in the case of the human race. so why is this special?
"Cancer cells are invaders" where did she learn biology?!
first!
always wanted to do that

Curing cancer is as simple as 1 2 3 (Cough) C B D
