When we had Maddie and Lucca, it was summer, making it "easier." Quincy is a winter baby, and it is more challenging to raise a baby when you can't do much outside at all.

Appreciate your videos 🙂. We also live in a 4 season climate and all I can say for the cold months is get the right gear and get outside as much as possible. If you and the kids are dressed properly you can enjoy the outside to an extent. Will look forward to seeing where you guys land next home-wise. After moving to South Dakota from south central Texas, I missed being able to just go for a walk whenever I wanted. 😕
I remember going for a walk one sunny, winter day. I headed south, facing the sun. It felt great!😁
Then, I had to turn around to walk back home. My cheeks and nose began to hurt. When I got back to the house I overheard my boyfriend and his son talking. His son said, 'Dad, it's 0° outside.' 😳🥶
I am back in Texas and have enjoyed the full extent of spring for more than just a couple of weeks. Went for lots of walks whenever I wanted all winter, without my face hurting. Didn't even need a coat, hat or gloves!!😁
With all of that said. I completely understand why that 75° is so wonderful all the way up there!
It was 65° today at my son's house back up in SD. (81° here!)
I moved to the south 18 years ago when I turned 18. The weather definitely has a huge impact on your mental health. It usually only snows once every few years where I live and the winters are very mild.
Ced, I think that it is awesome that as the man of the house, you not only recognize, but you are implementing a plan and setting the example in leading your family to a better and healthier lifestyle! And it's great that you and Charlotte are both on the same page and are willing to work together towards victory for the entire family!! That's true teamwork at its best!! Nice choice of outfits from Kohl's!! Everyone was decked out!! Beautiful family indeed!! 💕

So I live in Wi but am also from California… I GET it. I gave 4 boys and I have always said it’s so much easier to parent when they can get outside. For a long time I tried really hard to be the “no matter the weather” family but the stress of fighting them when they didn’t want to was almost contradicting to the benefits of the outside. I would still say we get out more day than not. We also gave dogs and people say all the time that they are shocked that I kept my dogs through parenting but I just respond with- they keep us accountable for being outside and walking everyday. You are so right about the benefits all around.
On another note- I have 4 boys. One born in November and the other 3 in Jan, feb, march. Most difficult babies… FOR SURE! November kid was the only one I didn’t get ppd with and I credit that to holiday season with lots of family and celebrations. Also, that was my only baby who slept through the night- huge game changer. The other three were born in the winter lull. I didn’t recognize it with the first, just kept saying I have to force myself to bond with him… no one around me recognized it either and it wasn’t till I came out of it that I realized what was going on. I tried so hard to avoid it with the other 2 but it’s just SO HARD when you aren’t getting that natural vitamin D on top of being so extremely sleep deprived.
I will say, it ends. It really truly ends. Keep reminding yourselves that. When you get out of that drowning stage your relationship will be so much stronger because you stepped up… that means more than anything.
I walk to work and back every single day of the week, at least 25min ~ and it’s honestly super helpful!

Walking is fantastic. And it does so much for your mental affect- especially in nature. Also, as you mentioned, it is a nice low impact way to to improve your overall health.
That is such a great idea that we should all be implementing - walking is so important so healthy & so wonderful to instill that in your daughters!! it’s free, and it’s the best exercise for your body and your mind!!🙌

I’m from Wisconsin and have 3 girls 6 and under. Totally understand where you’re coming from! I would also add that while it’s important to embrace summer, find joy in all of the seasons, even Winter. There’s cross country skiing, snow showing, sledding etc. Although I realize that’s all difficult with small children..but maybe when they get older! God bless you and your family ❤

I had my oldest the end of May, it was awesome. I had my youngest in august, the last couple months of pregnancy going through the summer was rough but the weather was still nice to go out.
Finally I can tell you how truly beautiful your wife is. Just naturally gorgeous. Always looking fresh and sweet. Nothing fake about her. No wigs, no false eyelashes, no 3 inch long fake fingernails. Yeah... Charlotte... She's the ONE.

I definitely can relate. I grew up in northern Wisconsin till I was 9. Then we moved to San Francisco and bay area for some years. I fell in love with California. Unless people live in the Midwest and in harsher climates. I don't think they really understand how life is different. So much of the weather dominates your life for better part of the year. I just found your channel I love how you think and love your family.

****swimmng for safery.....lots of lakes,,,pools, etc. water safety so important. im in Michigan. growing up, I was required to pass swimming test to graduate from High school and from College. They dont do that anymore. kids, college kids on Great lakes drowning, every summer.....etc....etc....just awful. thinking positive....swimming lessons. swim teams....never too old for swim lessons. pools in winter, too.
