Ive been visiting CR for a few years now. I’m in the process of preparing for our official move this summer. I’ve been racking my brain on different tackle and supplies to take as things are more difficult to find on the Caribbean side. Spare hooks for my lures. What a great idea! Thanks. Definitely added to the list.
Where on the Carribean side are you around? I spent close to 2 months in tortuguero and always walked the beach up to the end of the "road"/ the lagoon. In the town right next to the main town. Never fished on the beach section but caught a lot on the freshwater side, and saw some cool fish remains occasionally.
Morning from 🇸🇨 the seychelles... For a young man i feel that you should have more subscribers, what i love about your channel is that you keep it real, there's not much editing out of casting without any fish, just showing that's why its called fishing not catching, tight lines fish on
See, I hate it when so many people say Roosterfish is bad tasting and not good to eat!!! You guys liked it, and I know the locals all like it as well! My wife is from the Philippines and I’m from Japan and we love the taste of fish no matter how strong. So, I’m sure we’re going to love the taste of Roosterfish!!!
Yeah rooster is definitely not bad at all, I actually like it. I don't like stronger stuff like jack crevalle but rooster (at least the smaller ones) taste very well, they just just be kept in moderation
@@FishermansChronicles You’re probably right, the smaller fish taste better!!! Do the native people care one way or the other, don’t they just eat anything and be happy? That’s the way it is in the Philippines where my wife is from… they’ll eat the giant Jack’s and be happy!!!
@@FishermansChronicles heck yea. Costa rica is so sweet! when we went , we werent even close to catching a rooster fish. Cabo was the closest. getting yours in those calm conditions looks so satisfying
I wonder how a large jointed jitterbug would work. What I like about your fishing is for the most part it's done with a fairly small expenditure of cash with some good results. And then sometimes you wake up in the morning and your motorcycle tire is flat. That's real world.
I'm sure it would work if they saw it but the advantage of the popper is that the sound attracts them. Thanks for following along! Yep, traveling can be super cheap... paid $150 for flight and then stayed in a tent 😆
I release +90% of the roosters ive caught but this was a good eating size and we agreed we would eat just one. Tony lives there and usually keeps all of them

@@danielsuzuki2678 they locals dont care much about the size but from a conservation perspective its also usually better to release the bigger fish

Really good content, dude. Informative and fun to watch. Cheers
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed
Nice content bro! I will visit costa rica for two weeks this april and bring my rod with me, really hope to hook up some nice fish there!
Thank you! Good luck! A tip-- small lures (4-5inch) worked much better for me than larger ones, including for all the bigger fish
