This is one of the better tutorials on how to check belt deflection on a Harley, well done, thank you.

This is great, I've always had a problem reading the belt deflrction window. The way you did it is much better, using the scale on the gauge itself. Thanks!

measurement's are taken at mid point. 1/2 way between trans pully and rear wheel

I have an 06 ultra limited. The service manual states rear wheel off the ground 3/16-1/4. They have a measurement for on the jiffy stand too.

Good technique, as it could be difficult to see the bottom of the belt at free state while attempting to take advantage of the handy window in the belt guard.

Usual Harley complex solution to a mechanically simple application. Whilst on has anyone changed their drive belt recently ? Think they should have copied some of Victory's ideas ie primary drive chains are a little bit dated and drive belts are a serviceable item that may require replacement.......

That sentence means nothing. They have similar tension adjustments but that isn't what you posted.

those increments are useless, find the tight point of the belt by rotating wheel, than adjust belt.if you can adjust when warm

Good point . I would NEVER have my belt at 5/16 deflection as that is way to tight. Good luck with the wheel bearings and early belt failure. No reason you can't have a good inch.

Best to check belt tension at ambient temperature per service manual

Clearly your viewers are not intelligent enough to notice that you are using the Motion Pro Belt Tension Gauge Tool exactly correct.
