Reborn with Me! Baby's First Shampoo: How to Wash Mohair on a Reborn Doll

With Alissa Beth's glues and tears fully cured and set, we're now ready to clean her up for her trip home!
Baby's First Shampoo removes all our hair plan markings from the scalp, rinses any excess dye out of the mohair, and leaves baby smelling soft and fresh.
There's no one right way to wash mohair, but here are some tips that have worked well for me and kept my babies tangle-free:
- Hot Water: mohair felts in cold water, so wash in the hottest water your hands can tolerate. My hot tap is tolerable. But yours may be scalding, so shoot for slightly warmer that bath temperature.
- Brush Through: it can be very tempting to scrub your hair into a lather, but I get fewer tangles when I cleanse with a soft baby brush.
- Leave-in-Conditioner: it's great to follow Baby's First Shampoo with Mohair Conditioner or a similar leave-in-conditioner. Conditioner adds luster and softness to any brand of mohair for a perfect baby hairdo. Silken Child is also good on mohair, but I dislike the fragrance in it. Hello I have a question my reborn doll has mohair the type is very soft the dye is coming off in her hair and shedding a little how can I maintain her hair without getting a dye on her clothes and cloth body
My doll is from the worth the wait company thing and she has curly hair can I still do this or do j need to do something else
Hi I just have one question to ask you, and that's what do you do when your rebounds head is attached to the res of your body like mine is?
Good question. I need to do a baby bath demo. I like to wrap the body in a towel (or plastic wrap would be even better) to avoid getting it wet. I use a sink with a vanity so I can lay the doll on the vanity and just put the head over the sink. Or if your sink has a spray attachment, even better. If you can set the doll up like she's in a beauty shop, you'll have less risk of getting the cloth body wet.
I'm new to the reborn community me and my husband both have just adopted and Lily bundle of joy named Shopia Lee she won't be here till sometime in August so need lots of ideas and how to do please and thanks Shopias mommy

luvmorrisey20 It really depends on the type of doll and the kind of hair it has. Some synthetic fibers, like curly modacrylics, recommend that you avoid washing and styling if possible. Rooted mohair and human hair can be washed and styled. However, the same materials on a cap wig will be very difficult to wash as the cap takes forever to dry and the adhesive could be weakened by the soap and water. For a rooted doll, you do not have to remove the head to wash the hair. If the doll has a cloth body, wrap the body in a towel or plastic bag and do your best to avoid getting it wet.
