I have been playing this quite a lot recently and enjoying it Immensely. The driving physics have impoved since version 8, you can now feel when the front tyres grip into corners and the weight transfer. It takes a bit of time to get used to the driving model before realising that it feels rather good.
In hope they make WRC 10 or beyond in making a rally game with random events like WRC evolved with more stages of course (at least 6 stages per rally) as with gr8 career, car handling... it would be the perfect rally game. It would be amazing. KT have progressed the series a lot since they took the series on. Not saying WRC 9 isn’t super but as a rally fan you want unpredictability when facing hazards or the unexpected things like cows running by the track or kangaroos across the dusty roads! Even the team or co-driver keeping you informed of events of any hazards ahead.
I have the PC version, and the biggest and most important thing is the really really big step at the physics, 8 were good at physics, 9 is brilliant (at least if you go with an ffb wheel!)!!! The weight transfer is now sooo great, the feeling to drift the cars are fantastic, nearly another league than the good physics on 8 let it be possible!! Couldn’t understand that you don’t recognize it??? Very sad that Chile is gone, loved this stages, but New Zealand and Kenia really great too!! Thanks for your fine detailed review on the best Rally Game wich was ever released, and I owned nearly every rally game since the last 20 years for PC... All this only my opinion...

Do the cars still bounce around uncontrollably and spin out over bumps and jumps like they did in WRC 8? I've been told that counter steering doesn't stop you spinning out either when you over steer in this game.
Ty for the informative review, as always. Is it worth the £40 over WRC 8, which was only £28 when it released a year ago? I drive WRC 2 pro as I love the way the Skoda feels but hate the fact that in WRC 8 career you only get half the circuits and these do not changed, season after season. Have they changed this so there is more variation in continued careers, because existing gameplay forces you to promote to full WRC level to get the fullness from the game. Totally agree with you with head tracking, the likes of F1 has it and it so improves my driving being able to naturally adjust the camera to the bend apex
Unfortunately I haven't been able to play career (keeps crashing at the same point) so I can't answer that. There are numerous small updates and enhancements across the board and I would not play WRC 8 again because I would rather play WRC 9 and enjoy all the new features and content. Great review! When you use cockpit view, can you disable the wheel and hands? Now it seems as if they don't move enough. As in the movement in game is not the same as your wheel. I know you can switch to close dash cam, but that is a bit too far forward in my opinion.

The only issue I have with WRC 9 is that the car is weightless, physics wise it great, but hit a bump/rock/turf and it will bounce and float unrealistically...otherwise excellent.

In the endless quest for true simulation, I feel that "fun" is lost sometimes. Most games seem to go to the extreme either way. A game/sim with a specific license is limited in this regard bit this seems to have it.
@@SimUKReviews Absolutely. As a regular iRacer, who is multiple seconds off the pace each week, to have a "sim" where it feels like real car but with a level of fun is important - possibly even the route most people take into this genre anyway . The ability to pick up and play is important when work is busy and practice time is not available - and Mario Kart just doesn't cut it! There are some weeks where working out the specific point at which iRacings tyre model will give up on a specific corner is just not possible/enjoyable. Thanks for the review.
