- "Embroidery" is one of my favorite techniques for decorating cookies, and in this video, I demonstrate my tips and tricks so that you can create your own beautiful yarn rainbow cookie that looks like it's actually been embroidered!
Other than a steady hand and loads of patience, I share with you the two keys to getting all those tiny lines and lots of detail: icing consistency and piping tip size.
To make these cookies you will need:
- Sugar cookie dough (bit.ly/2Z3X76V)
- Royal icing (bit.ly/2AzUxMG)
- Gel food coloring (bit.ly/2RmAxm2)
- Piping bags (bit.ly/3hrxlRd)
- Scribe tool (bit.ly/2oE9KG6)
- Food marker (bit.ly/2EYIeHM)
- Yarn rainbow cookie cutter (bit.ly/3iM5pZg)

You can absolutely do it! But you're right, it does take a little time. Just plan accordingly!

Thank you!
I am so obsessed! So cute!!
May I ask what type of icing color do you use?
I use gel food coloring. I linked my favorite supplies in my Amazon shop in the description box.
Wowwww!! I'm glad that you answered all the questions. The border line next to each other made such a huge difference. I'm making it tonight. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
So glad it was helpful! I can't wait to see what you create!
Great Tips🤍
I enjoy your videos. I hope you come back and do more
Thank you! I'd love to make more videos soon!
@@thehoneyblonde4732 good to hear. I LOVE your videos
Love this tutorial! Thanks! What size of cutter do you suggest?
Sorry for just now replying to this. I prefer any cutter 3"-4". This is a 4".
These are so pretty and convincing that I want to hang them on my wall, Lindsey! I noticed the tipless has you linked to are super small (8”). Do you use the smaller bags for projects like this (where you don’t need a large amount of icing and want more control of the bag), but a larger size the rest of the time? I have generally used metal piping tips, but I’m really interested in trying tipless. Thank you, as always, for sharing!
I believe they are 10". They are the small size by Grunderfully Delicious. I only really buy one size bag and use it for everything. Sometimes I'll use 12" bags for flooding large projects.
When I was looking at you Thumbnail I truly thought it was REAL Embroidered Yarn....
Such a good tutorial! What do you use to speed up your videos?
I edit all my videos with Premiere Pro.
Awesome! Thanks for replying!
How long did it take you to make that one cookie?
omg no way! LOL
Where did you get that turntable? I have no idea why but it's impossible to find a square white one.
It's actually from Amazon. Here's a link: amzn.to/2LuHcuu
@@thehoneyblonde4732 thanks you're the best!
How much did you charge for this cookie?
I made this for fun. If I made this for an order, I'd reduce the number of colors, make the cookie smaller, and charge at least $10 for it.
I would NOT eat this cookie...
I would Spray it with a Clear Coat and FRAME it... Seriously...
Too Beautiful to eat.
Do you have to put the icing in the fridge due to it getting warm in your hand?
