Billy Bob makes an excellent point. I'm from Boston we have the same stupid city ordinance here. It doesn't make any sense and it's not making anyone quit smoking. It's stupidity.
In fact, I (and just about every smoker I know) make it a point to blow smoke towards the "No Smoking" section when forced out into the area that's literally a foot away to light up. So, really, it's a counter productive measure.

I do have to say as well that after listening to Bill for years already since Obama has gotten into office, I really would loe to see him just run for office(and with his popularity he WOULD win, you guys know that,right?) So lets say he's running for mayor of whatever, Im dying to see that once he truly had to take a stand, and deal with all the backstabbing and thhe politics within politicks, what would he really be able to do to help this country or the state he was in? Id vote for him just to see if he'd put his foot in his mouth or not. The fact that he is so overly liberal scares me a lot. I love that movie! I could have been more specific regarding the 'one trick pony,' but since I was responding to someone I thought the context would follow and be understood. When I said 'one trick pony' I was referring to bill Maher's incessant need to politicize and bully others who don't follow his ideology. Thornton was telling a pretty good story and then Bill Maher ruined the whole mood with a political comment that had nothing to do with the story.

Wouldn't have liked it if he was on Limbaugh either, not that I particularly care for or listen to him either, but you get the idea. It was a cool story ruined by unnecessary political commentary. Not everything has to be political, but it seems that the more and more the public splits upon this dichotomy of left and right the more things are politicized or interrupted with politics.

The center has moved so far left that Republican politicians are now what Democrats were only a few years ago. But the pendulum has swung so very far to the left that it has run out of travel - the comeback, the rebound, the inevitable swing back to the right has begun. I fear the momentum it will gather from having swung so far left will carry it so far right that the consequences will be dreadful indeed. Look forward to Ultraconservatism.

I’m a radical leftist on many issues but extremism is the main issue with Bill Maher. The problem is that he isn’t as good at hosting or as intelligent as he believes himself to be. Pompous, hypocritical jackasses like him really make my skin crawl no matter what political ideals they hold. His jokes are often stale and tasteless or the good ones that land during his monologues oftentimes sound like they were scripted by by superior joke writers. For all his talk about being a lefty who stands by the every man, Maher has displayed quite a few moments of classist, racist and sexist sympathies. I want to tell him “Yeah Bill, you told us a billion times that your atheist (hardy har). You what I would find more interesting? If you would just admit that your just another entitled, mediocre, over rated asshole whose career has coasted on milking drama and typical white male privilege?”
