@@KnitcroAddict no I didn't. I just measured myself from shoulder to shoulder and made a chain long enough making sure it was an even number so I was able to divide evenly for the front panels. ☺️. I do have a question for you.. I was trying to purchase the pattern for the green bag you made but it won't let me purchase it.. when I click on it, it brings me back to the main screen.. any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

I just found you on UA-cam. 😊. This is a very beautiful cardigan. So I decided to make it and it's decades from when I was crocheting last time. I bought exactly the same yarn and followed your instructions. I finished the back panel. It looks very small. It's 12.5" wide and 29.5 long. Your dimensions are respectively 19.42" and 36.92" bloked. Will my garment stretch this much after blocking or should I add few more raws. I'm size small too. Hope you can help me here. Thanks😊

This yarn and stitches used are very forgiving for this project. I don’t usually wash and block them before sewing them, but it’s always great to block them before you sew them as it relaxes the fibers and stitches. I’m just too impatient for it lol. Keep up the great work! ❤️

Hmmmmm... 61 chains seemed short to me, so I did 71 chains. I used a 10 size hook the same 6 bulky and the same color.

I’ve never made children’s sizes before, but I recommend using a sweater her size as a measurement.

I totally understand, it's not cheap but I prefer to use the yarn that I'll enjoy wearing. You can use any #6 bulky you prefer. Happy crocheting :)
Buy the yarn when it goes on sale in Michaels, sometimes 50% off, or use coupons and buy one or two a week. I have also used maybe 2 strands or worsted crocheted together to save money too.

I have a question.. I've finished the back panel 34 rows , my gauge is correct but mine is 32 inches long as you said but my width is only 14 inches wide, it's suppose to be 16 inches wide ?
Hi, I think you might crochet tighter then me, I recommend crochet 4 more rows and see how it will turn out. Let me know how it goes.
And if it work that’s mean you will have 38 rows for the back panel, so for the front panels you need to add 2 more rows for each panel .
I think you're right , I just ripped it out and started over , I bought the pattern , making a medium and crocheting with looser tension , I think it will be fine ... thank you for quick response:)

Same as you hook size 10 and i used same yarn , I loosened my tension. I think it will be fine now :)

Can I use one solid color and a k hook?
You can use one solid color as long as it’s 6 super bulky yarn. If you are very practiced at adjusting patterns, you could use a K hook, but if you have doubts, I recommend using 10mm. It will turn out much smaller if you follow this tutorial with a K hook.

Am I discriminating against XS? XL? M? I made a small because I wear a small. The pattern available for purchase includes sizes from XS-XXL. I don’t physically have the time to make free everything for everyone. I give a ton away for free, including patterns other than small, but I’ve got to eat too. I understand if people can’t or won’t pay for a pattern, so I’ve included the gauge. This takes work to figure out, on my part initially but also on your part, but it allows those that can’t/won’t pay an option to make any size they like. If this isn’t enough, then you’re only discriminating yourself. I’m sure there are lots of free patterns in your size available online. I hope you have better luck with them.
if im wrong you don't have to take a entire paragraphe to justify yourself. I now that take time but. my point is why a free written pattern for one size and other have to pay. all pay, or all free. if you don't take the critic, not my problem.
