    Update:
    I installed the same Tesla card on an older Asus motherboard, Maximus VIII Hero, I did the same as in the video above, but the card was not being recognize by the system. The issues was that it needed a BIOS update. After that, the card was recognized and I was able to install the drivers for it.

      @@Yoimiya22 If you changed the bios settings as in video, may be you have wrong drivers? P40 does not work with classic drivers, so you can't make P40 and, let's say 1060 or RTX 3060 work together with full driver support.

    Thanks much for your informative video. By the way, Is it ok for my HP workstation Z840 with PSU 1150W if I install Tesla k80 and Qaudro K5200 on the same motherboard? Is there any problem with the Software and the Power Source? Many Thanks!

    • @MyITWorkshop

      Hello,
      The Tesla k80 latest driver came in 2016, the Quadro K5200 has newer driver versions.
      There might drivers that work for both card, but Tesla drivers are optimized for compute workloads, while Quadro drivers are designed for professional graphics applications.
      About power, with a 1150W PSU you have more than enough.
      Hope it helps, ty for the comment!

    Hi. I have a tesla k10 and a geforce 650. I can install drivers for the 650 but not the tesla card. It doesn't seem to work. How did you get the geforce card working with the tesla card at the same time? A lot of videos and articles on the internet say it won't work.

      Hello,
      When i received my second hand tesla k80 it looked like it was damaged, i would connect it to the motherboard and the computer would not turn on, as shown in the video, then i installed it while I was logged to windows, it was not recognized by the system.
      As mentioned in the video, check that your PSU provides enough power for it, then verify that your Tesla gets warm, that means most likely it is working.
      Check you motherboard manual to see if there is feature you need to enable/disable/change in the BIOS.
      In my case my motherboard supports up to 3 Video cards, but realistically you can only install 2 due to physical space, my PSU provides 650 watts, i updated my BIOS version to the latest available.
      I went to my motherboard's, ASUS, website and looked for docs/comments about compatibility with the Tesla.
      Hope it helps
      Thanks for the comment

      Hi. Thank you for the video and the swift! reply. Another late night watching windows go round in circles installing and uninstalling drivers. Doh!
      The card definitely powers up and it does get a bit toasty in there. The motherboard allows me to select one of three slots to use for the display. I do think that you are right with respect to there being a bios option to change. There are advanced settings on my gigabyte gaming 99 motherboard bios and i just have to remember how to find them.
      I spoke to NVIDIA technical support and the chap told me categorically that you cannot install a geforce card with a 'grid card' at the same time. That is clearly nonsense as your video proves.
      I am thinking now that a bios setting will make windows look for a different driver.
      I'll post it when i get it working. It may be some time. Thanks again.

      Hey,
      The cable that comes with the Teska k80, in my case it did not come included, is 030-0571-000 For Tesla K80 P100 P40 M60 M40 CNUS.
      From you power supply, the cables needed are 2 PCIE. The ones used by regular GPU.
      Hope it helps.

    I think K80 is only supported by newer motherboards (with 4g decoding). On my Intel i5-7500 B250M-D3H it showed up in DevMan with errors [ERROR: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12)] but could not get it to work which is due to mobo not allocating enough resources to memory, also Nvidia Control Panel did not start at all.

    • @MyITWorkshop
      @MyITWorkshop  Рік тому

      Yes, 4g decoding is needed. Depending on the MOBO updating the bios version will add the feature.

      @MyITWorkshop  Місяць тому

      @@StarwarsHalofreak That would be 2 OSs. On 1 the tesla drivers are installed and on the other the RTX ones. The good thing about this setup is that each OS is using a different physical GPU.

      Hello,
      Normally, for motherboards released before the year the K10 was released, you ll need to update the Bios version, make sure you have enough power in PSU for the k10. Also, there might be a setting in the bios, depending on the motherboard model, to recognize the k10.
