This is a simple how to video on how to install a mishimoto intake on your 2015+ wrx. I hope this video helps you on your install journey.
This intake adds a much more aggressive tone to the vehicle, you will hear more induction noise and a louder blow off sound from your factory bypass valve.
This intake alone won't do a whole lot for performance but with a good tune it can help to some extent.
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Almost don’t need an exhaust with how loud that spool is!

Thank you! And they're both really good. My intake is perfect. If its 70° outside my intake temp is 68-70° so its perfect!
@@StreetInspired1 I just saw your video okay thank you sir that's great yea I was addicted to that sound and installed my turboxs BPV recirculating valve and thought I was gonna get some sound from it oh well I guess I'll install the mishimoto intake thank you sir for your feedback I'm looking forward to your next episode
@@Ruffpatch87 the BPV will eventually make louder noises it just has to get used to your stock internals.
Question do you have a blow-up valve or its stock?

Did you have to have the car tuned after you installed the mishimoto intake. I heard that using 91 octane fuel and no tune may harm the engine?
Shouldn't be running 91 if there are any engine mods.
Will the intake still make a sound without no tune at all?
Yes. You don't need a tune with a cold air intake lol. You're still running a maf sensor, the ecu is adjusting afr as you drive. It'll be fine
@@Fuaarrkk You absolutely WILL need a tune if you use Mishimoto's race intake. Their Performance intake does not require a tune, but without one you will see zero power gains.
You can hear induction noise on stock vehicles.
did you end up getting a AP tune with the mishimoto? im currently having trouble finding the map for it. no idea how much longer i can drive my car without the tune..
Well long story short I ran a cobb ots map with the intake for 1 week to hold me off until my etune. If you are planning on running the Cobb OTS map I would only recommend using their SF intake as currently thats the only intake they supply an ots map for, however depending what year wrx you have Mishimoto had an OTS map for their intake and it put out more power than Cobbs stage 2 ots map. If you can find it I believe it was only for 15-17 years. Sorry for the late reply!

So can you really use this intake without a tune?
Mishimoto did extensive testing to make sure it was safe on the stock tune. I actually emailed them about it a few years ago when I had my last wrx and they assured me it was 100% safe on the stock tune but you wouldn't really see any power gains without a tune. I actually got lucky because I found their OTS map for their intake that is now discontinued and it made more power than the cob stage 2+ ots map lol

Any idea why can’t I hear the intake noise on mine? I do hear the blowing noise though.
Thats strange. With the music off and windows up you should be able to hear the mishimoto intake and your bpv pretty good
That's super weird, it's easy to hear induction noise with a completely stock car.

It should sound exactly the same, you just won't hear the blow off unless you let your foot off after an acceleration.

@@Monsters-bs1vm mishimoto has tested this intake and it is perfectly safe on the stock tune. However if you plan on pr already tuned with a cobb accesport you will have to use the cobb sf intake or get a protune

is there a CARB sticker anywhere on the intake?
They have it metal plate sticker that you can lay flat anywhere you like on the air box, that just identifies the o.e. # they still have to look up if its still valid for your particular car year, make and model. D-759-3 is only good for 2015-2018 model years since there were revisions. If you're in Cali, you have to smog after 8years. the first 2015s made in 2014 might need testing in 2022. would be a good idea to get the PDF of the O.E. printed or on your phone as well for the visual inspection.
Would it be possible to buy that mishimoto OTS MAP off you?
I’m getting my install done now. I’m gonna run the MAP performance 1 tune for the COBB intake tune to hold me off. But you’d be doing me a major favor 😂
I dont have the OTS map for this car I had one a while ago for my 17. I have the Mishimoto OTS map for a 17 manual wrx and thats the only year it will work on.
Where do u buy like used car parts. Like that is trustworthy
What is wheel horse power?
is the horse power measured at the wheels, meaning Dyno. the numbers you get from the factory are measured at the Crank, meaning direct from engine. other method is at the Hubs, but that's basically the same as at the wheels.
Hmmm... you might want to use car stands.
it looks like you're only using a jack. Very dangerous.
I never get under a car without jack stands. Maybe it was just not visible in the video
