- Triumph is a Canadian hard rock power trio that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Eight of the band's albums were certified gold or higher, and Triumph was nominated for multiple Juno Awards, including Group of the Year Award in 1979, 1985, 1986 and 1987.
Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga, Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early to mid 1980s. The band was formed by Toronto music veterans Gil Moore (drums, vocals), Mike Levine (bass, keyboards, producer), and Rik Emmett (singer, guitarist, songwriter) in 1975.
I'd love to see more Triumph live, from the 70's. There's not much other than this.
The greatest band.
The greatest band!! In November Rik has a new album coming out that will feature Mike and Gil on 3 tracks. Can't wait to hear it.
Awesome!
2:14......LOVE it..."MIKEY LEVINE" !
Thumbs up if you think Gil's vocals are pretty cool...Rik is awesome, but Gil had a lot more exposure in the earlier days, and a good singer!
Yeah, Rik really held back on his voice. He really went high high like he did on later albums. Gil had that soulful voice. Rik had that high voice. I like them both.
😆 I was THERE! 1st concert I ever went to. I was 13.
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! they are the greatest ever
First concert I got to see without the folks tagging along... 1980, Progressions of Power tour. Shooting Star was the opener.
"Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame" Cleveland, OHIO!!! VERY VERY SOON!!!!
I love Triumph...but ya gotta love the cheesy over-hype in the beginning..lol....well, that was the '70s....and hell, they ARE a good band!
Please tell me, is this from a whole concert??
69stepe Most of those cuts are from Ontario Place concerts in 1978
Crazy, they're almost trying to sell Triumph as Canada's answer to, like, KISS or something. Hilarious.
KISS was jealous of Triumph. I'm dead serious. Triumph was FAR more musical than KISS could ever *hope* to be, and did it with much less hype and gimmick.
