The reason Pete was killed was ultimately because Deanna had a selfish reason to want him dead. Pete was hurting Jessie all that time and Rick suspected he might kill her eventually, but Deanna did nothing about it. She only finally gave Rick the okay when Pete directly affected /her/. Him killing Reg was an accident and he probably did intend to try to kill /Rick/ there with Michonne's sword, but because it was Reg of all people it made Deanna react differently than she had been up until that point. I get it and it's a very human reaction, but that's the only reason Pete died there. Deanna was the top authority and he personally wronged her (even if on accident), so she wanted him dead. If it had been /anyone/ but her family, she would have just gone with exiling him like she was saying before. In an unfortunate way, what happened had to happen for Deanna to really get what Rick was saying that whole time. She could only finally hear him because Pete's actions directly affected her and her family.
At the end of this episode, when Michonne says “ The horn sounds like it’s coming from...”, Rick then says “Home”. I always felt that meant something, Rick referring to Alexandria as home. Up until this point, I think he would have just called it Alexandria
That Lacey-walker had me dying here LOL!!! And I may be one of the few people that did think Rick's plan to test the fighting skills of the Alexandrian's was a pretty good test run. It's not like there's an easier way to do it. You have to think quickly on your feet and react, there's no time for fear cuz that's what gets you killed. Rick kept telling them over and over again way before this even happened. He said they all had to change their way of thinking and doing things. It's not like a horde came at them. It was like 5 walkers that came at Carter and his friends. There are more people with weapons than there walkers. They were fine. Morgan should've stayed put and let Carter and them handle it. I think that running in to help them only weakens them and makes them more afraid to try. It's like coddling a child. If they don't try, then they won't see their potential. Not sure how everyone else feels about this but that's my opinion. And I sure didn't like Morgan taking a stand against Rick like as if Rick was being reckless. He's trying to get them prepared especially at this crucial time when more people are needed to help with the huge horde of walkers in that quarry. Rick ain't got the time to bullshit around. And he even admitted it to Morgan in the "before" scene about how easy it would've been to kill some of those Alexandrians but he's willing to give them a chance to try and fight to live. But there are some that will die because they weren't willing to change, like Carter. I feel Rick. He's trying so hard with these people but they just keep pushing back and going against his plans to help them. He's been through it and then some. He's got so much experience that these people could learn from him. Sigh. And now you've reached the point of the ominous noise of the horn and the horde taking a detour. Oh boy. I guess we'll see how this horde plan will turn out in the next episode. Great way to start Season 6 huh? lol. Til then guys, PEACE! - Yvette
Zen Morgan is so frustrating. (Had to go back and delete a bunch because I realized it was a giant spoiler). Spoilers are frustrating, too. I agree with you. Rick knows what the rest don't want to admit. See one, do one, teach one.
Talking about the S5 finally and the Pete situation. He didn't show up to that meeting with Michonne's sword for no reason. He was a clear and present danger in that moment. If he just wanted to plead his case he wouldn't have shown up armed. He was intent on getting some vengeance. What I want to mention is Deanna. Not 12 hours earlier she was on her high horse named Self Righteous, declaring how they "don't kill people". I guess that's easy to say when the victim isn't one of your own. When it was her family though she was quick to sentence someone to death. She didn't have to consider the pros and the cons or weigh the morality of the situation then. I've never been sure how I felt about that. To be clear I was team Rick the whole way. Another great show you guys. Till next time, be well! ♡♡
Exactly. Up until that point, most of the Alexandrians didn't have major threat, after major threat happening to them. They must have had some losses, but not one right after another, and another.... And Pete could've (would've) killed Jesse or one of the boys with that sword (or gun, or knife, or a punch) just as easily (and unintentionally) as he did Reg.
I agree with what you said, because that's just the way it really is. Anybody who's against the death penalty, if something horrible happened, and they saw someone they loved get killed brutally right in front of them, they'd want the person who did it to be put down (or worse) too. Also agree with the other comment saying it's a her giving up leadership to Rick kind of thing. She does in a way blame herself, and in this episode it's clear Rick is now running things. Awesome shit all around
I believe Pete was coming to try and kill Rick. His whole "He's not one of us!!" comment as he walked up and Reg intercepted him. He wanted revenge on Rick.
@Feanor Except you're only looking at this episode. You've seen this whole season? I think right now Deanna's in total shock. It's like after Rick killed the claimers; that shot of him sitting by the car covered in blood. Shock. So she just goes along with whatever Rick says, so she doesn't have to think. All the characters do that in some way, because thinking is horrible. Especially in the immediate aftermath. Given some time, attitudes might change.
When Rick, Daryl, and Morgan appeared in the doorway to confront Carter, you knew the situation would be handled quick. I love how Rick and our group make a plan, and make it happen. They have each other's back no matter what.
If they put Eugene in a lab, he'd cure the disease eventually. He gives you that sense that he could figure out complex biological sequences and things. He's my favorite.
They're probably only going to be making, what? 3-4 more seasons of TWD? I stopped reading around what is now season 9 because I didn't want to ruin the show and especially the end.
Good luck with that. Comic spoilers are everywhere. Even in other Season 10 comment sections. And the closer they get to catching up, the worst it'll get with next episode spoilers, or recognizable (to us) quotes. The worst thing about it is that there are no moderators for current episodes to save us from next episode trailer spoilers & comic reader douches. I tried to ask Nikki & Steven about it once, and moths could have flown out of my comment (no response), and it seemed to get worse. So, I'll be leaving the comment section soon, because I'm tired of seeing it.
"This seems too easy."~Steve LOL. You called it! Welcome to season 6. Not much to comment on. I thought this episode was brilliantly shot. Giving everyone a little room to breathe and act. It's impossible to comment on your post discussion without spoilers. Just be ready for a good ol' time. Until next time, keep on keeping on.
Abe is one of my favorite characters of all time! His one liners are legendary! Also, there's an automatic trust between Rick and Morgan. They go back to the start. They trust each other no matter what. Notice how Rick pretty much automatically let's Morgan hold Judith, when he almost didn't even bring her into Alexandria. He doesn't trust a lot of people, and Morgan is one of them.
Abraham and Eugene together are such a joy. "So how in the holy hell did you manage to kill this truck?"..."An ignorance of rapid-firing weapons and a fully amped up state." ❤️🤣
It’s quite cool to think rick met Morgan season 3 and told Morgan he was at war with governor that he was gonna win , and they did Morgan must of had faith too to try find him
This is definitely a wild season opener! The contrast between Rick and Morgan is so interesting to watch. The threat of a large group of walkers suddenly becomes very real again, when we haven't seen that since the group arrived at Alexandria. This is definitely an exciting season! Can't wait to see your reactions to each episode.
Like you said, they live in world where they have make quick descisions. They put pete in another house do deal with it later. But thats the misstakes of the whole community by not handeling sith pete when they found out what he does to his wife and kids. He showed up at the meeting for wathever reason you may think but he had michonnes katana with him. He maybe didnt kill deanas husband on purpose but i doubt he showed up to make some sandwiches.
Exactly! I’m glad they finally understood the whole Rick situation thing! In the old world, Rick would be wrong. In this new world, Rick was right. It’s that simple…
My question is, what was Pete going to do with Michonne's katana? The fact that he was screaming that Rick wasn't one of them and he was running towards Rick makes me think he was going to kill Rick.
First off guys great reaction as always...so this Season is going to be a ride people who haven't changed in a couple seasons are going to change...please enjoy this season because "This New World" is gonna need Rick Grimes. This Season is going to change everything forever is all im gonna say. Keep up the great work.✌
Nice Season kickoff! Glenn “the professor”, Rick “Alexandria’s LEADER”, Abe being Abe, and the horde being diverted because of a misterious horn! Well, see you...until 6/2! By the way, I just love when Rick goes like “Do you know who you’re talking to?”
I’m late watching this (I gave birth to my first born on Tuesday) so I hope you guys see this but I’m curious who you think would win in a face off between Rick Grimes and Walter White? Love watching y’all and can’t wait for the next video!!!
Rick is the parent applying an absurd punishment to a kid starting to do drugs in order to save their life. Rick is just trying to save everybody.... and going a little overboard. Good point about the lack of jails and legal systems. It dates back to the Randle situation. What do you do under the circumstances. Great reaction.
Jails just aren't quite justified in the zombie apocalypse. Think of the resources needed to sustain prisoners/guards. A drunk tank? Sure. Ok. But long-term sentences? What a waste. 🧟
Love it how twice now Daryl has spoke rick out of killing someone , it’s hard to say whether Daryl has changed tbf , obviously he was a explosive idiot like Merle at the start but he became more chill and just killed if the person was a dick , Daryl clearly sees mercy
20:22 sure but if they exiled him he would have come back with a group just like governor and that was ricks point all along and he proved ricks point by showing up with Mishones Sword/Katana and killing leaders husband by accident (he would have done it any1 to any1 who stands in hes way), that's why u cant let certain type of ppl live in that type of a world, its sad fact of this type of world
There are so many similarities to this with GOT. Rick considers himself judge/jury/executioner but he has members of his group to pull him back in when he is too emotional. Dany was the same way. They are both "good" as long as people follow them and love them. We saw what happened when Dany lost that love. It will be interesting to see how Rick might handle such a situation. He is already down two (Lori and Shane).

Cheddah Slammer I see what your saying. But I still agree because at that point in the apocalypse that was their first encounter with another “civilization” and trying to make peace made sense at the time but this is also what taught them that some people just gotta die.
Wont say a word. But what an intense, awesome episode. I knew carter was gonna be an issue. The guy who wanted to kill Eugene and Rick. I still dont trust Nicholas.
They're both great characters. But we do love Samwell because Martin followed Tolkien's blueprint to make him totally devoted and loyal. Eugene is much more independent and well-rounded. But I like them both.🧟
This is not one of my favorite season premieres. It was good, but at the time it was aired, it took me so much away from what I was expecting, it took me a bit of time for me to get on board with the storyline. Seeing our group outside again, handling business helped to draw me in, tho. But, not being sure about certain Alexandrians running lose with attitudes, angst, & inexperience made me more worried than the actual walker threat...until the end. 😊🌺🏝️❤️
angie 808 well if you had some common knowledge of the comics like I did (I got into them during the mid season finale break of season 4 by watching ppl talk about them then you know what’s coming w/ that herd.
Hi I've been subscribed to you guys for a little bit. And I just wanted to know why are you guys making some of the scenes black and white 😐 just curious
"It's fine now..Why? Cause I am here to watch your reactions" 292nd like and 84th comment not to bad on this one..just kidding holy heck 292nd wow ...Carol just said to herself mental note "keep an eye on that Morgan character" ...Seems like Morgan is balancing Rick out..... that whole horde just jumped out of the frying pan into the oven can't wait to see you next reactions ...Great job Keep posting and i'll keep watching
Great discussion on figuring things out in a WROL (without rule of law) situation. I think, I would try to restrain porch Dick until the group could discuss it. More like what happened with Randle .
The black and white flashbacks aren't just visually striking; they're also a fun homage to the black and white graphics of the comics.
Also to the original b&w George A. Romero films
The shot of Darryl leading the walkers on his bike is one of the most iconic
scenes in the show! Great reactions!
Mhm I love that shot.
Any shot of Deryl on his bike is iconic.
😍 Be still, my beating heart
Rick is the man, Daryl is THE man ❤️

This is what I love about TWD. You could easily take Rick and Deanna, send them on each other's journeys; and end up with the same result.
Abe, "I think I still have pieces of brain in my ear". Sasha: "yeah, I hate that!".
Rick: "Hey Jessie. I hear you're single now."

Rick is so hot....
- Yes! You Guys Have Finally Made It To My Favorite Season (6).
do you have an upload schedule or is it random when walking dead episodes get released ?
It's Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
its the only season with that kind of feeling especially in the 2nd half. Second Best season
Wont say a word. But what an intense, awesome episode. I knew carter was gonna be an issue. The guy who wanted to kill Eugene and Rick. I still dont trust Nicholas.
Eugene/Samwell Tarley
😊🌺🏝️❤️
angie 808 well if you had some common knowledge of the comics like I did (I got into them during the mid season finale break of season 4 by watching ppl talk about them then you know what’s coming w/ that herd.

great reaction
Will there ever be a Coda Pt 2 reaction on the channel ever?
Great discussion on figuring things out in a WROL (without rule of law) situation. I think, I would try to restrain porch Dick until the group could discuss it. More like what happened with Randle .
