Also the fact that there is a deleted scene of Velma being a sexy slay queen while she was possessed because they KNEW the public would not be ready to handle the sexual awakening that Velma would’ve brought 💅✨

Edit: I’m really upset learning that is was suppose to originally be PG-13 and they removed all those scenes that would have made it even more iconic. Basically all the stereotypes surrounding the characters and original ideas the creators had would have been implemented if not for those meddling parents.
same i’ve literally watched the movie so many times and it’s nostalgic for me too. i do wonder if the movie had remained pg-13, how it would have affected me, especially being able to see lgbt representation on screen. i’ve had (and still have) enough of a girl crush on daphne as it is, i wonder how younger me would’ve reacted or thought of seeing her kiss another girl. although i do think that if it had remained pg-13, i might not have been allowed to see the movie nor would my country have allowed the movie to screen on tv, as they were super against lgbt stuff back then.

I think it's fun to mention that not only did Freddie Prinze Jr have a leading role in She's All That, Matthew Lillard had a supporting role; but also, Sarah Michelle Gellar is a cameo as well.
A classic we rewatch at least twice a year. It was part of my gay awakening for sure 😃 Velma and Daphne are iconic and the gay subtext was always there...someday we'll get the onscreen relationship we deserve 🌈 thank you Mike for appreciating this masterpiece
n hindsight this movie along with Charlies Angels was my gay awakening. I don't even know if I would have been able to process them actually canonically being gay in it 😅🙈
This movie is SO iconic one wouldn't be able to begin explaining why. This was the blueprint for daphne's character for the next years. About the "plotholes": I'm guessing the ones who left where saved when the soup got knocked out. About the evil coast guards I never understood them lmao, I think they were just joking and they actually sent help and thats why the police is there at the end.
my favorite part of this movie is when they don't have enough footage of daphne getting up after the monster dies so they just reverse her sliding down in the chair so she floats back up
I rewatched this film recently and thought I was losing my mind when the Can’t Take My Eyes Off You scene didn’t happen, and then I was harshly reminded that many of my favorite moments in this film were deleted scenes 😅 but it’s still a fun ride
The clutch of scooby doo movies that included zombie island usually had a real supernatural element that differentiated it from the shows non supernatural bad guys. I liked that the live action movie had that
Ok but putting aside the excellence of this movie and its cast, you have to admit that the Mystery Incorporated animated series was some of the best we have ever seen of the Scooby Doo Franchise. The overarching story and mystery with its darker themes had me hooked as a child like no other show at the time. Omg and the lore, the history, the backstories, the worldbuilding added to the fact that there were major stakes - honestly amazing imo. Not to mention the fact that this live-action movie was basically made canon to the series (which is both insane and incredible to think about) by reminding us of evil Scrappy Doo. Plus the characters had actual arcs and development, and even though Velma was straight once again, I still think it was fantastic for what it did have and to this day remains one of my favourite shows
I completely agree that Scooby Doo mystery Inc. is the best but actually Velma was supposed to be a lesbian in that show as revealed by the series creator which would have explained her strange relationship with shaggy and her weird behavior during that
The soundtrack for this movie was another level. The features??? - Destiny's Child, SHAGGY , Sugar Ray... I also know that in the animation Scooby Doo and Josie and the Pussycats have crossover eps and I feel like this movie, and the Josie and the Pussycats movie that came out the year before , are siblings.
I watched this movie every single day when I was 6. I knew all the dialogues and I still remember some of them. I always felt a little bit ashamed when I told people this is one of my favorite movies ever, but I'm glad this iconic piece of cinema is getting the recognition it truly deserves. Also, Velma singing Can't Take My Eyes Off You while drunk then dancing in a bikini in the locker room... boy, did that sprout new emotions in me. On a completely different note, what's this mic you use, Mike?
Honestly, out of all the live action adaptations of any franchise, book, etc., Scooby Doo (well at least the first two movies, not the ones with Hayley Kiyoko in them, although her being queer and then Velma being queer later on is the fruitiest foreshadowing I have ever seen and we love to see it,) is the one of the very few, if any, that DID NOT age poorly. I grew up watching these two movies on VHS when I was a toddler and I loved them! P.S. Le Sserafim's Antifragile instrumental intro is iconic.

Ngl as a kid when I first saw this in theaters and it started with the team breaking up I had the same reaction as Scooby-Doo lol I was like "wait what nooooo don't break up, the movie just started! I just got here!" But it felt really satisfying how they came back together at the end I love this movie lol also the dead chicken sacrificing guy is an icon, a legend, and he is the moment now come on now. Stopped his chicken sacrifice to sacrifice the wig glue holding Daphne's lace front on her head
theres actually a conspiracy that james gunn hated scrappy as a character so much (that part is confirmed) that he wrote him into this movie as a way to kill the character and not have him in any new scooby doo stuff. MUCH to think about
I have so many fond memories of this movie. My little sister and I watched it on FaceTime together when I first moved away for college. It’s truly, dare I say, iconic.
The DVD bonus features for this movie shaped my brain as a kid. Like my earliest memory was of seeing this movie in theatres, like it was such an incredible movie that my brain was like okay I think we are ready to exist now and then when my family bought it on DVD I spent like 80000 hours on that bonus features claw machine. Also I'm pretty sure velma and daphne in this movie are the reason I'm gay. I live by the doo and die by the doo.
i can’t believe you didn’t talk about the rest of the deleted scene with velma singing can’t take my eyes off you and dancing on the piano and then the barman being like that was a non alcoholic drink
omg the scooby doo and supernatural episode, yes. the way I would live my best life if mike ever made commentary on supernatural. I fear its not slay enough but mike's mic could make anything slay
The Supernatural crossover with Scooby Doo is one of my favourite episodes EVER 😂 it's magnificent, I still rewatch it from time to time just for the laughs ❤️

Most iconic film. Most iconic commentary. Mike you left no crumbs, in fact you ate the whole plate.
love how you can tell when mr. microphone is obsessed with a meme like he is running that dog TO THE GROUND
✨
The frame of Scooby-Doo smiling with the subtitle: [belches] at the bottom of the screen is truly one of the most iconic images I've ever seen.
the pure and raw talent that goes into including so many internet memes and references should have an award - also, was that antifrgaile in the beginning? mike is a fearnot CONFIRMED??
Ngl as a kid when I first saw this in theaters and it started with the team breaking up I had the same reaction as Scooby-Doo lol I was like "wait what nooooo don't break up, the movie just started! I just got here!" But it felt really satisfying how they came back together at the end I love this movie lol also the dead chicken sacrificing guy is an icon, a legend, and he is the moment now come on now. Stopped his chicken sacrifice to sacrifice the wig glue holding Daphne's lace front on her head
Yessssss back with more Mike's mic content!!! Slayed as usual and the feral dog image is killing me 😭
this man is so effortlessly hilarious, I genuinely laugh at things he didn't even intend to be jokes.
Rewatched this recently and I was blown away by the detail in every set piece! It’s so consistent and unique. All the sound stages were just so good.
it's not just a 2000s movie, it's a lifestyle.
theres actually a conspiracy that james gunn hated scrappy as a character so much (that part is confirmed) that he wrote him into this movie as a way to kill the character and not have him in any new scooby doo stuff. MUCH to think about
I have so many fond memories of this movie. My little sister and I watched it on FaceTime together when I first moved away for college. It’s truly, dare I say, iconic.
Awww
so glad that SOMEONE's brave enough to speak on the best film of all time
Sometimes when ads start running during a mikes mic video and I’m not looking, I just assume it’s part of the video, and I kinda love that
The choke hold that this movie still has on me today is too much
Hurry 🎊 you just got yourself something from me
Send me a message above to claim your prize
.....🎆
You were much missed but seeing the velmafication for this blockbuster of a hit movie makes up for it
Love how Mike is always coming in clutch on reviewing things you have forgotten about
The Scoobynatural episode is actually iconic don’t lie
mike needs to do a vid on it ASAP stayc girls realness
S Tier for sure!!! i was scrolling for a minute looking for someone thinking this same thing lol i got worried i was the only one
literally it's like the one of the best things from both franchises in recent years
the rewatchability of these videos are INSANE💅🏼
This video is my roman empire I've watched it too many times since its been uploaded
I live by the doo and die by the doo.
this film is literally so good. the cast is just impeccable
I refuse to believe this movie is TWENTY YEARS OLD.
Stop that's so upsetting
Not her being my age, I'm gagged.
the use of the chihuahua pictures literally make me laugh everytime with out fail 😭💀
"The gang's on their improv shit. They're like "Yes and?"" absolutely sent me to the stratosphere. I had to rewatch it like three times.
probably the only youtuber out there who consistently laughs & puts me in a good mood😭❤💕
i can’t believe you didn’t talk about the rest of the deleted scene with velma singing can’t take my eyes off you and dancing on the piano and then the barman being like that was a non alcoholic drink
The level of slay in this video is diabolical, its serving Bailey Mills levels of Velma 🥵😳
I LOVE BAILEY OH MY GOD
i still can’t believe how iconic this video is. literally something for the history books
You are correct in that after this movie, Matthew Lillard has done Shaggy's voice in basically everything for years and years.
omg the scooby doo and supernatural episode, yes. the way I would live my best life if mike ever made commentary on supernatural. I fear its not slay enough but mike's mic could make anything slay
The Supernatural crossover with Scooby Doo is one of my favourite episodes EVER 😂 it's magnificent, I still rewatch it from time to time just for the laughs ❤️
