Kudos and shout out to my friends Curt and Sam who help me in case I don’t have a certain episode. Curt was a huge help in allowing this episode to be seen with end credits. Thank you fine gentlemen!
Jason and Greg are also some of my friends who also help with these episodes. This project is not complete without a total team effort. Thank you all for helping contribute to this beast of a project!
@@MatchGameProductions Thank you, and thanks to your friends too. I am really enjoying this trip through the 70s. I believe I have watched every episode you have posted, since you started on MG 73 several months ago.
End-of-week H/H match recap: ... Today's action: Another day, another new champion. Audience match question: "________ Bam" (Doesn't that seem a lot harder than usual?) The celebs: Richard (Bam), Charles (Bim Bam), and Brett (Slam) Gene: "You got a better answer in your head?" Contestant: "Heavens, no!" - Indeed. Charles was right - this has got to be the single hardest/weirdest audience match I've seen yet. The choice: Bam The answers: Bim, Wham, Bam She deserves every penny of that $500. Now who will she choose for a shot at $5000? (As if there's any doubt...) Yes, Mr. Dawson is chosen again, for the 360th time so far... Today's H/H question: "Tree _________" I immediately thought of house and nothing else good came to mind. Richard wrote quickly, but I couldn't get a sense of how long his answer was. The contestant is anything but confident. She's shaking her head. "The first thing I thought of was trunk," she says. Now that I hear it, it's not a bad answer. I still think tree house is better, though. Yup. He wrote "house." -- I guess if Richard said it, it must be the definitive answer! No match today. And this is Richard's third consecutive miss this week... (Not terribly unusual. He recently missed 4 in a row in episodes 607-611.) So our week comes to a close with only 4 H/H matches this time. (A long game precluded one on Monday, and a failed audience match on Tuesday robbed us of a second H/H match that day). Of the 4 this week, only 1 was successful: Richard 0/3, Charles 1/1 This is first week in a long time (since 571-575!) when any stats other than Richard's have actually changed on the big leader board, because recently the only non-Richard celebs to have played the H/H match have fewer than three total matches (and so aren't on the big board yet). Looking backward in order, Isabel Sanford (three times in a row, 625 and 624), Clifton Davis (601), Joe Silver (599), and Mary Ann Mobley (585) were the only non-Richard stars chosen lately. Brett (573) was the last leader board celeb other than Richard to play until Charles had a turn this week in 628. So for me at least, it was definitely a welcome change and a bit exciting to see Charles play again, plus his was the only winning H/H match all week. Considering his track record (a good deal better than Richard's), he is rarely chosen. Part of the reason may be is that he often (not always) gives silly or unhelpful (or bad) suggestions when called on for the audience match. (Today's suggestion for "______ Bam" is a case in point, although I hardly blame him punting on that silly question.) And so Marcia wraps up her sixth week (of 18) without ever playing a H/H match. (I actually think she would do fine at it.) Elaine finishes her 13th week (of 26 total) with her stats unchanged: She's 1/1 (Proving that despite her silliness, she is indeed capable of matching when it really counts.) And Jimmie completes his fourth week (of 7) without being called on again, although he has played one time in the past (no match, unfortunately). He's actually an above-average player for that first seat. He matches a reasonable amount, and doesn't give too many really dumb answers. Those first-seat celebs are sometimes dreadful when it comes to actually matching, sometimes going an entire week without a single match. Looking ahead, we have another week of all "veterans." (I'm glad. I prefer familiar faces and returning celebs to big-name panelists who will only appear for a single week): --All the regulars are back. --Fannie takes her semi-regular spot in the sixth seat. --Bill Daily returns for his fourth week (of 15 total). He's already 2 for 2 in the H/H match department, so one more match will "promote" him to the big leader board! I'd love to see it, but I don't have high hopes. Richard just seems to be *the* choice for the majority of contestants. --Lee Meriwether rounds out the panel, back for her third week (of 12). She hasn't yet played the H/H match. Finally, here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Fannie - 52.6% (10 wins in 19 attempts). Betty - 46.9% (15 wins in 32 attempts). Charles - 46.5% (20 wins in 43 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 40.3% (145 wins in 360 attempts). Brett - 38.0% (19 wins in 50 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 630, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
I’ve found that the higher up they are, the more stupid they are. It’s like you can’t work your way to the top in television unless you’re: 1.) An idiot, and 2.) A hateful @zzh0le.
Wow!! CNR was looking sharp in his 3 piece suit and tie. I couldn't believe that no one commented on his natty threads. Not even the fashion conscious Mr. Rayburn. ( Jealous perhaps?)
Kind of a slow week here but Charles win the week for the regulars giving away 5,250 dollars in audience match and head to head match matches with 8 matches. Jimmy won for the semi regulars with 5 matches. Richard gave away 1,000 dollars and Brett gave away 500 dollars in audience match matches.
Every girl got DRUNK (not very original, but ... Oh, I should have said kissed - no matches) The rabbit's foot had ATHLETE'S FOOT (four matches) Every morning he still SALUTES (second answer: exercises - at least four matches, couldn't see Richard's card. I guess it's like they say, go with your first instinct.) BAM BAM (as in Fred Flintstone's son before getting help, and after hearing Richard, I guess I'll stick with it - Wow! $500 match) Tree STUMP (Bzzt!) Set a bomb in Clark's TOILET (first thought was phone booth, but he didn't really own one - zero matches)
Wow easy there Sir. It's 2023 and Mr. JJ Walker is selling extended auto warranties on daytime cable TV. If that's not staying power I don't know what is! LoL
love how elaine says "no tongue", and reveals he's done it before, it amazes me gene rayburn was married the whole time. i guess it's where dawson got all his kissing from. would not care for it if it was my wife or girlfriend. and i still find it hard to believe it was acceptable even back then.

This is also Richard Dawson’s final daytime mustachioed episode. He appears clean shaven from this point onward.
CNR was rocking it this episode.
"Wham Bam Thank You Mam".
Bam Bam
The Flintstones aired in 1960. So why is Bam Bam such a shock?
Current events and pop culture wasn't a strong point on this panel. Broadway plays and show tunes they'd know all about it.
14:41 " Here's the last chance for Bam Bam. EARL Slide it."
Charles looks amazing!
It was a sad day when a TV executive canceled the Match Game.
I’ve found that the higher up they are, the more stupid they are. It’s like you can’t work your way to the top in television unless you’re: 1.) An idiot, and 2.) A hateful @zzh0le.
7:20. That look CNR makes cracks me up!!!!
First! Charles looking sharp this episode! Marcia's dress very pretty too, color a favorite of mine. 🤗
Been waiting for this one. This might be my favorite CNR moment! ‘Bim Bam Man! You can find it all your stores!’ XD Classic Charles!!
Lol
Notice how much more smoothly the questions go when Brett isn't interrupting and asking for rereads...
That is so true
THE AVERAGE BEAR whats the operative word in your comment lol
Edward Lozano but she did?
Wow!! CNR was looking sharp in his 3 piece suit and tie. I couldn't believe that no one commented on his natty threads. Not even the fashion conscious Mr. Rayburn. ( Jealous perhaps?)
I was wondering if he had a date that night.
Makes his bed is actually an excellent answer. If you understand. 😉
This aired the day I was born... 🎂

1. Jimmie Walker
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Elaine Joyce
5. Richard Dawson
6. Marcia Wallace

yes, in this particular episode Brett was idiotic

The infamous "bed jacket" episode 👌
Go Charles!

Jimmie Walker, a flash in the pan no talent

Good thing spelling doesn’t count, because I though Barney and Betty’s kid’s name was spelled Bamm Bamm.
ROFL!! Another good episode but is that a new suit??
That's what I was thinking...

You are right, Gene was a perv.
So you have proof that he did this and made Richard do it too, or just assuming shit cause she said no tongue jokingly?
D for effort though.
Another time, another place.
There are episodes where he's got his mouth all over a woman's neck for more than a few seconds. A lot can be assumed from that.
Gene's disgusting with his kissing, but I think Elaine was joking. Gene was married and I don't think he do that
Gene: "Wham Bam. Hmm I have never heard that one." hahaha
This is an easy game. Nice game to chill on.
No tongue! Yuck.
It was a joke on a comedy show. Easy does it tiger.
Elaine was the best..
I don't know why the audience booed Jimmy's answer of kissed, isn't that what alot of people do at midnight?
I cant watch these with Jimmy he's so loud and obnoxious
I think you mean Bret is loud and obnoxious, Jimmie is pretty funny
@@patcrites5274 I meant Jimmy although yeah Brett is too lol. I loved Good Times though.
Imagine JJ Walker, Brett Sommers, Gary Burghoff and Kaye Stevens on the same panel.
Gene looks like Abraham Lincoln
Am I the only one who thinks Marcia makes Karen Carpenter look like Della Reese?
Also, I'm pretty sure the Hawaiian contestant was a Fafafini 🤔
What can you possibly mean by Marcia making Karen carpenter look like Della Reese?
