I am all for neutral and repeating outfits based on your personal style, but I also think you need a few more interesting pieces, which still pair easily with your existing wardrobe, in my case a vintage blue and red gingham shirt, a vintage Reiss brown floral shirt (small pattern), a pussybow blouse (vintage Primark, just £10, I have it in both dusty rose and off-white), definitely a pop of colour (red, aqua, cashmere jumpers with subtle stripe trim/rainbow/stars). Accessories are a must to elevate and personalise a capsule wardrobe (hats, caps, scarves, neckties, jewellery, tights/socks, handbags). I love suede/nubuck handbags and footwear, never leather. A faux fur coat/jacket or simply a collar or scarf (see how Carolyin Bessette-Kennedy wore hers) look luxurious and don't have to cost much (my vintage faux fur coat from Primark gets a lot of compliments and was just £33 2 years ago).

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment! I love how you've found your perfect balance with neutral basics while incorporating special pieces that bring you joy. Your vintage finds sound absolutely lovely - especially that gingham shirt and the Reiss floral piece! Having run a vintage clothing business for 10 years myself, I have such appreciation for unique vintage treasures.
I particularly love your point about accessories being crucial for personalizing a wardrobe. They're such a brilliant way to add variety and personal flair while keeping your core pieces simple and versatile. And what a fantastic approach to faux fur pieces! It's wonderful how you've found ways to add luxury touches while being mindful of both ethics and budget. That £33 Primark coat sounds like an amazing find!
The beauty of developing a stress-free wardrobe is that it can take so many different forms - whether that's through carefully chosen pops of color, special vintage pieces, or statement accessories. The key is finding what brings you joy while making getting dressed each day easier. Thank you for sharing your approach - it's a wonderful example of how personal and unique everyone's journey to a functional wardrobe can be! 💕

I totally get what you mean! 😊 The amazing thing about retro sneakers is that they're actually so much more than a trend. They're absolute classics that have stood the test of time! Their gorgeous vintage shapes and timeless designs are exactly why we keep falling in love with them decade after decade. It's like they've got this magical quality that just never gets old, you know? That's what makes them truly special. Trust me, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon! 💫

The most import thing to me, too, is quality natural-fiber fabrics and materials. If an item doesn’t have this, I just won’t consider it. Then, I keep to my, fairly wide, color palette and ideally, timeless, classic but modern styles. I do my best on this last criterion; many items, if not most, will eventually look dated. But, all extreme trends can be avoided, this helps a lot. The current one-legged “pants” trend is a good example of what not to buy. Thanks, like your channel a lot 🙂

Thank you for this thoughtful comment! You're absolutely right about natural fibers being non-negotiable - they really are the foundation of a quality wardrobe. And yes to steering clear of extreme trends like those one-legged pants! It's great to see others who understand the value of classic, timeless pieces. Your point about avoiding trendy items that quickly look dated is spot-on. Do you have any favorite natural fiber brands you've found particularly reliable? ✨

I fell over your website today and was so impressed I subscribed after watching the 2nd video (this one). Love the clean, no BS presentation and all the images. Living in Australia we are always half a year behind the trends so by the time something like Sambas become popular, they're already difficult to find. I'm not a fashion slave but I do think shoes are the easiest way to stay current without spending a truckload of $. PS:I wouldn't change anything about your videos but if I was to be picky it would be about promoting a mass producer of fast fashion brand like ASOS. I've bought from them in the past and it's all ended up in landfill. Thank you.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment! I'm happy you're enjoying the clear, straightforward approach. As a German, I believe in getting straight to the point ☺️. The insight about Australian trends being 6 months behind is fascinating! And you're absolutely right about shoes being a smart way to stay current without spending too much - that's such a good point.
P.S. Regarding ASOS, I've had similar experiences in the past! These days I'm super picky when shopping there because yes, it can be quite overwhelming with so much on offer which can make it hard to focus on quality and longevity! That's actually why I developed a wardrobe system to help with purchase decisions. I'll introduce it in my next video. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!✨

Thank you - looking forward to it. The styling element I find the most difficult are bags. Probably because I don't particularly care for them and I can never find what I want which is something practical (i.e. cross body for safety, large enough to hold a drink bottle, phone etc but not so large it's overwhelming), and will last the test of time, without breaking the bank.)

    • @Bridget.Fisher
      @Bridget.Fisher  20 днів тому

I completely understand the challenge of finding the perfect bag. When it comes to quality and longevity, I've found real leather to be the best investment - it truly lasts forever and actually gets more beautiful with age. Any scratches can either be polished out with leather balm or left to add character. I also prefer bags without visible logos or branding since they have a more timeless, classic look. For your practical needs (cross-body, space for essentials but not overwhelming), a well-made leather bag could be ideal since it will stand up to daily use while staying functional and stylish.✨☺️

What tool do you use to capture the the clothes mix and match? I am thinking about creating my own dashboard like this whenever I check my wardrobe so I never run out of outfit ideas.

I use Canva for creating these outfit visuals! You might want to try Pinterest too. You can make collages to put the outfits together and then save them to dedicated boards in your account. It's a great way to build your own outfit library ✨

    Hello there!
Really loving your Chanel I think you are super cute and knowledgeable thank you for your wonderful advice.
Would you say these choices of snickers apply to men style as well or do you have better stylish options to spice up a middle age man 😊

I love your makeup ! A little confused because your coloring appears to be Spring color season. Black with your softer features is definitely not your best neutral. Not even close. Not that you can’t wear black but I think it is overwhelming on you and does not allow your beautiful soft features to shine. My neutrals as a Spring are khaki , ivory, camel, dark, camel. Accents are cobalt /bright navy, warm reads, pale warm/pink.

Ahh thank you so much for your sweet compliment about my makeup! 🥰 And I really appreciate you sharing such thoughtful color analysis too. You clearly have such an eye for this! You're absolutely right about the Spring palette - I've actually got some khaki and camel pieces I adore. The thing is, even though I totally get what you mean about black being overwhelming (and navy being more flattering), I just can't quit black! 😄 There's something about how bold and dramatic it feels that just makes me feel so good in it, you know? Color analysis is such a fascinating topic. I've actually been wanting to make a video about how we balance color theory with personal style and emotional connection to certain colors. Thanks for sparking such an interesting discussion! ✨PS: the accent color I use personally use is a bold red

I guess "style" is dead. Those people look the same and look hella boring.

    • @Bridget.Fisher

Having a stress-free, timeless style might seem boring to some, but that's exactly what makes it so effective. A curated wardrobe that works well together makes getting dressed effortless while looking put-together every day. Different approaches work for different people - this timeless, low-stress approach is what works perfectly for me ✨
