Tyr i Just wanted to say thank you... This Song was my Song at the age of 17yo. Every morning i Heard exactly that Song to wake Up and Go to Work Till Today now im 32 🤘❤️❤️
Imagine a child who was born on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, in a country called Brazil, which has a completely different culture and customs... Suddenly he hears about Vikings and their great conquests... And at the height of his innocent adolescence, He starts to become obsessed with Norse culture and everything that involves their mythology and customs... hahaha I thought I could be a Viking! Tyr and Amon Amarth made me develop a strong affection for these people and all their history... at the time I learned to read in runes and spent hours reading and rereading the poetic eddas and the prose eddas... It was a very good time lol Adult life reminds me fondly of this phase! 🤩🤩
This is fantastic. It has the special Tyr feeling and sound! The interesting rythmic scheme really works well here. The classic Tyr choir which I love!
Tradition transformed into the 21st century in perfection! Tough I can´t understand one bit (and that´s the best part of it) you feel how the strength of time is whispering to you!
Kvaedi (all of them) - to me the best songs of TYR , and because of TYR , and Folk , I want to learn Sweden after Hebrew, it wouldn't be the best mix native Russian, Hebrew and Sweden))) Hi from Israel ❤)
I remember hearing this among the first things by Týr. It was that *I understand nothing but it's so catchy* feel. Gradually, it was this and your other similar tracks that got me into nordic folk and scandinavian poetry. Did not know it at the time, yet. It remains a powerful song and album🤘
There is a longer plot in this ballad that is not borne out in the verses we have included here. The original ballad is much longer. Basically, royal intrigues in the court of medieval Norway.
look up the name with "lyricstranslate" - their translations are generally decent on the english end, for helping you understand the song's contents. i have no idea how apt they are in regards to the Faroese, though.
I am a heathen atheist, if that means anything. I don't believe that the gods exist in person, but I have great respect and regard for Nordic tradition. - Heri

I just lost my uncle Thorstien… he has crossed the rainbow bridge to join Odin in Valhalla. You will be missed!
Sorry for your loss! Till we all meet again at Odins tables :)
Been listening for half my life, warms a pagan soul! keep it up, SKÅL!
This is my favourite one. Where are the Lyrics from? Is it from the long Foroya Ballad?
Thanks. Yes, Torsteins Kvæði is a longer Faroese ballad.
This reminds me of alot of there older songs. Whish I knew Swedish not just English. So many of my favorite bands including Tyr are from Sweden.
Really?! :D We're very happy you like us Swedish bands so much. Nothing quite like Swedish metal, is there ;)
Well tried lmao, but their country is quite (well a lot) smaller
@Haxkarl oh cool, still like the music though.
de repente, me dio ganas de forjar una espada
Always wondered what this song was about - I do recognize a few words here and there but I couldn´t grasp the meaning.
There is a longer plot in this ballad that is not borne out in the verses we have included here. The original ballad is much longer. Basically, royal intrigues in the court of medieval Norway.
@@Tyrband Thank you, Heri or Gunnar
Can I find the translation anywhere?

Old Classic?
Yes :)
Or any of you in the band actually heathens
