DQ11S - max damage with every character / weapon (info in desc)

- all characters have 999 strength / 900 magical might (when applicable). i spent a long time getting all the clips for this and double-checking everything .. i was originally only trying to figure out the max damage that could be dealt with 1 attack, then decided to do this for every character, and then every weapon / skill group.
Pep Powers are excluded bc it would've been overly complicated

Vicious Skelegons are the only monsters in Act 3 that have a 2x elemental weakness (all other monsters only go as high as 1.5x). Act 3 is important so that Serena knows Doleful Dirge. Alizarin is 2x weak to lightning, but Act 2 only.
Golems and Coralossuses are the only monster lines that can use Forbearance. all of the Coralossus line are 1.5x weak to wind, and the Coralossus in the Secret Trial is accompanied by 4 other monsters. no other Coralossus encounter has more than 3 other monsters present, and there can never be more than 2 Coralossuses in a battle due to their size. Glacial Golems are 1.25x weak to fire, and there is 1 encounter at the Sniffleheim Whaleway Station where there are 5 other monsters present. there can be up to 3 Golems in 1 battle.
a couple of these clips are done in 2D mode due to battle mechanic differences. Pep can increase strength past 999 in 2D, and Lashings of Love hits twice (which is likely a bug / oversight). Unbridled Blade is really weird in 2D mode and the damage stops scaling after a certain point, so i had to use Cutting Edge with Hero (his 2D Cutting Edge can out-damage his 3D Unbridled Blade). for all the characters that get increased strength from Pep, all of their max damage can't be done in 2D mode because multi-hit attacks stop hitting after an enemy dies. so for example, if you use Falcon Slash and the 1st hit deals enough damage to kill, then the enemy disappears before the 2nd hit and you can't see the full damage.. so only certain attacks could be done in 2D mode, despite all of them being thechnically stronger in 2D with Hero, Erik, and Sylvando
sorry if im terrible at explaining things for anyone that read this lol. this video was fun to make. also, this isn't representative of what skills / abilities are necessarily better or stronger than others. for example, Wild Animaul has a very high damage multiplier but the damage potential is held back because there are no elemental claws. same for Jade's Hardclaw etc (Hardclaw is actually her best move if you have 999 strength)

Yeah A nice reasonable 47000 damage
If Veronica gets her magic skill to proc twice serious damage. Plus Slyvando give her two turns if that proc twice as well Eric is lower than her in damage output. Only difference hers is luck based.
There's also the fact that the enemy can die before she gets to do all that
Hmm. Maybe. Her Echo passive and her magic crits can be nuts, but don't have a high chance of triggering.
2:40 How Veronica's Kaboomle splits into 6 hits? Mine just 1. So does Serena's Kaswooshle 2 hits.

mb, yes i seeded the shit out of every character to have 999 attack / magical might etc. the weapons equipped dont really matter bc they all have 999 attack anyway
a lot of this is just taking advantage of elemental weaknesses with elemental weapons + Doleful Dirge and Oomphle/Sap to add as many multipliers as possible

How / where you farm the seeds of skill and magic?
seeds of skill can be farmed from malicious great keepers in the Dundrasil area, but they only appear when it is raining
where do you get that sylvando outfit in the 2nd clip
in Act 3, go to Puerto Valor and speak to Don Rodrigo.
after finishing the quest, speak to the butler standing in Don Rodrigo's room near the door, & he'll give you the outfit

Does this mean that at least damage wise that Hendrik is overall better than hero?
if both characters have 999 attack, then yeah. Hendrik's Gyrafalcon Slash is stronger than any of Hero's moves

Since 999 is the max strength, once you've reached that all attacks will do the same. But with dual wielding it is two attacks

Late to the party I know, buuuut…
Luminary is actually pretty alright. They don’t do things AS good as some other characters. But they’re the best adapting on the fly. Heck they have a heal that tops up the ENTIRE team. Not to mention a for sure Rez.
Which, yes, if you want a Healer Serena does that the same exact way.
But. Of the two, who’s got more staying power in an extended dangerous bout? Serena is able to be one shot by a passing fly let alone a big ol dragon looking at her and thinking ‘Yeah I know how to screw up this guy’s gameplan.’
Hero is individually, not the best.
But saying he sucks is a VAST understatement of their utility.
Done right, they’re almost as tanky as Hendrick, can heal like Serena, and if ya really need to they have some big group clearing spells like Veronica. Can’t reach all the same stupidly high numbers others can, but… That’s kinda fine, they’re able to help everyone else do their job better.
How? Ive been feeding these guys attack nuts for weeks and they don’t come even close to that. In my game Erik has 999 attack power. Can someone explain this to me?
i used Oomphle / Sap and elemental weapons against enemies with the highest elemental weaknesses. Serena's Doleful Dirge can further decrease elemental resistance too

this mainly just takes advantage of elemental weaknesses / damage multipliers to get higher numbers. it doesnt really represent any consistent damage output, just the max damage which is possible under various specific circumstances
Does Veronica not do more damage with magic burst rather than Kaboomle?
Magic Burst ignores Forbearance, so it would only hit once
Kaboomle also has higher damage-potential than Magic Burst if you're targeting an enemy that is weak to light and has decreased spell-resistance / Doleful Dirge etc
