SCP-150 is an obligate parasite that resembles the tongue-eating louse, but is adapted to form conjunctive symbiotic relationships with humans for a period of its lifespan. Upon contact with a human subject, SCP 150 embeds itself deeply in the flesh of its host. Over the course of approximately seven days, SCP150 will burrow into the host and affect numerous physiological alterations.

For a moment I thought it was comical that he pretty much just ignores the bug appendage where his arm used to be. But then I realize that it may be possible that the parasite did something with his brain or the chemical processes inside it to make the host view most of the transformations as normal. And that’s just terrifying, not even realizing what’s happening to you.

My answer to the ship of Theseus is that the determiner gives the answer. If all the parts are replaced and Theseus owns it, it is still the ship of Theseus. The analogy in this case roughly translates to Theseus legally owning the ship, but the parasite is the captain of it.

Tongue bug is why the salmon plant I used to work at has such hard core anti-partisite regs. I don't have the education to know what all of them with all their numbers are but one of them for the handwash station seems to be basically a nerve agent for bugs, and you can watch flies try land in it and instantly belly up spasming

@@qwert28077 It is because the parasites take over the whole body (including the brain), but it only changes the appendage that was first bitten. the infected host takes no notice of it until somebody points it out to them, but they dont seem to mind the changes that the infected limb went through.

I like how you do the underrated ones. Everyone can support the SCP foundation by supporting the lesser-known SCPs. I think you are the one who inspired so many people to love these underrated SCPs. I also try to help the foundation, so if you want I can write here first 100 SCPs in order for inspiration on new videos :)

Depending on the bugs life cycle, this could have incredible applications. Maybe the insects could even be genetically modified to act in a more symbiotic manner

Technically is already symbiotic it allows you totally control of the insect limbs and it doesn't hurt you. It even makes sure you keep your consciousness and kinda turns you immortal you aren't even trying to hurt anybody either.
