Hey man, nice videos, keep it up! One question, how did you get so many red stars weapons? I'm f2p and struggling to upgrade, do you have any tips? Cheers!
Thank you! So, although I am not f2p, I can tell you that I've only spent a little. In fact, 80% of my spending has been on the passes. (I've spent about $80 in total) That disclaimer aside, what you see in the video was almost solely from saving my crystals and spending them all when Sephiroth's banner first came out. I think in total I used 36,000 crystals on that banner, plus about 20 regular ticket draws. I had 30k saved and then I spent the next 6k that I earned also on that banner. And when you pull, make sure you are setting the weapons you want on the wishlist. It seems like I have a lot in the video bc I had preemptively filtered my weapons by character for Barret, Aerith, and Seph, so you are seeing all of the Seph weapons I got from those pulls for the most part. I did also buy 1 copy of the edged wings with 5k red crystals, which I kind of regret now tbh. I will be using this same strategy on the next banner I like, which is why I am not pulling on the Aerith/Matt banner. I have 24,920 blue crystals as of typing this reply, so hopefully I'll be able to do about 8-10 pulls on the next banner I like.
Okay, I've run some tests and this is what my results were using my Seph as the target against Octaslash. Low potency Buff: 9.2% less dmg Mid Potency Buff: 21.2% less dmg High Potency Buff: 30.6% less dmg. These results were just running the battle until Seph got targeted by the first use of Octa 4x, one for base with no buffs, and so on and so forth. So, there could be some variance that I'm not accounting for, but I think a rough guess is 10%, 20%, 30% dmg red. on the potencies for def buff. In my tests, he took 4,750 dmg with no buffs, and 3,296 dmg with high potency defense buff.
@@Nitelight9 Phenomenal my friend! Thank you for taking time to research that question for me! I had the impression that the percentages would be much lower. I am working on a character builder program for Ever Crisis and need all of the fine detail numbers that I can get haha
NP! If it helps, here are the exact numbers that I recorded... Sephiroth Base PDEF: 126 Base dmg from first Octaslash, no buffs: 4,750 dmg Low Potency buff: 4,312 dmg Mid Potency buff: 3,741 dmg High Potency buff: 3,296 dmg. @@LumpySpaceDad
What about the durations? Saving Grace looks like 10s duration (in the provided example) and if you open with it, do you only gain the "Extended" from whatever you use to up the potency after? Or does it give you the full duration? Never bothered to count the duration of my buffs when doing this personally, but after watching this I figured I'd add this question to the topic. ^.^
It seems to give the full duration! Just tested it out. So I cast saving grace, followed by Seph's barrier, and my other two party members def buff went away about 4 sec later. However, the pt member with the stacked buffs RETAINED all 3 up arrows (high potency) even after Saving Grace's buff expired on the other two. I was doing a count and got to 17 sec before the high potency buff wore off, and when it did, the entire defense buff went away. Who knows if that's super accurate lol, but trying to give as much info as I can.
Oh, and just fyi, I was not running it on accelerated speed. Tested it 2 more times and got roughly same count when using Sav. G. + Barrier; however, when using Seph's barrier 2x stacking on itself, the high potency buff lasted considerably longer ~37-38 sec, so the duration of both skills is taken into account somehow.
Ah, that sounds like the "Extend duration" was only applied actually. Once you reach Solid Barrier++ it extends the buff duration by 12s. But if you got 17s out of it, then there might be something we're missing. Really wish they would add buff/debuff timers to the UI now. xD
I think Solid Barrier++ x2 lasted longer just because it has a longer duration out the gate though. Had to sign in to the game just now to check stuff out. Saving Grace base duration is 10s. (Saving Grace++ base duration is 14s.) Solid Barrier base duration is 30s. (Solid Barrier++ base duration is 38s.)
I think you nailed it here. Because I probably got the solid barrier cast about 5 sec after SG. So it probably was at about 5 sec remaining when i cast SB for +12 = 17 sec. The second time I did it, it lasted 16 seconds ( I had to wait a bit longer for ATB on Seph). The other interesting thing there though was that the entire buff only lasted for 17 sec. After 17, it didnt go down an arrow, it completely disappeared. So when stacked, you are limited by the first buffs duration, regardless of how long the second buff duration is; basically you only get to add the extension time. @@Raka1890
Very useful, thanks!
I know I'm late to this video but it was very useful for me. Thanks!
Hey, it's okay! The info is still just as relevant today as it was when I made it! Thank you for your comment :)

Nice work
Thank you!!
i noticed there are arrow in each buff an debuff icon, i have been playing this game for a while but how do you enable it in the game?
Go to Top Right Menu > Settings (under "Game Data" section) > Battle > Display Buff & Debuff Icon Details -- and switch that to "On"
Thank you for the great information! Any idea what the percentage is per potency level?
This is a great question. I don't know an accurate answer. Let me do some research and testing and I'll try to get you the best answer I can.
