    Great video, thanks Chad! This has been my experience with SF also. They are one of the best in my area (PA & MD) and will pay for every item you properly document and bill for. The only time we get denied supplements is after an appraisal. SF will hold to an appraisal award and not pay a dollar more, even if the supplement is for something that could not have been part of the appraisal (like plywood, for example). Another great reason to never go to appraisal unless absolutely necessary. Thanks again!

    Thanks Chad from a fellow Texan. Had a hail storm in May of 2019 which damaged the roof on my home and motor home which I park in the driveway. I had the house claim completed ( full roof / part shingles, part metal roof addition ) . Now I am running into delays on the separate motor home claim - EPDM & lauan sub-roof damage. I will use your info and have my paperwork & photos ready to get Camping World and State Farm on the same page. You have a new subscriber. Now if we can regulate the RAIN, we will be sitting pretty. CHAD!!! This is the content that I have been waiting for!! I can't wait to hear about other carriers. For this video, the tip about re-submitting a different request to State Farm was most useful for me. The brick wall I have hit with State Farm is calling in about a supplement or invoice AFTER they have made notes to deny or tell me no, and the answer is the same, denied or no. I am about to re-submit supplements and invoices on numerous jobs now because of this tip!

      Awesome, brother! I was hoping this would hit home for somebody out there! Already since posting this video I thought of 2 or 3 other things about State Farm which means I'm actually going to need to do multiple videos on each insurance carrier. I think it's going to develop into a pretty cool series for all of us. That little trick though on getting another supplement started from the beginning again does work. I can't tell you how many other contractors too who have learned this from me that have contacted me later sharing their stories and telling me of how it worked for them. I'm excited about digging into some of the other companies too! Hope you're doing awesome, brother. Stay tuned! Much love and God bless! 🙏💖👊😉

    For those who live in rural areas and have to deal with the same adjusters - NEVER send supplements to them unless you already know they aren't offended by supplements. You'd be amazed at the lengths some unruly adjusters will go to, to get back at you for things as simple as nailed in step flashing needing to be replaced after tear off... This timeline does change from time to time, but generally, 21 days after a State Farm inspection, the claim is moved to the desk adjusters or CAT Team. The desk adjusters usually have no emotions in the game. Pictures, building codes, city ordinances, and thourough explanations will usually get you where you need to be. State Farm desk adjusters deal with an insane amount of volume. If you don't take the time upfront to write a clean email and estimate with everything they need in it, then odds are it will not even be read or they will deny it just to get it out of their inbox. Do not expect much professionalism from them, as they hire literally anyone, but expect nice checks if you take the time.

      I trained a guy in supplementing and inadvertently created a monster. His supplements were typically about 90 pages long with macros set to spew every code and case law that would rule in favor of the GC. Adjusters hated him; they still do. I had to fire him. Years later, I sign on with another roofer to take his place... his claims were a disaster. No one likes to be told how to do their jobs. No adjuster wants to read 90 pages of building codes. I don't know where I went wrong with him and now I'm cleaning up his mess, again lol

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining
      @InsuranceRestorationTraining  4 місяці тому

      @rafaelrasillo7356 that sounds like a nightmare. Ugh! Sorry you went through that disaster. It’s all part of the process though right? It’s high priced education… experience that is. It sounds like you basically have had a human problem… it doesn’t mean that supplementing is bad. It just means that you had the wrong humans. I can say that using case law as a contractor is not what I would do. I would stay away from legal terminology and any discussion about policy and coverage. Building codes yes. That is squarely within the lane of the contractor. Also… come to one of my events and/or sign up at my online course. You can get to both at InsuranceRestorationTraining.com
      Keep fighting the good fight. It’s all worth it. 🙏👊😉

    Hey Chad, lm new to the insurance claim work. I’m learning a lot from you videos and I really appreciate that. I’d like to maybe see a video on how the money is paid usually. Is it to the owner? Or jointly? What if the owner doesn’t want to pay you? I did a home rebuild, years ago, for my cousin’s home that was toranado damaged and when he got the money, he bought a car with it and wouldn’t pay me.

    Hey Chad. I have a claim thru an adjuster w State Farm and I’ve worked with him a bunch. Good guy. Overall claim got above $300,000 and it had to go to his supervisor. The supervisor chopped my mitigation bill in half. I have good documentation. Almost 400 pictures. I don’t want to rub this adjuster the wrong way but they cut it way too much for me to accept. It’s hurricane claim. Total gut. 4,200 Sq ft house. Coverage over $500,000. What should I do?

    If step flashing is present, and is code, is it recommended that it should be replaced even though it’s not damaged? Thanks.

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining
      @InsuranceRestorationTraining  Рік тому

      Actually… if the step flashing is present… it’s already damaged, because how was it installed? With nails. The nail holes are damage. Focus on the code that says that “all flashing, outlets, edgings and similar devices that are part of the roof assembly shall be replaced where rusted, damaged or deteriorated”. Take pictures of the holes and submit it with a screenshot of the code. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and for the question! 🙏🙌💖👊😉

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining

      Yes. This is very common. The tiles have a lifespan. That lifespan has now been compromised. This to me would necessitate a replacement, versus just a repair. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and for the comment! 🙏🙌👊😉

    How long after we finish the project can we submit a supplement?

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining
      @InsuranceRestorationTraining  11 місяців тому

      The best practice currently is to submit the supplement for the first time BEFORE starting the project. I talk about this in lots of my other videos. It gives you the chance to hash out your differences with the insurance company before the build. That will allow you to know specifically which items the insurance company will resist the most on. We can then go all in during the build to document those items and prove why they are necessary with photographic evidence, etc. Then we hit them again with another round of supplementing after the build. I hope this helps, my friend. Thanks for watching and for the awesome question! 🙏🙌💖👊😉

  • @johnlyn1
    @johnlyn1 2 роки тому

    Question. If a homeowner has signed with a contractor to replace a roof and after fighting with the insurance company for 10 months to get them to approve replacing the roof, can the insurance company just take upon themselves to have another roofing company to provide them with a bid and then use their bid as the amount they will pay to replace the roof if it comes in lower than your contractor's bid? That is exactly what the insurance company claims manager did. He said he thought the bid from our contractor was high. He submitted his bid using Xactimate. The claims manager had another roofing company provide him with a bid for what they would charge. Their bid was lower so he based the amount they will pay from their bid. He said if our contractor does not want to do it for that price then this roofing company, he got a bid from will. Is that even legal for an insurance company to do that? He said he is just getting competitive estimates. We have a signed contract already which we signed 10 months ago and knows that.

    • @Mannyp91
      @Mannyp91 4 місяці тому

      Yes, if the original contractor quote is high and refuses to negotiate, then they have the right to find an alternative contractor. If they reach an agreement with the alternative contractor then they will consider that a fair and reasonable settlement. Its also a good indicator that the original contractor was in fact overcharging since most insurance companies will only do this as last resort

    • @johnlyn1
      @johnlyn1 4 місяці тому

      @@Mannyp91 Actually they can't. All they can do is require you to get multiple bids and go off those.

    OK so you do this with house claims right repairs??how about if someone hitting you in ,our car

  • @MihannahRock
    @MihannahRock Рік тому

    Doesn’t matter, if you file too many house insurance, not just premium is going up but they will black you. They said it themselves haha so if just few grands you better pay it yourself if it’s more than 5,000$ be more worthy to file claim
    Less than 5000$ try to fix it yourself
    The thing is, it’s like credit score if you file three times in a year for house insurance claim or 3 times in ten years house claim insurance it stays on your record. Does not make difference you made the claim with different adjuster each time or the same Adjuster
    It make zero difference because it be on your record even if you change a different insurance company . So before you are doing the filing think about if the damage is significant enough worthy to file a claim
    Because one day when you have a higher damage by wind water fire or whatever you might really really need to file a claim because it will cost you 10-100,000 to fix it
    That would be the time really file a claim
    If just 2-4000 damage just fix it yourself
    It’s not worthy to have primium go up and be on record

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining
      @InsuranceRestorationTraining  Рік тому +5

      This is totally false information. If you file a homeowner’s claim, your premium is not raised. It is not like auto. This is a very common myth and misconception. Also… no one is advocating filing multiple claims here. Most clients I come into contact with are filing their very first claim. They MIGHT file another one over the course of 20 or more years. I’ve actually never even met anyone who has filed 3 or more. I have also never met anyone who ever had their premium raise because they filed a claim. This is over my 23 year career. If they live in a market where there is a major catastrophe, sure… the entire market will see increases. But not because of one person filing a claim. Everyone’s premium is increased regardless of whether or not you file a claim. Sure, it is possible that they could drop any policyholder. If they deem someone a risk, they will drop you. This is the nature of insurance. Again, this is something I have rarely ever seen. And when I have it was because the owner did not maintain the property to the carrier’s satisfaction. Credit score can come into play when you try to obtain a policy… sure. And yes… every claim filed will be entered into a database. But this other stuff you are talking about… wow. Not sure where all that even comes from. But thanks for watching and thanks for commenting. Take care! 🙏👊😉
