  • Jonah Reider, a columnist for Food & Wine Magazine and the chef behind Pith Supper Club in NYC shares his best tip for home kitchens: use deli containers to replace storage, to serve as measuring cups, and even to generate creativity. Jonah ticks off numerous benefits of deli containers over traditional Tupperware, like their circular uniform size for optimal fit and stack-ability, the ease of seeing everything inside the containers at a glance, and even how most restaurants give them away for free.

Why is this channel still called Vice "Asia"?

Latino families have been doing this for decades...do use glass containers for the fridge and plastic for the cupboard (vegetables will last longer and herbs too if you put a paper towel inside the container) and personally I get rectangle and square ones to optimize space :) so in a nutshell... great idea, needs improvement but still great 👍

Yeah but these can also be dangerous because chemicals leech into food after a certain period of time. So the trick is keep changing these every month.

This ! Not to mention using steel cutlery in these will detach the plastic particles even faster

This only works if u live in a cold country. I live in the tropics, all my spice/ingredients have to be put in fridge to last longer. For space, i just squished everything in plastic bag & put in a basket drawer thing to put in fridge.

micro plastic in food says hi to all of you who’s using those plastic containers. you better replace plastic with glass, there’re so many sizes and shapes and the most important it’s harmless.

Honestly, round containers are a waste of space. Square or rectangular are much better.

I would like to try these. What about oily and foods that stain; do you use glass for those? I dont have a dishwasher.

I'm in the part of Asia that doesn't have standardized airtight deli containers. Actually we barely even have delis. Cold cuts and olives are not really a thing. Yet some how this is vice asia

I love that they stack. Don't feel great about putting everything in plastic, maybe dry stuff. I do like repurposing glass jars like mayo, peanut butter, etc

  • @MrRishik123

i use glass mayo jars, My parents lke mayo so i always have spare mayo jars, Rip the labels off.
Using glass is 1000000x better than plastic BS bro. Good idea, wrong execution imo.

  • @JayTalksinjury

If u ad the date too... you won't put something bad in your mouth .
( if only last call @ the bar had labels and dates ? " Bitter and Doesn't put meat in the mouth " would be a good 1 ! )
    Cheers )

I cook. I have spices, vinegars, and oils that came in their own nifty see through containers. They’re even pre labeled and for purchase at the store.
Can you tell I’m being sarcastic and criticizing them?😅🙈

If you are cooking so often why do you have so little ingredients? Or do you have enough time & money to just keep buying tiny bags of sugar, flour, sauce etc?
I like the encouragement of organization & reusing containers though.
