I have been using AE for two decades now and still have to relarn this feture evrytime- it s so unintuitive when you have to apply motion to null.Terrible

If i place the callout to a different place but still keep them linked. Will the callout still follow the null ?

Yes it will. But it follows the target point you set.

Make sure you have a good track. You need to have some contrast where you put the tracker
