I have a story about holding pee too long! I was in fourth grade and we had stupid rules about when you could go to the bathroom. One day, at home, I peed blood! My being the innocent 9 year old girl, thought I had gotten my period for the first time. I spent a few days wearing pads and being confused as to why there wasn't anything on them. I was too anxious to ask my mom. Eventually I ended up with a fever and my mom took me to the hospital. I spent 4 days in the hospital with a kidney infection. According to the doctor, I had held my pee so long that it backed up into my kidneys.
When I got back to school, I had a doctors note that said I could go to the bathroom whenever I needed too.

I learned at a young age not to hold in my pee as to prevent the risk of kidney failure. I also would sidewalk as a kid and my mom quickly learned that, for some reason, if I was sleepwalking, it meant I had to pee. I also learned to only take medication when needed and as prescribed.

That kind of happened to me once…I was sedated vs having general, but of course this was administered by an anesthesiologist.
Apparently, under the “twilight sedation”, I must have felt pain and started pushing him away. Obviously, I was moving too much for the surgeon to work. I only remember a flash of it. MD told me afterwards that he had to have the anestsiologist deepen sedation/put me out. I’m grateful for the “milk of amnesia.” I wouldn’t want to remember every detail of something like that, nor would I want someone with a scalpel having to “chase a target” during my surgery!😟

Not a medical expert, but I have plenty of experience of being tired!
Are you hydrated enough? I often find that if I haven't had enough water I get really sluggish and sleepy, and especially if I wake up dehydrated I don't feel rested at all.
Also consider that when you just wake up you often feel groggy and still tired, but are actually well rested. So give yourself half an hour or so and then consider whether you're still tired.
And finally it could just be that you need more than 8 hours sleep, I think the normal healthy range is like between 6 and 10 hours a day, but I'd look that up to check.

Statistically, some jobs that prevent people from using the bathroom, like crane operators for example, have more cases of kidney disease. But it's a small percentage, so I wouldn't really worry about it. Stress and bad health habits are way more likely to give your kidneys problems! By the way, thank you very much Dr.Mike for raising the awareness for kidney disease! #kidneypatient #kidneyrepair

After washing and drying, you have removed a natural layer of oil which was providing a small amount of insulation and hydrophobic properties, further allowing you to feel 'coolness' which was programmed into the same physical response as 'wetness'.
