I couldn't be happier for anyone than I was for Joan Jett finally getting into the Rock Hall. She is an extraordinary talent and person. She must have had very good parents by the way she carries herself in interviews , her work ethic and her selfless acts. Way to go Joan!
You have to be impressed with how she barely talks about herself and her accomplishment but instead heaps praise on everybody else who contributed to getting her where she is. She has ever reason to be full of herself, but she's full of all the people in her life. She deserves her success.
Damn, I love this woman so much. She is a one-of-a-kind class act. A truly good person who treats people with such respect and is so humble, regardless of her bad-ass status and reputation.
Hers is a speech that could be in textbooks for what rock n' roll means. I doubt if anyone has ever described it better than she does here! If rock n' roll were a political party, she'd be the winning candidate, thanks to this speech. You nailed it, Joannie! Proud of you.
I've followed Joan Jett from the beginning of her solo career. She is a badass, strong, humble, and beautiful. So proud I am she didn't forget where she came from, and that she got inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Joan Rocks! ❤️
Look at her outfit! I love it. Shes so bad ass! She is such a trailblazer. She didn't even mean to be, she just wanted to play rock and roll, just like the boys, and she made it happen! I'm 48 yrs old and I WANT TO BE JOAN JETT WHEN I GROW UP!
She was my hero growing up. Albums, posters etc. On my walls. I wore the bandanas, and cool hair. I am old now but she still makes me rock out when I hear her music. She is a trail blazer . She has never been afraid to be herself. She is a great role model for girls, and women. That speech was pure class.
She's in my Top 5 favorite artists of all time. I first saw her live in 1983 opening for Loverboy and I've been a fan for 40 yrs, and I've seen her Live 5X. Kudos to Joan Jett & the 🖤's.
Great singer an guitarist gorgeous lady with voice to match keep rocking on God bless well deserved award especially liked dirty deeds beat a c version william you very loved.
I never tire of this. Joan Jeff was the first one who ever made me wanna pick up a guitar. I have so much love for her, the Blackhearts, the Runaways,... My God, Gen X had some of the best music, just Legendary! And then amazing young artists like Miley Cyrus paving the way for future generations.... Music is the language everyone can understand.
“Rock’n’Roll is Revolution!” and “Rock’n’Roll is Political!”, -two Joan Jet blackheart quotes to start with, and she jets through the list of people in the tribe. Like all singers who can remember the lyrics, she sang out the names, without looking at the chart. Respect.
I think Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are deserving of every accolade they get but I'm still waiting in 2021 for Pat Benatar to be inducted and she deserves to be in there with Joan right now. What is the hold up??
I scorned the Hall everywhere I had a voice when the Go Go's were selected before Pat. Don't know if they listened to me, but shortly thereafter, Pat was in. Finally, justice.
Met her when I was 11. Only child much less girl child that was there at Cat Records in Nashville, TN on that day. She signed my record and she had no idea what impact she had on me. God bless you, Joan.
Wow I have never seen or heard her tear up - thought she was too rocker and too strong to do that but I guess we all have emotion inside us ! - her makeup actually held up well even though in the beginning when she teared up her makeup was dripping a little bit !
Joan Jett is probably the greatest female hard rocker thus far. I'm glad to say I saw her perform twice in the early 2000s. I was hooked. Here's a little bit of trivia. What band were the first ones to play hard rock? Answer: The Kinks. What number one female rock group preceded Joan Jett/The Runaways? Answer: Fanny. I am glad to say that I saw them perform twice in the early and mid-1970s. One of the Millington sisters played lead guitar and I was standing in front of the stage during their concert. She took me by the hand and led me backstage where I hung out with the band. They were pretty clean from what I saw and heard. A great experience when I was young.
How about Suzi Quatro ??... she was Joan Jett before this JJ. I also have an issue with the amount of "hits" Joan Jett had being cover songs.... Until Suzi Quatro and Pat Benetar are included in this sham HOF , then there is zero legitimacy.
@@sn.783 Well, the Hall is about sales too, and iconic status. Joan is more iconic than either of them, and has had better international success than Suzi and better sales. As for her hits being covers, that makes no difference to sales and how influential an inductee is. That's why Joan is in- because she has made such an impact. Plus, it helps that unlike Suzi or Pat, Joan has neither been insulting nor demanding of the Hall, which is another reason she's in. If Suzi and Pat would have taken a hint from her, they might be in by now too. Also, Joan has 3 major hits that are NOT covers: 1. Cherry Bomb, 2. Bad Reputation, 3. I Hate Myself for Loving You
Congrats. Joan. You are important . You the best. I have not played for a long time. I gave music. Till I heard Joan only a week ago.Joan, just for you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ M C UK 🇬🇧. APPRECIATE Y'ALL
just bought a drum set for my 7 year old son, and i put "i hate myself for loving you" to play along. Right then it hits me again on how badass this song really was and still are.
So put anothuh Chime in da VoiceBox Baby!Dats what I'm talkin bout!Rockin Roll fuhebbuh Joan, thanks,Congratulations Always! You Deserve This and The Supporters and Fans!Jcsx
She literally thanked every person she ever met in her entire life. When she was going through the list of her famous musician friends....WHOA. That was one hell of a list.
Lovely to see her credit Kim Fowley when so many diss him. Also crediting all the Runaways, including final bassist Laurie (McAllister), sadly deceased. Joan was always easy to deal with when I was a rock hack. She even had me on handclaps when she did her first version of I Love R&R with the ex Pistols. I could have joined in on backing vocals but I had more sense than to ruin a good take!
I was 13 ...it was The Oregon Jam. Me and all my friends and my uncles snuck alcohol into the concert in the form of watermelons injected with vodka. We rolled up a doobie, ate watermelon in the hot summer sun and rocked the fuck out of autzen stadium. All of us anticipating and waiting anxiously for Joan Jett! And we weren't disappointed! Joan came out on stage in a black trench coat and then flashed us! Not a single person in the stadium could take their eyes off the stage and that smoking hot woman. She's still smokin hot even now! Later we all lamented how the day and the concert went by so fast and we were having so much fun we never wanted it to end. It's 40 years later and I still think of that concert and specifically Joan Jetts performance as one very very happy moment in my life. One of my best friends whom I'm honored to have called brother, Allen Cook had a huge tattoo of Joan Jett and it got him back stage on many occasions. Lol! He was like a regular groupie showing up at every concert of hers that he could get to. We love you Joan! Thank you for believing in yourself! I grew up on those songs and even today I can't resist blasting the radio in the car when I hear the music. And .....here's the icing on the cake. My 13 yr old daughter hears that and ya all know what teenagers are like right?? Well, she loves Joan Jett and we rock out and bond so nice over her music! I'm telling ya man. Music speaks to the soul. And nothing else like how it saved me, soothes me and makes me so fucking happy....well, there a few songs that make me cry like baby but its for people I love who I will see when I cross over the rainbow...like Allen! Catch ya on the flip side bro!
I couldn't be happier for anyone than I was for Joan Jett finally getting into the Rock Hall. She is an extraordinary talent and person. She must have had very good parents by the way she carries herself in interviews , her work ethic and her selfless acts. Way to go Joan!
She's the embodiment of rocknroll, she made some mistakes like all of us but she deserves it!
It’s her groundedness that constantly keeps her on the road to success. Never easy being a rockstar.
Joan Jett is a legend. Men truly respect her and women look up to her. She lived and breathed Rock N' Roll.
Absolutely.
You have to be impressed with how she barely talks about herself and her accomplishment but instead heaps praise on everybody else who contributed to getting her where she is. She has ever reason to be full of herself, but she's full of all the people in her life. She deserves her success.
That's the thing I most admired and appreciated about her speech too; you nailed it!
Joan is one of the reasons I picked up the guitar. Ugh I love her
I could outplay her any day of the week --- and twice on Sunday..... What a joke !
Her smile when she first stood at the podium , I literally felt the room light up ! Who else did ?
Me
Do you believe in love at first smile
@@remi_dmochowska2572 I do!
instant thumbs up for that
She's an incredible person and it's obvious she really really wanted to thank everyone around her. Many should take example of her....
Especially YE-dolph
What a classy lady.
The queen of rock
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Not even that title is enough. She’s a goddess, as close to Jesus as you get honestly
@@deanilsson9187 As much as I love this lady, there is only one comparable to a god, that is Jimmy Hendrix.
Joan Jett is a truly fabulous human. Rock forever!
You know you made it when you get a standing ovation from Paul and Ringo.
The best acceptance speech I ever heard.

What an acceptance speech! How can you not appreciate Joan Jett?
Joan Jett is the epitome of Rock 'n Roll and I L O V E her!
Damn, I love this woman so much. She is a one-of-a-kind class act. A truly good person who treats people with such respect and is so humble, regardless of her bad-ass status and reputation.
Alright!! She Owns that place. Shes always so real. Class, and to think how she'd been treated. No bitterness, no axe, just heart.
She has a good soul.
Hers is a speech that could be in textbooks for what rock n' roll means. I doubt if anyone has ever described it better than she does here! If rock n' roll were a political party, she'd be the winning candidate, thanks to this speech. You nailed it, Joannie! Proud of you.
C'mon, douche. You really think SHE wrote that drivel?

Love Joan Jett. We all knew she could do it bcause we are her loving fans. Joan Jett is one tough lady, she is Rock n Roll.
I did cry when I watched this the first time. I was a fan of Joan’s from her very beginning. Rock on Joan!
She's such a pioneer

Damn she’s beautiful! A well deserved honor for this beautiful, driven, talented, smart, strong, hell yes lady! I love you Joan I always will.
Just saw her this summer in Miami and she still kicks ass!
She has worked her ass off!!💜💜
One does not achieve her level of success by sitting on ones' ass doing nothing.
She so deserves this great singer and as a person no nice to her fans she is the best

I love Joan Jett I am so glad she made it to the rock and roll hall of fame to God bless you forever to
My 2nd pin up girl as a late 70s teenager, after Stevie Nicks. Aussie Christine Amphlett was 3rd (frontwoman of the rock band Divinyls)
Christine Amphlett surprised me and I have to say she definitely belongs on the list.
But can’t forget Lita Ford.
Such a classy lady.
Joan deserves it !!!
And PS when Paul McCartney gives you a standing ovation that’s fkn nuts too!
Sharp as a tack! Just to remember all those names.

Happy she mentioned Lemmy and Motorhead. It's a shame that Motorhead isn't in the RnR HOF.

Yes, some artists are strangely absent like Blue Oyster Cult for another example
