Virat is indeed one of the best batsman of this era..his classy batting is treat to our eyes
For around 10 years he has been one of the big 4 batsmen across the different formats along with Kane Williamson (NZ), Joe Root (ENG), Steve Smith (AUS). In the last 2 years he has had moderate success compared to a stellar period before. He still has remarkable batting figures in ODIs and T20s in particular.
Being a great Indian hero he has a staggering level of adulation and fame, as his predecessor Sachin Tendulkar had (and still has eight years after retirement).
The "move" of bouncing it at the toes of the batsman is called Yorker. There's also a full toss, where it doesn't bounce at all, but if there's no bounce, then there's no sudden movement in a different direction to catch the batsman off guard. So most batsmen quite like full tosses. Most full-tosses seem to be by accident, i.e. the ball slips out of the bowler's hand incorrectly.
Notice how Virat steps forward out of the crease.
The greatest thing about this guy Kohli is his mindset. He trains like a fighter. Not just his physical fitness. It is his will. But that comes from all his hard work in training.
Everyone who bats and bowls also fields. It's the same 11 players through out the match. They don't change. In case of any injury you have one substitute fielder who can come to replace the injured guy in the field.
Kohli is a legend.

The twist of the bat is a last moment decision to force ball onto the ground to make sure he isn't caught near the boundary. You need three skills to bat like this. The first is obviously strength. The second is timing to get the ball at the right moment. Finally skill - the sweet spot on the bat is pretty small and you have to have great anticipation of what the bowler is sending down at you to place the ball on that spot. Deciding where you are going to make the ball go off the bat is a standard skill in cricket. Everyone learns that as a child.

Cricket is coming to the US. T20 first. Maybe ODI. The US being a Test country is a distant dream.
Basic principle of batting is 'hit the ball into the gaps'
It is called the 'boundary' or sometimes the 'rope'; the triangular foam things cover the boundary rope at that level of cricket because the fielders often come in contact with it at speed.
You'd get a better idea of conventional cricket strokes from watching Test match cricket (white clothing and red ball). There are a lot of 'funky' strokes used in T20s and in 50-overs cricket to maximise speed of scoring that you will see less often in Test matches. the reverse sweep has become a fairly standard shot in test cricket but there are no bowler or fielder restrictions as in limited overs so time at the crease becomes the optimal approach to make big scores against quality bowling. Conventional strokes are the 'off' and 'on' drives, sweeps, (and reverse sweep) played off the front foot and various cuts, pulls and hooks off the back foot. In between you have dabs, nudges, 'nurdles' and pushes to just keep the scoreboard ticking over with 1's and 2's. Generally batsmen play off the front foot (weight on the front foot) when the ball is pitched close to them, and off the back foot when it is pitched shorter to bounce more.
If a hit lands on the boundary rope it is 6; boundary markers are outside the actual field of play.
The 'round arm' bowler' Lasith Malinga was a great T20 and ODI bowler for Sri Lanka, a lot of domestic teams and in the IPL. He played test cricket earlier in his career with moderate success because batsmen could see him off and block him till he tired.
His action is very unusual and must be close to what was bowled in the first half of the 19th century before overarm bowling was legalised in 1864. It is not only unusual but was also executed with great control and often devastating effects when he was on a roll
He has on of best uer of modern techniques & als has class of different shot selection on same ball. He can play many shots on same type of ball. He play only with timing the ball get runs effortlessly.
I think the lenght of the pitch is like 20mtrs/22yards....these days even the spinner bowls like 98-100kmph & the pace bowlers at international level are like 140-159+kmph. So *the batter at the striker end has 0.5 seconds* to play his stroke for each ball that gets to face.

9:47 the bowler is Lasith Malinga aka YORKER KING, one of the most feared fastbowler in the shortest format of the game(t20). He's a srilankan and he retired from cricket a couple of years ago... also his bowling action is unique and efficient than most of the other bowlers(when it comes to Yorkers)
Cricket is more technical than base ball . When ball hit the pitch ball react according to the pitch ( slow , fast , more bounce etc ) but in base ball ball goes direct towards the hitter .
That's why sometimes batsman come in akward position to hits a ball

Because of speed of ball if you know that this bowler is fast at that time if your timing is good it can go to six with flick only..
But sometimes bowler use some special nuckkle and slower ball which can get out if batsman did not see the palm of bowler clearly so bowler sometimes hide them during run up

Then you will have your "All Rounders" these are people who can Bat and Bowl (or your Wicket Keeper). Lastly you will have your least capable Batsmen who will generally be your Specialist Bowlers.
This is just generic set up but you can play around with the Batting order in different circumstances i.e. you need to score runs more quickly or you might want to slow down your wickets being lost so quickly.
"Best cricket player" is an opinion not a fact! Around 2018 bowlers could barely get him out but the last two years his record has looked very ordinary.
The finest player I have seen in my lifetime is the great West Indian Gary Sobers. With a better Test batting average than Kohli or Tendulkar and was also able to bowl fast-medium swing/seam, left-arm spin and also left-arm 'chinamen and googlies' along with breathtaking fielding at test match level. A wonderful entertainer and great person. BTW I am English but I know genius when I see it.

sure, you are right. Bradman has best average but in tests only. At that time there are no odis and t20s. the determination and fitness(physical and mental) of Virat kohli is just unmatchable. He is the only batsman in the world who has 50+ average across all the formats of cricket. I don't think players you mentioned cannnot match virat kohli across all the formats.
@@Harshags19musicPrecisely there were no ODIs or T20s for Bradman to show his skill. Someone who could hit gaps with his skill would be a brilliant limited overs player and if he played in such an era he would train for it single-mindedly as he did everything else.
Gary Sobers in his prime was absolutely made for the shorter forms. A wonderful attacking left-handed bat and he could fast-medium or left arm spin and he was a fantastic fielder and an enormous crowd pleaser. He would have been the most bid for player in the history of the IPL.
BTW Virat is averaging under 50 at present in tests. He's been struggling for his best form for around 3 years which is sad.

Please react to him, he is a legendary bowler and he just retired abt a week ago. He is a Sri lankan player and holds the record by having four in fours. That means he took 4 wickets consecutively in 4 balls on 2 different occasions and he also has 3 normal hatricks, which is 3 wickets in 3 consecutive balls. He is also know for his thick curly hair as well and he won many matches for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

In cricket eleven field and the same eleven bat. In an average 'ideal' team you might find 7 selected for batting strengths including an all-rounder with strong bowling skills as well and the seven would include a wicket-keeper who can make runs. You also need a balance bowling attack of fast, fast-medium and a slow spinner. Some teams will play with 5 bowlers and some with 4; in limited overs crickets most captains would probably prefer to have six players who can be relied on to bowl a full or part number of overs (10 in ODIs and 4 in T20s); it gives the captain wriggle room if a bowler has an off day.
As regards best hitters that usually defines the big guys who can bludgeon the ball huge distances like Chris Gayle (aka Universe Boss), Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard and others. Kohli is more what we would call a 'cultured stroke player' who can perform across all formats.
India has one senior team that plays Test cricket. But it also has an ODI team and a T20 team. Kohli plays in all three. There are many domestic teams which is the structure below test cricket and there are the IPL franchise teams as well. Kohli plays (in theory) for Delhi in domestic cricket and has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore for 11 years in the IPL. RCB has finished as runners-up 3 times but have never won the IPL despite the strength of their teams on paper.

It isn't sensible trying to premeditate shots before the ball is bowled although batsmen will try to outguess the bowlers when they need to score quickly. Clever batsman will try to read the field placings to gauge the bowler's intentions, but of course there is nothing to stop the bowler bluffing with a field set for a bouncer but then bowl a yorker instead. Whenever I was desperate enough to try it, it usually ended in disaster.

1. Swinging for six is a big thing just like in baseball but since there is only onw inning it become more important to find gaps and hit fours or run one and two. It will reduce the chance of getting out.
2. Yeah, it's same guy who bat and field. Sometimes a batter also bowls and is called all rounder.
3. Batsman can pre determine the shot but that leads to his failure as shot selection is very important. So good batsman are those who play according to ball
4. Virat is best at placing but also among the few best in hitting.
It's not possible to hit big hits through out the game because the game gose on for a very long time and you will be out of stamina soon if u go for big hits every ball and also the chance of you getting out increases when u go for big shots. So some times it is wise to just rotate the strike by taking singles and doubles.
