YOU are a god!!! My wife and I spent hours this past Sunday trying to get our PRO-100 to work. We wasted so much time trying wired and wireless (our preference) and nothing made it work. Not sure why it took me so long to look up your video but SOOO glad I did. Within less than 10 minutes we were chugging along wirelessly without ANY problems. A MILLION thanks!!
I had been trying for hours. Gave up. Saw your video and in 5 minutes the gigantic bastard finally connected... just finished printing my first photo. Thank you so much from Italy. Davide
I was about to throw this thing out the window. I have set it up several times and it never gets easier. Thank you so much for the clear and easy video to follow! Also thank you for not having that elevator music in the background like a lot of the videos on this subject have!
I appreciate the video and the instructions are super clear. I used to have my printer pretty close to the computer, but now it's across the room. I was about to purchase a 30'+ cable but noticed the wi-fi button on the printer, which led me to you. Great tutorial.
OMG ~ THANK YOU! I have been trying to get my Pro-100 to work wirelessly with my MAC forEVER. I gave up at one point and connected it by USB. However, I moved my printer across the office (because it's a big "b@#tard" sitting on my desk next to my computer. I could NOT get it to work wirelessly... I tried (so I thought) everything. I decided to try one last Google search and came across your tutorial. It worked the FIRST d@mn time! LOL! I am not sure what fixed it, but it now prints wirelessly from my MAC. I have a feeling it may have been the order in which you suggested connecting. Anyway, thank you! You saved a printer's life and my sanity.
I’ve had this printer for YEARS and never been able to figure out wireless setup. Your video just allowed me to do it successfully in 5 minutes. THANK YOU for the amazing instruction-sooo appreciated
I fumble bumbled with the WPS stuff three or four times -- pushing the printer's blue button, pushing the router's button (TP-Link). The two units had different instructions. Somehow they worked. Lately, I've ignored the wifi setup button dance. When I turn on the router's radio, and turn on the printer, they work. Maybe I can break it by unpowering and repowering the router...
How do I know if the first step connection is successful? .. I pressed the printer Wi-Fi button, I pressed the WPS button but still nothing comes up on when I try to add printer on desktop.
JK, if you're still there... On wifi, does your printer print "haltingly", i.e. move the paper about 1/8", pause, and repeat? Or does it move the paper steadily? (Photo printing, not text.)
@@JKAdams thank you 😅 also, where can we ask you questions aside from Twitter ? Is sending you messages here okay ? My Pixma-Pro can be the death of me at times !
I appreciate the tutorial, but I seem to have a deeper issue. I have a router with a WPS button, but the printer just won't connect. I've installed another canon printer wirelessly without a glitch before, but this isn't working :-(.
If I don’t have a WPS on my Spectrum WiFi 6 router, what am I suppose to do? I have spent hours over the last few years trying to figure out the WiFi option. But always end up plugging the usb back in
Dude, GREAT VIDEO!!! You remind me so much of a good, good friend, Bruce Black... You cracked me up! Thank you, I'll check out some more content & subscribe...
Sir, I owe you a beer. . . this thing was pissing me off 8 ways to sunday... who would have ever thought you had to unlock it on your gaddam router first to see the damn thing. Thank you!
Finding this video much later--I have fiber internet and there isn't a WPS button on the new modem and the new wifi mesh. network isn't recognizing the printer (worked before I switched internet--ugh!). Any ideas??
@@JKAdams Hi! Unfortunately, there is nothing in the app :( I even chatted with Quantum Fiber and they said they didn't have an option for me...ugh!!!! I'm so stuck!
@@JKAdams I just got Quantum Fiber. Their setup is a modem (no WPS button on back), that is connected via Ethernet to a "pod", basically an access point and then I have three other pods throughout the house, creating a mesh network. I chatted with their tech support and they didn't have anything to help me. Do you think if I just plain old plug it into my computer, I will be able to add it? And then when I return it downstairs (it's for my screenprinting business) it will recognize the wi fi??

I was getting USB Malfunction error when using the cable. So I found this video. I uninstalled my previous driver and I've tried to install a new driver twice. The first time I installed successfully but then could not be added. The second time it gave me an error message trying to add it. I searched for my printer and it isn't even there. Of course I tried to call Canon and you can't get tech help without an account established. ($$$) Anyone want to buy a printer? I'm switching to HP.
@@funmakers2093 Gotcha. I dont use Mac so I wont be much help...but if the computer isnt recognizing the printer that sounds like a connection issue. Did you buy the printer new or used?
@@JKAdams New. I used the USB cable to connect for a few years. Then, today when I saw the message that there was a USB malfunction I checked the cable and it was loose. So I figured I’d try the wireless method. The problem I’m having now is adding the printer. I don’t know my first attempts at downloading a new driver was that the server could not connect with the software?

Which router do you have?
Wanted to jump in and say method 1 works for imacs as well!
what If i have spectrum and it doesnt have a wps button?
Theres generally always a way to use wps. It might be browser based thru your router. Get the model number off of it and google it + WPS
This did it quickly took 30 secs lol I moved and forgot how to get it set up

Not much help if you don't have WPS on a router
Sometimes the WPS function is in the routers software, not physically on the router.
