I’m strangling to find a clear idea how much intensity to give from every channel rgb. A good mix that promotes plant growth and does not make algae go crazy
Thanks for this comparison. The C2 RGB loses a bit of that classy look the C2 has (the ONF Flat Nano is even classier, but cannot rotate, and doesn't have the bt setting) The RGB is much more expensive than the normal C2. And it needs more power (+4w) for only 80 lumens more. It can surely be really nice at night, but I honestly don't see any reason to spend any extra money. I will buy the C2 tomorrow.
I'm considering using the C2 (not the RGB) for A high-tech iwagumi scape to grow a monte carlo carpet in a 21 gallon long (90×30×30 cm). Do you think two of these lights would be sufficient to get a carpet? Any idea what the PAR value is for this light? Great video btw!
Hello! Great video. How many liters is the tank where you made the comparison? Do you think the C2 RGB is enough for a 40 liter aquarium with low to medium requirements?
Great comparison. Does the "3000k" setting produce a warmer, more daylight appearance? I am having a hard time finding a suitable nano light that approximates the color temperature of my 3500k full spectrum plant bulbs (FEIT Electric 9W). This bulb is truly realistic, as if you were sitting by an open window. Are there other lights in that spectrum with this minimal appearance? I have an older, smaller Chihiros light that is really white and I'm not a fan.
I have a 60cm wrgb 2 which uses the same light chips. It’s really lovely at the lower Kelvin ratings. It gives a feeling of being in the tropics. It’s late December at the time of writing, so it’s much appreciated. The Kelvin customisation was one of the main reasons I bought this light, as I use it on a terrarium so wanted a warmer aesthetic. I would highly recommend it.
Thanks for the review. I just got the RGB today and immediately asked for a firmware update so trying to get that going now. Question for you though - can this be turned on/off without the app? i can't find that anywhere and i also get a little nervous if theres no way to use it without the app for whatever reason. Thanks!
Hey! The app is the only way you are able to switch it on or off. I have to say that it works really well though. Just set up the schedule once and then you can forget about it.
which is better in your opinion ????? i have a low tech ada 30c with easy and medium plants using the c2 white at present !! if i upgraded to the c2 rgb do you think i would get better plant growth and results?????? thank you
Do you think the RBG is dim enough to use as a blue moonlight? For instance, leaving the blue at 1% for 3 hours after the photocycle so I can view my tank in the evening?
Would you advise the c2 rgb over the c2. USA is about $50 difference. Don't mind spending but like to know its worth the extra $50. Going on new 6 gallon Waterbox aquarium. Thanks and Great Video
Hi, what is the max tank height you can fit between the light and the base? I’m not sure the DOOA 20x20x35cm Neo glass air would fit or not? Thanks for making these chihiros product videos btw 😊👍 I’ve watched quite a few.
Is it worth going for 2 C2 lights instead of 1 wrgb2 60 considering lower power consumption (15watts x 2 lights vs 68watts for one wrgb2 60) and also 2 C2 lights are cheaper than 1 wrgb2 60.
I just bought the c2 rgb for a 40 liter tank with some demanding plants. I'm kind of a noob and have never used an RGB light. The colors seem too intense, I can't find a setting that looks somewhat natural. It's a lot ask, but could you do a follow up video with some setting recommendations?
@MJAquascaping hey, sorry to bother you from a 2 years ago comment, but can you link me to that video, please ? I'm deciding to get the RGB version purely because of how much more settings it offers
@@captainhunter7098 RBG is always a great choice, or a better if you have the specific plants, demanding plants or fish to pop their colour. If your tank only has green plants, the normal is sufficient. And in the UK, the price between them is £5 only.
@@MJAquascaping i am afraid if the bluetooth controller attached stops working someday did u face any issues with the controller and are the spares avaliable?
Thank you so much for this! Just what i needed, not much reviews on this light!

As always, honest and helpful review to decide what to get. Thanks 👍🏻Im buying the C2 version

Yep! The regular C2 would be my first choice as well 👍
i wonder if the green is more "yellow" with c2 compared to rgb version. to me it seems like it in the video.
Was wondering which one to buy.
Thanks for the comparison video!!
Which one is it going to be 😊
@@MJAquascaping it's going to be the white cause, i hate the exposed LEDs look so much that better colors aren't enough :D
Very informative 👍

Yeah with only 30cm height it should be okay! No idea about the PAR though
Hello! Great video.
How many liters is the tank where you made the comparison?

Hey! That’s a 20 liter tank, 40 is okay 👍 I would use this on something that’s max 50 liters
@@MJAquascaping Thank you so much!
Hi, C2 RGB light it's a good choice for System Terra 30 or have other good solutions today?
Rgb is always better IMO, but less LEDs? Wished they kept the same 60 leds.
The RGB leds are a lot bigger, I don’t think they could fit 60 of them 😅
Can you adjust the height of the light? also would this be enough light to carpet dwarf hair grass in my 10 gallon?? Thank you love the videos
Yes and yes😊👍

Hey! at 3000k it is really nice and warm white! Honestly I don't know any other lights who offer this kind of color adjustment

Nah I would just stick with the regular C2

For sure 👍

Yeah for sure! just did a little test, blue at 1% looks awesome for a moonlight!
Hey MJ! What’s your daylight spectrum profile for your tanks on the Chihiros C2 RGB? I have anubias and montecarlo for carpet. I appreciate the help
I want the rgb for my 18" cube, so for easy ephytite and easy carpet plants would be ok?
Yeah should be fine. That is about the max size tank I would use this on though
Thanks for the comparison. I have the regular C2 and while I like the actual light, the app needs a lot of work for my mind.
Yep I agree 😊
Hi Mj what setting are u using how much percent blue, red, green and kelvin? I have a 30 Liter tank, the height is 30cm
What's the light on the tank on the shelf in the left lower part of the video background? Is that also a Chihiros C2? By the looks of it.
You review convince me to use this light.
Now the "easy" question - where in Europe i can buy it?
It will probably take a few more weeks before this light hits the EU market. You can download the chihiros app and buy it directly from them.
I just noticed that Green Aqua has it available 👌
@@MJAquascaping Thank you very much :)
@@MJAquascapingThe light are ordered right now. Thanks mate ;)
Heat dissipation comparison please.
Thanks for the video. Question... Has anyone grow hemianthus callitrichoides (CUBA) with either of these lights? Thanks!
IS THIS LIGHT STRONG ENOUGH FOR A CARPETING PLANT ( MONTECARLO) ON A 5 GALLON TANK?
FOR SURE!

60x35x30cms

Hi..am wondering is normal c2 good enough for high tech plant and red plants?
Depends on the size of the aquarium of course. But for anything up to 40 liters it should be good and capable to grow red plants.
@@MJAquascaping mine only 20 liters..so should be fine then..btw thanks.
Which would you prefer for a 30x30x30 high tech, C2 Rgb/Wrgb2 30/Wrgb2 30 Pro?
Hi MJ
Welke max hoogte kan je bereiken met de stand?
Ik wil een baas gaan opzetten en deze is 35hoog, wil liever heen lamp op de rand bevestiging
Does this light have a timer option?
Yes! It has the exact same controls as the WRGB 2, so check out that video if you want to see exactly how it works.
@@MJAquascaping I found it, great review by the way!
How about the heat dissipation between the two c2¿
Waar heb je deze lamp gekocht?
Deze heb ik gratis gekregen van Chihiros (sponsor) je kunt hem bij Green Aqua in Hongarije kopen, via Amazon, of via Aliexpres
