Yeah, I don't get the whole blocker card thing! there's 3 hearts on the board, and I hold the 9h which leaves 9 more hearts in the deck instead of 10 Where's the logic in that? If I held the Ah It'd be better, but wouldn't likely affect my play unless I was going to bluff having the nut flush.😁👍😎✌🗽
@@TOM-C.3hearsts on board and you hold the 9h you block a number of flush combos, especially T9h and 98h, which are suited connectors that are commonly played, as well as less commonly played one-gappers like J9h and 97h. Since you have the 9h, you can reduce the number of combos of hands your opponent can hold. @@digitaldozer Your summation assumes certain cards are on the table, and that applies to any holdem game of any suit that flops, and goes without saying. Actually, on this board, I'd be more worried he had the 10 J rather than the flush, but still would have called knowing his proclivity for bluffing, and the size of the pot. You never know what someone is going to play pre flop, A5 is real common these days for some reason, it's usually a fold for me, but I play very tight.😁👍😎✌🗽
Dougs biggest mistake was betting so chunky on the river. 38K was simply too much for that pot with that board texture. Half of what would have likely won him the pot as Airball can't really shove over a 20k river bet, whereas 38k pushed the SPRs too low and polarized Airballs hand. After betting 38k and getting shoved on he has to fold. Everything gets there, even the bluffs and KK is basically the stone bottom of Dougs range in this spot, he plays anything else differently and he likely doesn't check the turn.
Airball May have gotten this one thru, but this crazy play is EXACTLY why he’s still getting invited to these high stakes streamed games. Massive whale
Doug: "Hmm let's be balanced in this spot" Nik: "let me rip it all in with 5s and no heart" Doug: (running thousands of calculations in his head) "I'll get marginally more value with my calls with a heart in my hand" *fold*
The fact he only folded bc he didn’t have a heart is crazy to me. Yes it’s a blocker I get that but just go with your gut. Instincts are better than blockers 99% of the time.
I've seen Doug play enough times to know he was folding as soon as Nick jammed on him. He never calls in these spots. I remember a hand where Doug had AA. The river was about as bricky as you can get. All flush draws missed, all straight draws missed. Doug went for a value bet and the guy jammed all in for like a quarter million and Doug just folded. I was yelling at the screen for him to just make the call because it was an obvious bluff. But true to his nitty form Doug folded.
It's so funny to me. It's so obvious to me that they cherry pick videos of Doug losing, so that people won't be scared away from his game. Yet every video I see someone saying how bad Doug is at poker, or how he's turned into a fish, yada yada.
Somebody pointed it out before and now i keep seeing it..when airball has it hes talky and comfortable..when hes bluffing hes stonefaced and quiet. How does polk not know that?
Doug flips his KK but doesn’t watch Nik carefully, that’s why you flip it to watch. He would of seen Nik fast blink and twitch a little. Now, what would that mean, I would guess a bluff.
I remember watching the stream live, and everyone in chat was trying to figure out why Doug was so scared. I was taking a massive sht during the stream butt it was worth it. Doug made me hold in my poo for like 5 mins.
That was a very good play by Nik. That was his only method of winning the pot. If Doug already had the correct read on the river, why bet 38k? He should overbet this pot (100k+) and shut Nik out. Nik can't move in then and get Doug to fold imo.
Doug is about to make so much money off nick. He has his ticket. Doug called off every piece and part of nick there and then folded to make nick still feel like he is ahead.
Doug, come on man, Nik bluffs a lot, and you know that! That was a call all day long as was the last hand! Taras made a perfectly sized bet, and it didn't look like a bluff, but I would have called anyway knowing he too bluffs a lot, and the pot odds were great so here again, a call all day long! 😁👍😎✌🗽
What a lame bet on Doug’s part ! If you don’t have conviction that you have the winning hand, why even bet on River when Nick checked ?! This may be high stake poker, but their skill level is very low.
Because a lot of hands will call river that he beats. He also still has a lot of AK with a heart bluffs on that river. Certainly, a loose game, but Doug is no amateur and folded because he knew he didn't want to call off his entire range on the river. If he blocked the flushes he would have called as he said.
"You should never bet the river unless you're calling a jam" following by "their skill level is very low". Oh, the irony. And people say poker is dead.
doug is a good man but not a good player .. this is an instant call , specially if u raise on the river ... its so stupid to raise and fold .. makes no sense
Easy fold IMO. MASSIVE overbet, so many hands that beat him. It’d have to be a bluff like 3/4 of the time to justify a call, and with all the potential made hands, that’s just so unlikely.
@@famfam0 You never "know" for a fact what your opponent has... that's poker. There are lots of hands that will call a raise that are worse, that's how you make money.
Doug just shitting the bed, with high pocket pairs, again. Nothing new, like the AA’s vs AJ hand @ hustler.. Doug, can afford it.. Just call every time with AA’s or KK’s. It will be profitable, I Believe. 🚀
Doug is the master of having a spot on initial read then folding because of some dumb blocker bullshit
he'll get paid in the long run when people try to bluff his nuts
Yes and that's why he is a winning player in cash game. Maybe not max EV against Airball but still winning.
