Thanks for posting this. Glad you nixed the chugging of the bottle... Have you ever used wood bleach to whiten the sapwood of a slab? I have a walnut table Im working on and the sapwood is pretty dull. I am thinking about using a bleach to make it pop a bit more. Thanks
Interesting question Steven.. We have only used bleach on wood once and that was Ash, which we used to whiten the wood, so it could possibly work. Not sure how it would react with walnut!
*Look great...* I've liked working with Rubio Monocoat... very forgiving product. _Any experience using it for an outdoor project?_ I have a table build coming up and don't want to use epoxy because of yellowing in the elements... so I was thinking about an oil based finish... thanks.
Excellent video with some great information!
Thanks! We love working with the Rubio finish!
Great video.
Thanks Beckham!
Thank you I love my oil finished burl table but it's gotten some scratches I hope this helps 🙏

Love the video! Where do you get your slabs at? They are all amazing.
Thanks Jacob! We source from a couple different local outfits. The table in the video were actually slabs we cut and milled ourselves!
just curious do you have to apply this to the underside of the table from time to time?

They make an outdoor finish but we have yet to use it. We have an upcoming project that we plan to give it a go on!
What grit do you sand to before applying the initial Rubio?
Do you ever use a grain filler on the walnut slabs before applying Rubio?
No we don't ever fill the grain. Only voids and imperfections get filled usually with an epoxy!
What do you use to edit
Not too sure, we outsource our editing!
I editied this video and used adobe premier pro! :)
