Dude you're brilliant I'm in the process of doing this right now I couldn't finish it before our snowstorm but I'll have it done this weekend I have it all attached to the van except I wanted to get some snow plow shoe skids this will help the board slide a little better on my driveway because I have the grass in the middle and I can adjust the heighth of the board so it's not scraping on the ground cuz I have a lot of bumps in my driveway too but I want you to know that you made this all possible thank you

Thanks man for the more detailed explanation. Mega storm to arrive starting tomorrow night, so tonight I will be off to Lowes to get the stuff you have on here. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again!
thank you sir, i copied your design and did my long driveway in less than 10 min. it usually would take an hour or more depending on weight and quantity. you may have saved my life. many blessings,
THANK YOU! I made one and used it for the first time tonight and it worked beautifully!!! 👍👍 I thought I was living like a boss with my snowblower.... I almost bought the hitch sportplow for close too $2,000
@@shannonp4037 I just used it today but I was I lil to rough with it plus it was a lot of ice so it is racked out of square so I'll probably have too put more screws in it but I like it! Quicker than snowblower!
ok I just made something as this, I haven't tried it out yet , ill post when we get more snow, we just rent so I didn't want to spend big dollars on a real snow plow, went to the used section of doors and bought an old one, Thanks for posting, this gave me the idea for my 2001 4x4 ..
At first thought this was the crazy Canadian wood worker channel. May his poor minivan rest in peace. (The guy who turned a bowlwith his mini van). Great thinking on this one sure beats shoveling.
I'd put some rubber, silicone or foam on the back to prevent it from scratching up your car. The chain itself needs some protection too. I love the idea though. I'll probably do it myself next year
I'm going to make this this week but I was just wondering since I have the 5th edition Dodge caravan I don't have the outside hooks to hook my chain two was wondering if I need those two outside chains what do they do are they that important
I think I'd put some angle iron on the bottom to prolong the life of the 'plow' but otherwise this should work with my mid-size all-wheel drive SUV, even on my gravel lane. Not sure if it would have helped a couple of weeks ago with the 4 & 5 ft drifts in my lane though. Had to have a guy with a tractor dig me out - saw 4 distinct layers of hard wind-packed snow.
How thick is the plywood and how many pieces? What kind of chain did you use and how to attach it to wood. I have a truck and am to oldto go out in the freezing cold with snowblower would rather be in warm truck thank you
I've plowed so much snow with this thing this year the novelty is really wearing off. Anther storm on the way too! I'll bet I've saved over 500bucks this year alone not having to pay somebody to plow my shop and house.
I've seen guys drop 80k on a plow rig and this guy over here with an 800 dollar van 4 chains and 30 bucks in plywood talking about dave Ramsey eat your heart put bud!!
bolt some caster wheels on the back of the plywood at the bottom, then when you drive forward it and it tips, it will lift the bottom off the ground so you dont drag the snow forward
Hi. I really love your invention and would like to make one of my own. However, I don't think my Toyota Sienna has a place to hook uo the shorter chains. It only has the seat hooks. Do you have any suggestions? Also what is the length of each of the two sets of chain? Ever worried you're going to back into something like a curb and break something? I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Greg
Without seeing it I wouldn't know. The chains I use are light enough that if I hit something solid it will just break a chain. As far as curbs believe it or not it just rides up over them as long as I hit them on a bit of an angle
The mother of invention is necessity. Looks like it works pretty good
Holy snow pusher now that's a PLOW!!! Very simple to make and easy to use. You get a * * * * * 5 star rating for Design
And if the snow is too deep it will automatically load the excess in the back of the van so you can haul it off!!! Ingenious.

Brilliant! Now when it the snow flies I can send my old lady out in the Mom mobile to do the driveway.
One of the coolest things i've ever seen. Way to go

Glad to hear!! I did my driveway today to. We got dumped on.
Thanks very much! Looks like a great alternative to the other, much pricier options!

Any issues or design changes?

@@a.d.h.dn3d461 Thanks for the reply. I have a 2500 HD 4x4 Chevy I want to do this too.
@@shannonp4037 I didn't use plywood, I stacked 2x4 on top of each other about 3' tall.
Wondering I can do this in my van, I have 2 back doors.
Nicely done.
I've watched many of your wood working videos and somehow missed this.
you are so smart and creative! Thank you for making this video 💓
Simply amazing!! Thank you for your idea!!
excellent primitive but good I am so glad people are thinking of alternative you probably saved money this year but how can we improve it

You Sir, Are a Genius
Nice job and a clever idea!
What can i say.. It works and he showed it in action!
At first thought this was the crazy Canadian wood worker channel. May his poor minivan rest in peace. (The guy who turned a bowlwith his mini van). Great thinking on this one sure beats shoveling.
OH that is so funny because it's so simple but absolutely genius...and it works great!! Good job man!!
Hahahahahaha that’s awesome ,ingenuity at its finest, kool man
Made one---IT WORKED GREAT---thank you !!!
Easiest , fastest build to plow snow thank you ..
I Iove this !! Imma hook it up on my 04 Odyssey
You are a genius!
Wow- that worked pretty well!
Way to go, let it snow! Thanks.
Could have used that last week here in Michgan. Pity its only good in pushing. I'd have had a bank piled in front of my garage, Great thinking Mike.
excellent design..... I am going to try it.
😂 👍 Simple Man snow 🌨 plow. By the time you've pissed around with this idea 💡 the snow has melted. 😂 👍
That's awesome!!! Very creative.
Absolutely love it ! ! Kudos ! !

Try using some tire cables or chains. They would probably help with the bigger piles of snow.
So on my truck I could remove the tail gate and mount some clips inside the bed of the truck im good to go hmmm worth a shot at it for sure.
You did a great job!!!
your wife must love you man ........awesome
:)...Beats the hell out of shoveling!
It makes great sense that the chain links are the weak point and will break with too much resistance. What size chain are you using? Thank you!
Generally, plywood does not break steel chain.
thets it I'm making one lol
but the chains will kill the budget
I used rachet straps, one full piece of plywood and just hung it from the roof rack on my jeep
@@Cornfed_Off-road i don't think that was smart. But did it work?
Bout to buy a fleet of mini vans.. 😂👍

Way to have fun, to freakin cool, what a riot !!
works good cheap simple easy to fix I like it.
Hey great idea. Does the plywood ever get caught in cracks etc. Especially backing out of driveways or sidewalks etc

well done there sir ...how she work on gravel driveway ????
Nicley done!
Don’t forget to make the fail vid too! 😂
Beats the hell out of shoveling. Doesn't it!
add a couple toolbox wheels to the bottom corners on the return side and you won't drag so much snow back with you!
How thick is the plywood and how many pieces? What kind of chain did you use and how to attach it to wood. I have a truck and am to oldto go out in the freezing cold with snowblower would rather be in warm truck thank you
My van has doors that open sideways. How could I do something like this??
SWEET, L❤VE IT!!!
Can you use a wooden pallet?
Works best on a beater. Save the wear and tear on the good vehicles.
that's fucking awesome
Excellent ❤
this is fxxking smart!!!
scratched bumper?
Would been nice if you showed how its made for us old folks .lol
That's brilliant! Are you in Nova Scotia?
is your rear bumper still in good shape?

$500.00 now that's MORE tools!!!
Mike.
How long are the chains that you used
as far as i'm concerned your right up there with
Thomas Edison

It seems... dry snow?
LOL......but it seems to work!
you go!
how thick is the plywood....?

bolt some caster wheels on the back of the plywood at the bottom, then when you drive forward it and it tips, it will lift the bottom off the ground so you dont drag the snow forward
Your da man!
Brilliant!
GOOD JOB
putting it behind a trailer could prevent damages to the car.
HILARIOUS!
How many times did you get stuck?
Dan Deeg Jr stuck lol. What's that?
Wooden Tool Man lol. I love it I'm thinking of a way to put it on my own car, keep on plowing my youtube friend....

You could just get a snow blower too
Yeah and about a year down the road you will need a transmission
How thick is this?
Carol Knows Best . It looks like two sheets of 3/4” Baltic Birch plywood and not the cheap stuff. Look at all the layers in the plywood
Fucking brilliant
Great, until you hit the snow a little too hard and set off the airbags.
fuckin' brilliant!
smart now maybe i will get a mini van not lol great thinking
It would be better on the front.
When he goes to resell the van, in the description he will put, "lady driven, all highway kms" and none will be the wiser
Or....comes with a plow lol
LMFAO! Wife is a lookin at me like I took a crazy pill, I’m laughing that hard.
Like
BS.....TOTALLY insufficient... Your Van will get so stuck in the snow. Once you do the plow and and a wreck Your vehicle
This has got to be the most stupidest thing I've seen.... PUT your blinkers on! I'm heading to homedepot now for some wood
