Not every game will be a winner but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun playing them. There’s a lot of games to play out there and only one me so it may be a while until you see me again. Oathsworn may be to blame for my upcoming disappearance. I’m reaching my 100th video soon! I think a “Top 20 Personal Favorite Solo Board Games” video would make for a great 100th video! Something tells me you’ll like that, too! That’s it for now. Thanks again for taking the time to hang out with me, Solo Knights! Sincerely, Solo Board Gaming Knight
They really should drop the 'Tiny' from this series of games. Most games go for 'shelf presence' and give you a deck of cards in a giant box, which is horrible, but then you get games that will just never fit back in the box and also leave no room for the day one expansions.
I think a slightly bigger box would allow the game to still be tiny while protecting the components. The clue envelopes were crushed and I had to gently open them because none of the cards would fit inside. I can’t believe that there are so many board game companies that don’t include a useful insert.
I wanted to add that there are a few board games with a good insert. Tales to Amaze and Heat both had incredibly well made inserts. Heat even left room for an expansion sleeved! Oathsworns’ insert was decent, too. Kinfire Chronicles also had a good insert. I agree with you, some companies just throw a deck of cards in a huge box and leave you to figure it out. Lost Ruins of Arnak comes to mind as well as Eldritch Horror.
Excellent review and interesting you couldn’t find some version of Clue when you were looking for it? I almost always see at least one copy at thrift stores and many versions at Targets or WalMarts (not sure where you live?). Anyway, I have purchased and backed many Tiny Epic games with the expansions. What I have found that helped me out with storage is taking the expansion box and adding it on top of the base game box bottom. Putting the base game lid on that and then the expansion box lid on the bottom of the base game box to kind of hide the lid lift effect. I’m not saying that will help for this game not knowing how much content comes in the expansion box but this worked great for Tiny Epic Pirates. I purchased some 3D printed helm wheels that hold the pie shaped pieces on the rondel way better. It caused lid lift of the base box but because I had the Curse of Amdiak expansion I was able to use that box for it.
During the pandemic, while I was looking for Clue, it was sold out everywhere. Not even Amazon had it! Today, it’s readily available everywhere but I’m interested in different board game experiences now. I was able to use both boxes for Tiny Epic Dungeons and I had not problem storing the game (slight lid lift) but Crimes is impossible. At least the way I stored it, all of the cards are sleeved and I don’t have to worry about damaging the components (especially the clue envelopes which were already crushed when I opened the box). I think a slightly bigger box would’ve fixed this issue with no problem. Maybe next time
During the pandemic, Clue was sold out everywhere! It’s funny how when you’re looking for something, it’s hard to find. Then, when you’re not looking for it, you find it everywhere!
I've been eyeing this game--it looks great!! LOL@trying to put all of the pieces back into the Tiny Epic box😂. I have several games which I don't keep in their original boxes--too many expansions! A few house rules might help with the event cards and rolls.
I watched a few videos on storing small boxed board games and one thing that has kept coming up across the board was a photograph box that holds smaller photograph boxes that are used for storing games like this. It’s worth looking into. As always, thanks for watching! I always appreciate your comments!
I just got this game before Christmas with its expansion but just have not had any chance to delve into it. Great video. I love all the Tiny Epic games. Can't wait for Tiny Epic Cthulhu and Heroes of Land, Air & Sea to arrive.
Thank you! If you’re a fan of the Tiny Epic series, you’re going to like it. Especially since you bought the expansion. I’m hearing good things about Cthulhu.
@@SoloBoardGamingKnightI'll just say this. I love all of the Tiny Epic games. Even Tiny Epic Western, which is completely not in my wheelhouse. But I bought all the Tiny Epic games after I had bought Dungeon Heroes Deluxe because I fell in love with the small box games and seeing how fun that game was. There is so much goodness and unique gameplay in all those boxes in my opinion. I am just so impressed with Gamelyn Games catalog. I guess I'm a fanboy. While I still hold a ton of love for Fantasy Flight Games, especially anything based in Terrinoth/Runebound, I absolutely love Gamelyn's products. This game really isn't in my wheelhouse either, and maybe this becomes my first Tiny Epic game I am not too hot on, but I'm hoping if I liked their western game, then this will fair the same for me.
@@joefell5311 Since you’re a fan, I truly think you’ll love it. I know how you feel. When there is a developer that you love, you will appreciate everything they release. I have a few favorite developers, as well. I’m glad you enjoy the Tiny Epic series! I really hope you enjoy it!!
Oh my gosh, dear Knight, I have literally just bought this 2 days ago, and you come out with a review of it, yeeessssss 😊 I haven't had the chance to play it yet because work has been so incredibly busy these last few weeks, so this is perfect timing. Gonna watch your video right now. Will comment afterwards 😉❤
Hey, MickeyMyers! Hope you’ve been good! Enjoy the game and if you remember, let me know what you think about it after you play it. I wonder if you’ll have the same experience I had with the dice rolls. That clip I included had me cracking up!
What a great video, Knight! Just finished watching during my break time at work. That clip from home alone killed me 😂 absolutely loved the video. I too was super impressed with how they managed to fit all those tokens and cards into such a tiny box! As you know, I haven't played it yet but I opened the box to check the contents as soon as it arrived 😂 I didn't think about how hard it will be to put it all back though! Ai ai ai 😅 I'll let you know as soon as I play it. I'll start reading the instruction manual today and that part for me, no matter what game it is, is what takes the longest. It's so hard to fit all the rules in my brain! I always have to read instruction manuals several times over before actually starting to play 😂 Once again, great video, buddy! Talk soon! ❤
@@mickeymyers13 Thanks! Yeah, I couldn’t get it back in the box without bending the cards. I’m the same way with rulebooks. Right now I’m reading Oathsworn and it’s going to take me a while to finish it. Glad you liked the video and we’ll see each other soon! Take care.
Oh, hey Knight, before I forget, have you heard of this game from Kosmos called "Adventure Games - The Great Hotel Abbadon"? It's marketed as a mistery story where you have to solve it by finding clues and following different paths without time constraints. Seeing that you, like me, like mysteries and solving murder stories, I thought I'd ask you about this one. I have ordered it about a month ago and it's still on its way to me, so I have no idea if it's good or not, but I'll let you know once I get my hands on it. Just thought to let you know since you've been wanting to play a "Clue" style game. As always, much love brother, and have a great day! 😉
I haven’t heard of it but now that you mentioned it, I’ll definitely look into it! From you you described, it’s right up my alley. Thank you, brother! 🤜🤛
i play this game last sunday and have same problem to manage event card and i can't figure the weapon that murderer uses because im too busy to deal with event card (robbing, clearing mobster in a row, put out the fire, catch snitch etc). Yeah i agree with you in this video that you must setup everytime you draw event card is a bit fiddly and make me often forget what phase i still doing in my turn (action phase, draw event card phase, or mobster roll phase) I play only base game, i have the expansion and excited to play it next! i hope it add more fun into this game thank you for the video its really enjoyable to watch
Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Now I know I’m not the only one that noticed the issue with the event cards. Although the expansion does not solve that problem, I enjoyed what it added to the game.
7:50 DUDE....!! Watch out with those loud scream you put in your video. I had to hurry up and turn the voice down twice trying not to horribly wake up everyone in the house while watching. Also, you repeat yourself a lot. The video should be about 5 minutes shorter.

I like very much. The caos is result of the dungeons crawlers games inspiration.
It can definitely be fun, especially with the expansion. Glad you liked it!

Maybe I will see if I can pick one up second hand sometime, Detective City of Angeles by Van Ryder seems to be the game you want to pick up I think.
Considering Van Ryder created Final Girl, I think you may be right. Thank you for the recommendation and bringing Detective City to my attention!
Too expensive though.
Games nowadays have sky high prices.
Add shipping cost and you go broke....😧
Hearing your dilemma about not being able to get Clue, there's about six of them at my local Goodwill 😉
