    Definitely think they need to start considering bike only times -- and even bike only days.
    Mixing bikes and cars at high speeds on any circuit is pretty dangerous.

      Comedic Sketches Why are you saying that motorcycle crashes are the only crashes that happen due to stupidity, watch any compilation of the tourist times and almost all of the crashes happen because of idiots going too fast or trying some stupid tricks like drifting. They should make bike only days because when a biker falls over they have nothing to protect them from that 2000kg bmw driving a bit too close. Car drivers usually just don't think that their car can turn a biker into a pancake that easily. And why are you saying mixed "race days", when the point of touristenfahrten isn't about racing and laptiming but letting anyone go circle the track.

      In this video the driver who pushed him outside wasn't a BMW driver. There's dangerous drivers with all kind of cars and the worst are the ones that don't care about the most fragile. Pedestrian, Cyclist and bikers.

At that speed he could have entered the turn from the inside, which is where he should have been since he was nowhere near the limit of the car's ability.

    • @PaulPunk23LP
      @PaulPunk23LP Рік тому

      @@yeahnahsweetas i totally get you, but during a tourist drive, you are only allowed to go as fast as traffic allows it. If you actually want to go that fast, go on a trackday or do some road races. The Audi probably saw him in the last second and just wanted to move out of the way. Thing is, on a tourist drive, you can drive as slow as you want to go. And of course, rhe Audi should stick to the right side of the track, but some people dont just want to sit on the apex, blocking everyone. (because especially in this corner, you can easily crash or slide off, when you don't stay on the inside)
      Better to ride safe. People won't expect you to race on the tourist day like a moron. (Because its not allowed). Btw, what the bike did in that clip is even breaking the law (according to german law, this is an illegal road race)

      Rules of the Nurburgring: overtaking is always on the left to you keep right. The Audi saw him coming, still he kept left and he indicated left. That's dangerous and confusing. Either you indicate right and you go right, or you don't indicate at all so the rider behind isn't confused by your behaviour. It would be OK if the Audi kept left and didn't indicate. That's so much as saying "I saw you but I will still act dangerously"

    • @mattcwell
      @mattcwell 3 роки тому +1

      @@l.d.t.6327 you couldn't be more wrong. First of all, overtaking is done on the left, not on the right. In addition, this is a blind, off-camber, uphill corner with a very small margin for deviating from the racing line. It's why you see so many cameras there. Absolutely stupid thing to attempt a pass there during a touristfharten lap, against regular tourists.

    • @l.d.t.6327
      @l.d.t.6327 3 роки тому +2

      @@mattcwell my bad, I accidentally changed left and right. I edited my comment. Still the Audi was dangerous. He didn't follow the race line to keep the curve, he followed the outside line because he thought the motorbike would prefer to pass on the inside of this 'youtube curve'. While he kept the outside line (the ideal racing line), he went superslow and braked hard. Either you keep your racing line and you keep your speed, or you move and slow down. Don't keep the racing line while braking hard, like the Audi did.

    • @mattcwell
      @mattcwell 3 роки тому +2

      @@l.d.t.6327 The point is that it’s a tourist day. That may be that person’s literal first time seeing that corner, which as I pointed out is a totally blind, off-camber, very line-specific corner. That this rider decided to race a family hatchback around a difficult corner with the only escape-route being to go off track.
      I am not arguing about what the Audi should or shouldn’t have done. As a rider with a machine like the R1, you have to be absolutely certain of what the car in front of you is doing before you try to make and outside pass around a blind, off-camber corner. It’s not smart riding - period.

      LOL, may be right but he was at least on the ring not at all one of the fastest, though probably more likely middleclass. If not slower. 500 HP are no garanty for fast laps on the ring, you can be for sure faster with a good working 600ccm bike if you know where to throttle

      @Trollnald Dumb Hab ja nicht behauptet, er könne nicht fahren. ;-) Jetzt ist aber Wheelie fahren nicht unbedingt sooo schwer, auch nicht kerzengerade und auch nicht jenseits der 200 und auch nicht einhändig. Finde ich. ABER auf dem Ring wirklich schnell zu sein....das packt halt nicht jeder..LACH.
      Sorry, ich bin nicht objektiv, ich mag halt nicht Typen, die mit 250 durch Städte fahren und sich als super Fahrer feiern lassen. Wir haben am Ring über den Typen gelacht. Dass der keine Schneckenspur hinter sich gelassen hat....

    Clearly his own fault @1.38 The problem here is he comes so fast from behind that the driver of the Audi couldnt see him at this point.
    The Audi driver would probably check his mirrors after leaving the corner before, then his view goes to the next corner, check where he starts to break! From this point on he is watching for his turning point an apex and hasnt time to see whats behind.
    Its the responsibility of the driver behind to overtake in a save way. And after all there are road laws and its a tourist drive so you have all the different skill levels on track!

      The rules of the Nordshcleife states that you must let faster drivers/riders pass by moving to the RIGHT side of the track. The driver did not follow the rules, that's why he got pissed.

    • @Dekkie-oe6ti
      @Dekkie-oe6ti 6 років тому +57

      Johnny Chimpo, move to the right side when SAFE to do so. Not when you are committed to a corner way before someone approaches. The biker made a mistake and wanted to blame someone for his error.

      The car had time to turn right, not stay on left how he does. That's it.

    • @droceretik
      @droceretik 6 років тому +4

      He wasn't looking in his mirrors frequently enough and didn't need to use the curb to curb racing line. The bike was visible from the previous right hand turn over 200 metres back. Bikes always have their headlight on. The driver needs to pull his head out of his arse. Nino needs to ride more deffensively to cater for dick head drivers.

    Enjoy the fucking savage riding, and stop complaining about what others do. It's he's fucking life.
    Ride safe and don't be stupid.

      @RobManser77 7 років тому

      TheFunkyair Officially for a full lap it's 7m49, by Helmut Dähne back in 1993 during a race. However, there are plenty of laps timed from Bridge to Gantry that suggest full laps quicker than that - the fastest that I know of is a BTG of 7min10s on a modified R1, which would be a full lap around 7m25ish. It's worth pointing out that such a BTG time is done on a public day with other cars around, whereas most of the famous car times are done on an empty or empty-ish track.
