Solid video! I can’t get enough on delta stripers, this is good info to help get other on fish cause I’m sure a lot of people give up from not being able to figure it out or find people who can share some basics. It’s hard to know what you don’t know. also, props to those who figured it out the hard way when there was no UA-cam or other content to help.
I'm 65, I fish for stripers in the San Francisco bay and ocean for the last 55 years I'm not seeing fish over 6 pound in the last few years, I plug fish but this year I got a halibut on every 3rd trip and a bass on every 3rd trip but like they say it's not the old days! Thanks great information
I never comment on vids, but thank you sir! I appreciate how detailed you are and I’m also a visual learner so this helped a bunch. All the same areas I been going to but I just started fishing this year and got a little puddle jumper it’s been an overload of information but when u hook one it’s worth it! Thanks again
Just turned 56, lived in Rio Vista almost all my life and fished the entire Delta for many many years, my grandfather, my dad, and countless friends.. still fish it to this day. I can tell you, this is pretty spot on, though I think you are stretching it a bit into January. :) Great information for anyone looking to get a head start on Striper fishing in the Delta! Fun fact, the rip rap (rocks) that line the levees between Rio Vista and Isleton is GREAT smallmouth fishing. Ok not stripers but still fun.. crawdad Bomber Model A's for the win there!!! Keep fishing!!!
Wow! Locations....you actually gave us locations. Thank you so much. I picked up a ton of great information with this video. I took my boat out to the Delta last weekend for the first time, and sure wish I had seen this before I went. I was soooo close to some of these spots, but not quite there. And it showed cuz I came up empty on Stripers. Caught a lot of bass mid day, but nothing in the morning when I was targeting striper. Can't wait to get back out there loaded with your help. Thanks again!
Thank you for the best info yet! I am excited to go out and try your suggestions and see how it goes, what I’ve been doing isn’t working and now I know why!
I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video! I've been fishing for stripers here for my whole life, but now I have access to a boat so I'm going to try to catch some big ones this fall
Thanks for the comprehensive tutorial on Delta stripers. You covered a lot of territory which has me thinking about safety issues while traversing the delta from point A to point B. Two areas addressed on your aptly explained map include shallow Franks Tract and Sherman Island, places I’ve been afraid to explore because of stories I’ve heard. For example, “There are submerged tractors in shallow Frank’s Tract that will obliterate your out drive/prop, etc.” Can you offer a few words about how to travel safely on those two specific delta bodies and also address some general safety tips we can use getting back and forth to some of the other places you highlighted and recommended? Thanks again for putting together a super delta striper video…one of the best I’ve seen.
Actually we get have had this request multiple times and are working on a hazards of the delta video. First we are just trying to get the best data to present to everyone on these hazards as we know of some but most definitely not all. Hopefully we have this video out soon. Thanks for watching!
Hi: I just ran across this (your) video; It was absolutely loaded with so much good info and facts on fishing for stripers in the Delta. I am 80 years old and have been fishing since age 4. I love to surf and forebay cast fish for stripers; I catch a few. Where might is a decent spring and winter easy access spot for me to try? I live near Concord.
Great video bro.. i fish elk horn boat launch and up north into feather river.. new to fishing river fish i more a ocean Fisher men. I started to make fishing video to help my children who I haven't seen since the spark of the flu shit and everything was shut down.. so i started to make fishing video and what I use or my set up many think it over kill but I take four type of bait with me beside the live one i catch and use.. end of March was my first hit and bite from fish.. Jan Feb had no luck with stripper bass no go for me what I used water was to cold and the run off from the farms dumping into the river from there pumps. But this second year fishing and this what I notice.. i do bank fishing no boat yet have one but making a tiny boat on a 25 footer aluminum boat.. video still getting edited for the channel have lots of fishing video that will go up soon as I watch and cut some of it down and show the catch where i don't get them out the water to stress them unless they are of weight and size but small one i release with out getting them out the water.. vest fisting all night into sin rise to 10 am after that it slow way down to 5pm and pick back up and best time face of the moon also.. like today to it a full moon best time.. high tide also best time.. i use dancing worms to fish. All day every day they hooked on all other bait they just hit it but very few get hooked on.. Rod mid action with 40 broad line married to 40-60 money test line with a high low rig and cast not in the deep just before the the dip in the water it from zero to 13 feet just before the drop off they like to run here and stay here as they ambush they pray.. Warning out here of blue and black jet ski who don't not care you fishing they will ride in front of your lines happen to me a few time already this month and fitting into fight where they was lucky WFC save there ass.. but I hit one who was I was casting out and wanted the bride on my kill box and got hit by 7oz weight tide to 100 lbs test line as it rapped it self around and dragged his ass back to the bank like a fish.. this happen today me twice this month and it just started. All other ok they move out your way just the new boatersand young's one who will ride over your lines and don't care you fishing there. So i armed when i go fishing now.. due to the dumb one.. Elk horn boat launch to the feather River where i hunt at.. other now see my spot and get packed fast this why we get here early and go to the back why other innsbag area because many don't want to walk down the beach to the golden spot where they see us get fish all day..
braid is much better than mono or fluoro for trolling, it gets down deeper with deep diving yozuris and you can see if your lure working by looking at your rod tip, the hooks never rip out with yozuris as long as your drag is not super tight
I fished the sac delta 40 years ago in the 1980s when I lived in Roseville, and early 1990s. You think the fishing is good now, shoulda seen it back then. Way less boats and fishermen. One time I was fishing a little slough somewhere near Rio Vista and there was 60 foot whale in there. He was there for about 4 or 5 days, the TV station was there they named him Humphrey. I don't remember if they ever got him turned around. Imagine hooking that. My best was a 53 pounder, I think it was on a redfin. White with red head. 40 years ago wow

Great vid.. thanks!! Do you troll on the big motor or trolling motor
braid is much better than mono or fluoro for trolling, it gets down deeper with deep diving yozuris and you can see if your lure working by looking at your rod tip, the hooks never rip out with yozuris as long as your drag is not super tight
Good video bro ..Only problem I have with the delta is the weeds man ..Getting to the bottom I always get snagged
Nice job. You got another sub.👍
Great video man. Thx!
Glad you liked it!
Great video. I’m new to the delta and looking for someone for on-water directions from bethel island to the San Joaquin. Are you available for a fee
good point on waiting to set the hook on strippers, they are notorious for smacking the bait before eating it.

Local fish markets often sale fresh sardines
Do you think there’s a chance I could get a big striper in the delta right now? Since the run is technically over
Whats a good spot to launch from to get good fishing access to san joaquin river going in april do i go north or south from launch ?
What size hooks do you upgrade glide baits to?
What is the tournament you fish on the delta???
Cordell poppers really work?
Hi, I'm living in bay area if I fishing on bank with bait, which area is best is it.
What name of brand for reel????
Will this also work in the rural area canals that connect with the delta ?
It should work, especially the bait fishing or throwing swimbaits and too water for em. Thanks for watching!
