I hope they do the reverse episode…what location did they resist going to for a long time, but ended up being pleasantly surprised once they went.
Like their recent Mama Melrose review?
I certainly know my answer for this question. Liberty tree. I don't even care for Thanksgiving food so I always passed on Liberty Street but we ate there on our last trip and I was amazed. It is one of our staples for future trips now
YES!!
Been to 71’ a bunch of times and I have yet to have a bad experience. Food and services have been excellent every time. I’m sorry so many have not had as good a time.
Am forever grateful for being invited to join Pete for the final dinner at The Wave. Got to have dinner at Steakhouse 71 on our end-of-November trip last year and had an amazing time with dear friend Panda.
So jealous, I hope to join Pete in a review and non review meal someday!
Lucky. Pete is a legend.
I love the “yummy yummy” at the end. It makes me laugh and smile! ❤
I use a point system for my dining reviews with friends…might be helpful for you guys, feel free to use :). I give a 3 point system for 3 elements of a dining experience - food, service, atmosphere. I think a great dining experience has to have all three elements in it. It might help quantify and explain (and organize) your reviews. Each of the 3 elements is given a number between 0-3. Super easy.
My biggest disappointment has always been the resort quick service locations closing before park closing. Esp when we were value resort guests (now DVC), you close the park, wait for the bus and the food court is closed.
I finally had the Bacon and Egg at Steakhouse and it was fantastic. You can't get it to take out at the restaurant but was told by the hostess that I could get it at the lounge. The bartender told me that they were not supposed to do take out but he did. I am so glad he did.
Love Ryno's Rocko's Modern Life shirt! Please bring more of this, aside from having to pre plan everything at Disney, these food reviews also help planning out the food portion of one's visit!
Some quick service is better than table. I'll take satuuli canteen over half the table service restaurants at wdw. Cheeseburger pods for the win
Steakhouse 71 was a huge disappointment for us. We waited 30+ minutes after our reservation time to even be seated and the food was all lackluster and flavorless. Waitstaff took forever to come around after we were seated and we also waited a long time for our meals.
Been to SH71 4 times..has never disappointed
We went on Easter Sunday. It was ok
Your older videos with Pete regarding this topic made my restaurant selection so much better. Love these talks.
Totally agree with Erica. Contempo cafe used to be our jam. It has slid. They don’t have the peanut butter pie anymore. Also I would like a hotel quick service be open late. I don’t expect full menu, but sometimes you get off that bus and you just want a slice of pizza or a quick sandwich. Thanks guys! Love this topic.
Agree with Space 220.. for 4 of us our meal wasnt cheap but the meal was one of the worst experiences of our trip.. maybe because we had hyped it so much in our head and got so excited to get a reservation... great video :)
once and done experience.
100% a la carte pricing would work for me at Space 220 because I was so disappointed to have paid $55 to eat there and the only thing that appealed to me on the menu was the hamburger and fries. What a letdown.
Ryno is on point today. I am starving when I get back to the resort each day. We LOVED the mara for a late night snack nearly every day at akl
I love dining at WDW, but for the money, I am enjoying small bites and counter service experiences more. I think mostly because for the price I should be wowed by food, experience and environment. LOVE WATCHING THIS TRIO👏🏼
Of course the value resorts have bigger and better quick food courts because they have the family’s who are looking for a less expensive, quick meal. The deluxe resorts are a different group of people who have a larger budget and expect luxury.
Be Our Guest. It was spectacular as a quick service and the breakfast couldn’t be beat but the current prix fee menu is horrible.
Still not ready Ryno's "Yummy Yummy" at the end of every episode. Cracks me up every time!
Erica is so sweet! I really like her input ❤
I want more Craig vs Pete vs Ryno. They're such different persaonlities and would be fun to see them disagree. We saw that today with Steakhouse 71. Not fake arguing but organic like today
Love this discussion. You guys are the best! :)
It’s a matter of opinion what someone thinks is horrible and disappointing. I can’t stand Ohana but everyone wants to pump it up as such a great restaurant. What you find offensive or disappointing may not be to me. This is the problem, the public listens to other peoples opinions and don’t experience things on their own. The other problem is peoples expectations are way too high. They act like they need a five star Michelin meal every meal but at home they’ll eat a box of Kraft Mac n cheese.
100% agree and that's the issue with be our guest now. We had a phenomenal dinner there. So many people trash it and have never even been
To your other comment I have to disagree. People expect high quality meals because they are paying high prices. They can eat Mac n cheese at home for 2 bucks
Of course people's opinions will vary, but that's why the reviewers give their reasons for why they didn't like it so viewers can figure out for themselves if they want to try it or not. But, to your point, the reverse can be true, too. I know one vlogger who praises Garden Grill every chance she gets, but I think it's the worst restaurant we've eaten at while at Disney. So people who can't think for themselves will also visit awful restaurants that are bad.
Love this group!
Fully Agree! Steakhouse 71 is very meh. Not even close to the surprising and satisfying Wave - it’s more expensive and worse quality. Disappointing.
I completely agree on Space 220. It was a one and done for us and getting the reservation was far too difficult for what the experience was. We also got the lounge reservation, which lets you order a la carte from the menu. It's a strange setup.
I must say that my family and I went to Space 220 lounge, and we were in and out of that place. Had two cocktails, and an appetizer. Weren’t in there longer than an hour and a half. Definitely recommend that this panel tries the lounge. And we were all very satisfied!
That’s exactly why I only do the lounge at Space 220!
For sure 100%
We ended up sitting at the bar on our visit to Space 220. Our bartender had Mixology Certification, and had worked for Disney for 20(ish) years. He asked what base spirit we liked, and made us custom cocktails from scratch. It's too bad the menu is limited, because I feel like the knowledge and expertise is definitely there, but if you have to search for it, that's a challenge.
Was his name Josh?
@@briandaly6868 I can't remember. Bald guy, chill "Bruce Willisy" vibe?
Hey @Craig, I've definitely seen the uptick in video production in the channel's videos. Great job.
While watching this video, you were discussing the location of san angel, and how beautiful it is. Do you think adding some short clips of that footage would help viewers (obvi not podcast listeners) get a visual impression of what you are taking about?
Anyway, you three are doing awesome. Inlove the chemistry you all have and say hi to Ryno. I saw your video the other day and his comment about clams cracked me up. Hello from Massachusetts !
Steakhouse 71 is the only restaurant there which I sent an item back to the kitchen. It was also annoyingly loud in there.
Yummy yummy. LOL
Captain Cooke’s used to be so much better and even stay open all night. They used to have so much more food options.
General complaint is that none of the restaurants/bars are open late for when you get back from the parks at midnight. There should be options for food and drink until at least 2am. People are on vacation. Vacation has no time clock.
Yes!
Coral reef might be the most disappointed I've ever been in a meal
We had TERRIBLE service there. Still to this day the worst service I've had at any disney restaurant. The food was forgettable.
I’m with Ryno on Space 220. When I went in January I was so hyped for it…I only booked the lounge as didn’t want to pay for the hefty $80 per person dinner menu. The drinks were not great, the food was tasty but it was just devilled eggs, chicken & waffles and sliders…which you can get anywhere i feel. Also the bar didn’t scream space to me and the choice of furnishings in the lounge especially felt like an after thought. If you sit with your back to the “space window” it doesn’t feel like you’re in space, almost like you’re in a conference hall…they could have even done something fun in the rest rooms but they didn’t. I wouldn’t rush back.
Perfect timing
I’d love to see you three do a tapas review at Jaleo!!
BOMA for breakfast. Used to have such unique options and now it's just boring and not so great breakfast
I think Ryno just described the Space 220 lounge, where you can order shareable plates a la carte with drinks or do the fixed menu.
Totally agree on Capt. Cook's. There is no originality to the menu, and even the meatballs are worse today than a few years ago. I think the size of the space works for the resort, but it needs new menu items and a better location for the drinks.
I’ve consistently had better steak at Texas Roadhouse for a fraction of the price of 71
Coral Reef Restaurant for sure.
One of my favorite meals on property is Walt’s Prime Rib Hash at breakfast - comes with a sunny side up egg. Yum! At brunch, I’ll add a petite wedge salad.
We were just in WDW last week. We were disappointed with Morimoto Asia 😮 We loved it last year but the food was lackluster and not hot. We agree with Craig about Steakhouse 71. Steaks were disappointing. Our new favorite restaurant is Tiffins! ❤
I hope you can review the Coral Reef again. The last time I was there was 2010, and it was expensive with small portion sizes, mediocre food, and slow service. I watched your 2019 review and there were some similar issues then.
Thank you,Craig, for your Steakhouse 71 comments. I was totally disappointed with steak quality and ambiance. My wife and I were seated in front of the window which allows a grand view of the backs of people at the bar. My wife had her back against the picture window allowing a view of the ambiance of people eating their meals.
The steak quality was okay but not great as Pete raves about. The level of service was a 9.0+. I think I'll enjoy another restaurant for steak.
Ryno - I’ve heard there is a secret drink menu in the Space 220 lounge. Might be worth checking out. Totally agree on San Angel Inn. So much potential wasted.
Ryno, I feel EXACTLY the same about Space 220!!
San Angel-one of the most promising spaces put to the worst use. The food is horrible. 👎 The other biggest offender is Tony's. Location is great and decor is adorable. The food is barely edible. 😠 Such a waste of great spaces. Cinderella's Royal Table is another example of a wasted space. It is gorgeous inside. It's literally a 🏰 and has characters which we love 😍 and then the food comes 🤬and it's at best mediocre. It's a one and done, which is ashame as we are primarily a character dining family. So it's Topolino's, O'Hana, Garden Grill and Tusker House for us at least once each trip. 🤷♀️
Did you love 1900 Park Fare? It’s so wonderfully unique! Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter for Breakfast and those stepsisters for dinner! What a hoot! (Plus Strawberry Soup!). I think it’s almost the very last restaurant that hasn’t returned! (Oh and Rapunzel and Flynn rider haven’t returned on the boardwalk either!)
San angel inn space is so unique. Ate there on our honeymoon and hated the food. The tables are also too close together
@@RLucas3000 We loved the characters, which were always on point. Unfortunately, we found the food was very hit or miss. They had a couple very good things, but the rest was pretty middling. Still much better than the castle, but not a favorite.
O’hana. O’hana. O’hana. Horrible now. Poor quality meat, less options, and of course, overpriced. Used to be a family favorite…
Keep up the great shows❤best in broadcasting
Wow the wave was great, the dinner menu at steakhouse 71 when we were there in may was very limited and the quality was so so, staff was great food so
The breakfast at 71 is delicious.
I wanted to see Pete bash restaurants by saying "The food is garbage, it's overpriced, and they should be ashamed of themselves. There's no excuse, no excuse, to have this kind of crap experience at a Disney restaurant!"
Erika just wanted a dang quesadilla!
💯 on Steakhouse 71! We went out of our way to dine there and it was over salted and otherwise underwhelming. The server was fantastic though. We REALLY wanted to love it. Maybe it was an off day so we will give it one more try next time we go to WDW
Every trip I look at the Menu for San Angel Inn because its such a great location and ambiance. Been coming to Disney since 2004, have never dined there because the menu at my local place is better.
Like breakfast at Steakhouse 71 and their onion soup that's it. Steak yuck stringy last 2 times so won't go for dinner again will go for breakfast only.
If I’m from the UK can I still book through dreams unlimited travel ?
Yes!
Craig, I concur about Steakhouse 71! It was meh.
Went to Space 220 when it first opened and everything we had came out super quick. However, we were there right at open so it could be that the kitchen wasn't at capacity at that point.
I staid at poly for first time in September and loved multiple items on captain cooks menu throughout the trip but even in that short week quality seemed inconsistent. It really seemed like some of the items just had sat for hours some times but when it was fresh I loved them. My solution was to buy food there and if it came out “old” I’d nicely ask if they they could remake.
I'd say Biergarten. I enjoyed myself but didn't like a good number of items, so I was disappointed. Atmosphere and service are great but food was hit or miss for me. And I like German food!
I feel the same about Biergarten. I went once and though I enjoyed the entertainment and atmosphere, and my server gave great service, but the buffet food was cold. If the food was much warmer, it would have elevated the quality.
Yes I love it in there but definitely the food could be better. The vanilla sauce is not even warm
Mama Melrose at HS is quite poor, terrible pasta.
Ryno's Modern Polo
Im 40 and love Full House. Its Corral Reef. lol....
On our last trip we stayed at the Poly and had breakfast the very first day at Capt. Cooks and everyone in my family hated it. We also went to Space 220 and while my sister and I hated it, my mom and grandma loved it. While we were in MK we ate at Columbia Harbor House and my mom and grandmother called it one of the worst meals of the trip.
Craig is spot on… we are 0-2 at Steakhouse ‘71. Steaks are very unremarkable. Twice we have had to send steaks back as well due to poor execution from the kitchen
Love the Rocko shirt
Try Steakhouse 71 for breakfast. Went there for breakfast a couple of months ago and it was amazing
I loved steakhouse 71! Could agree with Space 220 although it was great when I went idk if I would go back.
I’d add 50s prime time, sci fi dine in, maybe even chef mickeys. & Garden Grill, and Be Our Guest (our worst meal when we went, so so bad) oh also Chefs De France, horrible.
Thanks All! I agree on pretty much all you said. Honestly for my trips I plan to eat dinner out someplace nice once (I think I'm going to try Citricos on my next trip) and then maybe 1 buffet/character meal. Everything else will be quick service or grab and go. It would be good to know easy places to find fresh veggies and fruit (I'm not vegan but do try to eat a lot more veggies and fruit than other stuff). I know that Ft. Wilderness has a small grocery type store. I believe the value resorts have some options. Does Disney Springs? Is there a list someplace of the best salads in WDW?
Hi! I'm an annual passholder who also eats lots of fruits and veggies!
Each park has a fruit stand. Hollywood studios has Anaheim Produce ( near Tower of Terror ), Magic Kingdom has Liberty Tree Market ( near Hall of Presidents ), Epcot has a cart outside of The Land, and Animal Kingdom has the Harambe Fruit Market ( near Kilimanjaro Safaris ). They typically sell cuties oranges and pre-cut fruit ( sometimes served with cheese ). Most quick service restaurants offer cuties as a side dish as well.
Also, every resort has a "grab and go" food section where they have a variety of fresh and pre-cut fruits and veggies.
In terms of salad I've found that most of the time the quick service salads aren't the greatest ( to say the least... ) but my FAVORITE place to get salads is at Satu'li Canteen in Animal Kingdom. By far the best quick service salad I've tried. In general, if you are looking for more " veggie heavy " meals I'd recommend looking at the plant based options because they are usually a bit lighter than others.
I hope this helps!
@@frostingfluff Thank you!
I have the exact opposite opinion of Steakhouse 71. It is the best place on property when you compare quality and price. Hands down the best (my opinion). The breakfast is exceptional as well.
For me: backlot express. I got a chicken salad and my salad was brown and chicken dry.
Amare: over priced, not great, lack in flavor
Topolino Terrace: I got scallions. They were tiny for the price, rubbery and lack flavor
Awesome show guys! I agree with all of what you said. I would say I have gotten lucky by missing out on reservations, we were able to eat at the bar at Space 220 and the bartender custom-made something based on my favorite flavors. Same thing happened at Steakhouse 71. Dfbguide always says got the only consistent thing about Disney restaurants is the inconsistency. I have found that to be true and just am accepting it so I can stave off disappointment. The only restaurant that has always been perfection is Chef Arts in Disney Springs.
Here’s an idea for a future show…..The best SPECIAL EVENT restaurants in Disney World….Thanks😊
As a 90s kid i say rynos Rockos Modern Life shirt is awesome!
I went to Steakhouse 71 last year because of Pete’s enthusiasm for it. I was really disappointed. The food was ok, but the lunch time pacing was ridiculous. I felt like they wanted me to hurry up so they could flip the table. The whole thing was under 25 minutes and I had an appetizer and main course. I also agree with San Angel.....I love the atmosphere and wish the food was better.
I agree with Ryno. Space 220 is one and done .
maybe a more 50's futuristic style space diner aesthetic would have been cool
for space 220
the truth is most disney food is underwhelming, your usually being distracted by the overall disney experience and theming so your brain will make you think its better than it is.
Totally agree on Steakhouses 71. Tried it twice, both times not very good. Especially the steak for a steakhouse I wasn’t impressed.
The vegetarian wellington at Steakhouse 71 is so good. Everyone I was with loved their steaks.
Now that the 50th celebration is over can Steakhouse 71 go away ?
Ryno and the rocko shirt 💓
Also worst on WDW is the yacht club steak house, a year ago I had the worst meal I have ever had, staff was poor had to ask 3 people to get a steak knife in a steak house.
We didn’t have a single excellent meal in WDW last month. Sanaa, Chefs de France and Jaleo were all terrible and even California Grill was mediocre at best. We were gutted 😢
Craig, do TOP 20 places to eat in all of Disney world (stick down, walk up, stand on your head, all types), and bottom ten (places WAY too overpriced for anything you can get there, or places you’ve had multiple BAD dishes at)
No more than 4 or 5 at Springs, spread the love.
Off the top of my head:
Sanaa,
Boma,
1900 Park Fare (currently closed)
Raglin Road
Hoop-de-Doo
Hollywood Brown Derby
Satu’li Canteen
Abra-Kadabba
Sebastian’s Bistro
Chicken Guy
Art Smith’s Homecoming
Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs, it was never the best food but since the pandemic its just not as good anymore cause they dumbed down the menu.
I just got back from a 10 day trip to WDW and found dining as a whole to be the most disappointing part of my trip.
i was served the worst steak in my life at Steakhouse 55. It was a bone-in filet Mignon that was so tough that it was un-chewable.
Ryno! I love your shirt! That's Awesome 👌
I love Stake house 71 at dinner love the red wine sauce
Went to Steakhouse 71 in December and it was the best meal of the trip. Went again a few weeks ago, ordered almost the same thing and I was terribly disappointed. Smaller portions and tasted like poorer quality food. For the price, I won't be back.
Steakhouse 71 is one of the best restaurants on property. The burger is voted best item in the whole park. I think the issue is they are look for Disney to do something for them. It’s great if you only go a few times a year. Most people only go a few times a lifetime. I think you guys might want to try venturing outside the parks.
I don`t get it with Space 220, I realise there has to be some mainstream stuff for the people who aren`t adventurous with food, but why couldn`t they have a few items like the ones they served on the Starcruiser.
Space 220 is a one and done for us. Nearly $400 for us and 3...THREE hours of our day. We arrived around 5pm and were out after 8pm. Absolutely no excuse for that and we tried to get out earlier and faster but it just wasn't happening. :/
Oh wow, that’s a long sitting. I wouldn’t be happy either
Skipper canteen was very disappointing. My husband and I ate there a couple of yards ago. My chicken was cold and rubbery.I sent it back. The app I ordered instead, was not much better. I do agree that the Wave, was far better than Steakhouse 71.
I agree with Steakhouse 71 - the crabcake was good but the steak was just ok and its really loud
Definitely the Contempt needs to add more to their menu. It has been slim picks for quite a while compared to some others.
Most disappointing to me were: 1950s Diner and SciFi Drive In at Hollywood Studios. Also disappoing were Sunshine Season (meh!) and Flame Tree (it's never open!!).
Like the bar at steakhouse 71
