@@kirstygriffiths749 Think about fire logs left outside but under a shelter... they still dry out over time... construction timber comes over pretty green/wet
The heat rises above the cladding on the cooking appliances we have. We’ve tested the temperature twice with the egg and the heat coming out the side made no difference. You can put your hands on the side of the egg when it’s on so doesn’t get that hot. I’m more concerned with rain damaging it , does say it’s waterproof.
Bottom half of mine goes close to 100°c when doing a sear. I was thinking of using cement fibre cladding for added heat protection. Either that or cement fibre board with a tile or engineered hardwood over the top.
@@kirstygriffiths749 It will also be interesting to see if there is any buckling/warping of the cladding through freeze cycles over time, unless the No More Nails is flexible since it is rated for outdoors. My Kamado measures +200C around the seal, so I would have to be very careful how I surround it.
Wow🤩I wouldn’t have thought to use slabs for worktops 😮looks amazing!

Get well soon. Rest and a couple of hot totties never hurt 😂. Looks amazing!
for the cost, that looks amazing. If the no more nails flexible? Just hope it stays looking like that as all that timber dries out...
Dry out? In the UK 😂 I wish. Yes, it is flexible

@@LeonWiddicombe we store our pizza oven logs inside as they never dry out enough. Where I live nothing dries out! ☔️
Bq do some metal profiles aswell as timber in the same size. How did you secure the tiles
What flooring are you using for the cladding? Is it heat resistant?
