There's an old indie game called 'The Static Speaks My Name' that would be cool to see you play. It's a pretty dark game and it gives off a really lonely, almost liminal, vibe. I think it could make for an interesting video.
I remember Markiplier played that game years ago. Would love to see Librarian play it .

The vaulted high ceilings and drop lightings really reminds me of my local courthouse a lot, honestly it’s kinda uncanny, always get weird vibes going there whenever I have to get registration or pay property taxes. Also strange as it sounds it always has an odd smell and I can almost get a sense of what this place would smell like because of it

As far as shady corporations that dabble in teleportation go, Voltor somehow manages to out-shade Aperture, Black Mesa, and (classic) UAC.
It’s like a mix of the Backrooms and the Mandela catalog. I’m not sure how old the map is so I just find it really cool that it sorta takes the themes of both really anticipated found footage series’s. The idea of liminal space and the idea of entities or replicants wanting to take your place with the remark of “there isn’t enough room for the two of us.”

The "fake doorways" aren't doorways at all, rather it's because whoever made this map has no idea what they're doing and can't match things up right. The reason the map runs so bad is because the whole map is being rendered at the exact same time because there's so many errors that it can't be compiled properly, and the arched roof has around 1000 more polygons than it needs.

Hehe... Well, I tried to make the map normal. But this old engine was giving me a hard time... I couldn't normally mask the old passages, (I covered the old passages with a wall, but I couldn't properly insert it exactly as the wall itself is, because of this part of the walls bulged out.) The arched roof has a lot less polygons.
@@mrdiger Er, hey. Sorry if I sounded rude, I was in a pretty bad mood yesterday. I decompiled the map to have a look at it and noticed a lot of 1-unit thick walls and microbrushes, and nothing was marked as func_detail. Did you use the carve tool to make the arched roof? On the version I messed with there were tons of tiny, tiny brushes that had to be removed else vvis would crash. It's a cool map, but you should really look into optimizing it.

@@mrdiger quick pro tip - don't use carve. Ever. Instead, manually split your brushes and if you need an arch, use the arch subtype
This kind of gives me a Loki vibe, then the talk about bringing someone into any space is similar to the timeline patching.

I reccomend a map RP_Radar. Also known as Radar (Shadow Of Chernobyl) It's on workshop. It's a very scary map with underground ancient and abandoned secret labs. Try to find the entrance to them. You will start above ground. I reccomend thorough exploration of the labs. Trust me, It's a terrifying place that made me sit in one spot for 2 hours.
If you haven't played it, I think you'd really enjoy *CONTROL* for all its similar humor and *_deep_* back story. Plus all the notes, recordings and videos.
The room at 19:39 really reminds me of the Rattmann dens in the Portal games

You should revisit this map AGAIN, because there IS another update. And this time the generator has no off button (It has broken), and there is now a "Motion detector" that calls out when you enter or leave a door. *Or when ANYTHING does.*
Good improvement in the version before. Thought the old one was a bit lacking but there's more substance to it now. Feel it could still do with a bit more work though so will be interesting to see if the creator still plans any further updates in the future.
Yes, I'm planning the LAST update of the map, I'm going to add a new zone there, fix the walls and add 2 very interesting notes....
Quandale Dingle or other nextbots chasing you in vr on these kind of maps would give me a heart attack XD

OH GOD don't give any developers any ideas for any new Nextbot maps. It's bad enough we already have the Backrooms as one of them; but to throw-in Liminal Archive into the list, will totally make it even more insane than it already was.

You REALLY need to play the game "Hinge VR". It's not necessarily liminal per se, but it is very surreal in a way that fits your vibe.
I like how your voice puts a character feel. Like kinda like you are actually apart of the story or map. But also kinda Mets like because you are still reviewing or looking at a Gmod map

@@anoriginalname410 may not be remembering right but I think it’s that someone hacked some specific addons on the workshop and added NSFW images to them, as far as I know it’s only 3 addons, haven’t heard anything more
@@nerd8416 most of you probably know now, but disable your addons at least, just to be safe
@@nerd8416 I was a victim of this virus it plays some loud sound and covers the screen in a let's say unpleasant NSFW image, and spams insults towards garry and valve in the console. I should have removed addons one by one to find out which was the culprit, but was worried that the virus was doing worse behind the scenes that I'd be giving it time to do, so I just unsubscribed from all addons. I'm still worried about if there is spyware or dormant ransomware or anything else like that left over.
I have reputable virus protection software but I imagine viruses like this are difficult for antivirus developers with all of their heuristics and algorithms and whatever else to distinguish from intended behaviour. The same might extend to anything that lies in wait or that is quietly stealing my files/work or planning to ruin my day at some future time right now.

My theory for loading dock is that perhaps it heads out into some sort of industrial lift or elevator for transporting supplies to and from the surface.
He should try out, Dear Esther it's pretty much an exploration game with that liminal feeling before that was a thing(or maybe you're not so alone after all)

So... Hear me out, so I was testing the map by myself, right, and then, when I was exploring, all of a sudden, the lights went out and then a couple of seconds later a kind of music box song sounded throughout the entire map for just some seconds, and like I said I was in singleplayer, so it was impossible for there to be someone to turn off the generator power... I don't know, this is very weird, please let me know if it happened to anyone else, obviously after that happened I disconnected and left the game because I almost ... my pants.

What a fascinating map. To me this map feels more like an excerpt from a stand-alone game rather than a typical gmod map, I imagine it as an area you enter after a long elevator ride into depth’s of the basement from the ground floor of this mysterious company, maybe trying to uncover what exactly is going on as a rouge employee or something like that. It’s very unique in it’s presentation that’s for sure!

Map has a very similar name to a liminal spaces wiki called the Liminal Archives, which just had two of its spaces added to the game Enter The Backrooms.
At 6:45. The reason the performance is bad is those bugged textures. The map would need those replaced, or their .vmts corrected.

My Theory: The ship was teleported to the backrooms. I believe this because the ship was carrying components for the IFTY-85 project, which the KV31 project copied. The KV31 project was made for extra storage and workspace for the US Government by distorting space and time, and linking to the backrooms (you can go look on Kane Pixels' channel for more info). If the KV31 project was a copy of the IFTY-85 project, and the ship was carrying components for IFTY-85, there could've been a misfire of IFTY-85, leading to the ship teleporting to the backrooms.

Have you ever played control? Wonder what your thoughts are on the game. There are a lot of liminal/backrooms type locations in that game. It looks amazing too. When I picked it up to play it I had no idea what I was getting into and I was super surprised and glad that I decided to play it. The imagery was incredible. Reality Bending.
