- DIY Guitar - Thin Guitar Test, Magic Guitar Sound Box
This video is educational in nature, and our products are not for sale.
Watch this video until the end, hopefully it can inspire us all.
The sound is somewhat thin and tinny but It is impressive that you could get that much volume out of it!
Exactly what I thought too. I wonder what it would sound like with steel strings.
@@ArchFundy same here.
@@ArchFundy break
It’s interesting and sounds interesting too. Percussive. I can’t say it’s projecting like traditional bodies but it is projecting better than I’d expect. Seems enjoyable project and creative folk instrument.
thank you
I love that chord progression. Made me stop what I was doing to pick up my guitar to play along!
Song: Mendung Tanpo Udan - Denny Caknan
@@frymejoe Ah cool! Thank you!
@@frymejoe Watching the video to that song just changed my life
Oh wow. I thought it was some kind of instrumental/improvised version of "No Words" by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jesus Christ the sovereign God loves you my friends
Another piece of evidence that a person makes the guitar, not vice versa - a true professionalist will play perfectly any instrument. Bravo and I wish you every success! This guitar is really strange but it's nice and sounds good!
It just sounds like an unplugged electric guitar
@@nifiga_prikolno Nah it's better than that.
Idk about this ... Some cheap guitars are IMPOSSIBLE to play in tune... A quality instruments doesn't make a quality player, but it's also not true that a maestro can make a non quality instrument into a quality one.
We need the union of masters, and well designed tools
@@corytrees3797 Agreed. Playability is important, as is intonation and ability to hold tuning. And some cheap guitars will sound bad no matter what. However, these days the quality of mid-priced instruments has gotten pretty darned good, and you can get a darned good sound for not too much money.
I think it's cool. To hell with all these "experts" in the comments talking about "it has no body/bass", or " it doesn't project like a full body "...blah blah blah... those guys didn't create this, you did. And it sounds great! 👍
You honestly think this sounds ‘great’?…..
@@matthewalexander8752 for what it is, yes. The sound of an electric guitar or bass is mostly in the pickups, strings and amp. Very little comes from what the body is made of, if we are talking "normal" size electrics. Of course a huge semi hollow, or hollow body is going to have more bass, but those aren't everyday run-of-the-mill guitars.
Introducing the new Fender PaperCaster, the latest in cardboard acoustic technology...
Not bad! It doesn't have as full of a sound as a regular guitar, but it's more resonant than I would have expected.
Cool! This really shows how much of the sound is from the plates vs the air cavity.
Absolutely, it's more about the top and strings than anything. Of course add more tonewood and it can alter those sounds in their own way.
Lol, it sounds horrible, the top need space to vibrate, which in not happening here too much.
It sounds almost like a banjo. It has a lot of high end "tinny" sound. Very interesting.
Yes, that is true. It's because it is almost essentially a banjo itself. Banjos don't have a sound hole, but instead a thin canvas that disperses sound into a tight small acoustic body. That is where the "twang" comes from, well that and other things, but essentially you reduce the frequency of the sound by refracting it against a medium. On s standard acoustic body with a sound hole the compression waves from the sound travel freely into the body, dispersing at a ratio that is more harmonic. If they are forced through a canvas, or off of hard wood, they travel in chaotic waves which causes the twanging sound. When you play a standard acoustic body you are hearing varying components of sounds, from the sounds bounding directly off the wood to the sound resonating within the body, along with the tension of the strings (closer or further from the pegs). Ultimately the difference between this and a banjo is that a banjo (assuming nylon) will resonate much more from the body projecting the sound much further.
An early version of the acoustic guitar was just a hunk of wood with a neck. It was played by amateurs since pros used lutes. Later guitars had soundboxes which increased the volume and allowed more tonal control for the builder but there's no reason a guitar made from a solid block can't sound good acoustically.
Very good! This type of guitar definitely has it's place somewhere! Distinct sound!
Right away it's Alive! A New stringed 🪕 instrument that has a classic bango tone yet, I can't wait to hear one in person. A true guitar and I love light weight in guitars as I have Ibanez S models. Gotta build one of those. Thanks for being a Pioneer!
Sounds somewhere in between a banjo and a guitar. Nice playing.
Neat. I like this idea. What is the middle layer made out of? Did you try different materials? I have a 1956 National Reso-Phonic that is thicker than yours, but a similar idea. It has a shallow resonator cone with ventilated covers on both sides. It sounds best with relatively heavy strings for the lower register. Thanks keep inventing!
Cool Paul thanks for sharing where did you get that jammy just wondering I guess I can Google it anyway thanks for sharing buddy
Make a video, I was just thinking about bass strings on this, I am clueless when it comes to music theory, but that sounds like what I was thinking.
Wow, National Reso-Phonic 1956, must be awesome
no solo que tu guitarra te quedo genial, muy bien construida y suena chido para no tener caja; sino que tu timing al tocar y tu toque son muy buenos! saludos!!!
Wow , sounds like a new instrument, it’s very percussive, if it was my project I would put some kind of resonator in the sound hole
Good idea for a practice guitar without the bulk, and worry of banging around a traditional.
The super-thin build would make it ideal for putting in otherwise unused spots. Be fun to see the look on someone's face when you pull it out from its hiding spot!
Lacking of the reverb produce by the traditional body but this is a very good replacement for travelling guitar. compact size for compact backpack.
Sounds very much like a Banjo and quite sweet ! I like it
Sounds high in tremble. .add a pick up,and effects pedal. Electrify that baby!!!
Great useful sounds, some I've heard for the first time. I'm really glad I listened to the stereo output demo - feels spacey and dizzying in my seat. But I would like to try it on my board. Great stuff!
Incredible sound,,, and inspiration,,, congrautlations,,, have a good time,,, your friend Oscar,,,,
that is a cool idea. it sounded a tad bit like a banjo
it sounds so good- i thought that the width of the guitar would reduce the quality of the noise, and how long it retains for, but no... that is quite interesting
Would love to see plans on how this is made. Very nice
Asiyykk Masssehhhh....Buat yang lebih cuwantikkk.....diperbanyak terus dijual dg harga kompetitif... Insya Allah laku 🙏🏾...
sounds a little out of tune but it's really interesting how something so thin sounds good. Nice
Nice job..maybe mahogany back would sound much warmer i think...
Just trying to start up a small business doing this. Love your videos and cant wait for the day we can work our way up to getting the awesome equiptment you have. Definitely going to get Actionseps wish it wasnt only for photoshop but I like actionseps so much I guess im gonna have to get it !
the guitar is light and easy to play it is great
You should make some attachable backs for the guitar! This was it would be cool to experiment with different timbres created by wood (or other?!?!)
It has a nice, unique sound. sorta banjoish.
Mantaf ..terus berkarya anak bangsa
AMAZING WORK AND PLAYING! BRAVO!
The tone is a little short on bass, but it's impressive. Could one put a pickup in the bridge?
Great job. I'd like to hear it with a pickup in it as well.
Stay well my friend
It sounds just like an electric guitar that hasn't been plugged in
*******UNBELIEVABLY TRANSFERS QUITE AUDIBLY WELL!! OF COURSE...A GOOD GUITARIST HAS MADE THIS HAPPEN! NICE PLAYING Siwi Nugroho!!*******
thank you very much
projects as much as a ukulele, could be fun in a jam
Looks nice 😄👍 has a banjo sound about it.
nice playing. slap a cheap piezo pickup on there and it would sound like a million bucks.
Pengen banget bisa cobain dan pny.. Inovasi bgt. Kereen

Masukan bagus kang
It's pretty good sounding. Sukses selalu Mas
wow sound great
Why did you made that sound hole..?
Неожиданно и очень креативно!
Now this is a business opportunity.
Excellent. Est-ce possible d'avoir les plans de construction pour cette guitare ?
Pasti mantan karyawan Yamaha Music🤣
wow i imagined it was an electric guitar made by fender my world is Megan electric guitar and electric guitar volume pick anjirr 🤣🤣.
Sayangnya jawaban anda salah, saya hanya menyalurkan hobi kayu amatir
@@SiwiNugroho nop your pro king God

Suena bien, solo que "trastea" 👍🏽
Sounds thin too, in a good sense.
Kereeen 👍👍👍👍
Mantap
Penasaran pengen nyobain
Boleh om😁
OK, thank you. The lesson here is don't build a guitar like this if you want a guitar that sounds good. I'd say it was an interesting experiment but is anyone actually surprised by the results?? Even a low budget traditional acoustic will sound infinitely better than this guitar which sounds like a high end toy guitar (poor sound, poor intonation, bad fret buzz issues, etc.) But as far as toy guitars go, yours is the best.
More impressive is that he spent the time and effort to make something he is proud enough to share.
The body looks cool
Sounds exactly like I would have expected it to. No bass.
Very cool
Hadir bg 👍🙏
Definitely has a ''thin'' sound characteristic.
Bravo, you are an inventor and you played music very well.
Sounds like an unplugged electric guitar with nylon strings.
that sounds so nice and plucky =]
i hate to be the bad guy but... how do i know you didn´t fake it ? anyway if this is true you did a realy good job
Can you give me instructions on how to play this song?
I think with a pickup it would function better as an electric guitar.
Kowe blonjo dasteraaaaaan !
Nice sound
Cool!!
Actually he sounds good
song? really nice played btw
Awesome!!!!!!
This would be great for people who cant afford a full acoustic guitar you could sale it in a kit along with instrucions on how to build it
Legal, mas o sustain dela é bem fraco, o peso da guitarra influência muito no sustain das notas. Mas excelente pra andar com ela por aí 😉
é claro
Very nice. Put a few hinges on it and it'll probably fit in your pocket.🤪
Ya know, I think chet would approve
Never seen before in my life bro..🤘🤘
It's not terrible, but a standard acoustic body sounds much better.
no es la que usa el guitarrista de sting en el video de shape of my heart?
nice
Joss😎
I love the sound of strings themselves, and wish the sound box did not change the natural sound of them.
OF COURSE YOU LOSE VOLUME, and that is the sad part.
Keren gitarnya
Neat tune!
Que guitarra linda!!!
Nice acoustic guitar.
Great job brother thanks!🙏🏻
Flat and nice !
Good job.
Amazing!
Name of the song, the one you play??
