    Fantastic job looks great , to get a really nice finish quickly roll the paint on and then use a paint brush to knit the paint on the surface, knitting the paint on you go left to right then up and down then left to right but on the last left to right hardy any pressure on the brush . But I'm sure you have done a near perfect jod anyway as with the other work on the van.

      Thanks Sid, I’ll give that a go next time. The finish I better than I expected with a roller so super impressed with the paint and the roller choice!

    Looks great. A tip when your filming. You perspective is very close all the time. Try to take a couple of steps back and film the part you are working on and how it fits together with the rest of you build. Have the same vehicle and wanted to see how it looks together. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

      Thanks Dan, it’s partly the lens and tripod I’m using, difficult to move it too far away being a cozy L2 van! But will bear that in mind 👍🏻

    Maybe you switched the doors (left-right) on the first cabinet, so that they stick out on both sides with a wide gap in the middle.

    Hi Just found your Videos, getting loads of great Ideas. Can I ask with the drawers did you have any problems with them coming out while driving, I thought you would have had to put catches on?

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  Місяць тому

      Glad you’re finding the videos useful. Yeah I fitted electromagnets to the back of the drawers (electromagnet on the wall and metal plate on drawer) and then connected to D+ so when the ignition is on they all magnetise and lock the drawers. Probably overkill but don’t have space for hidden latches and it’s worked a treat over the past couple of years.

    What a great series, & a great build. Thank you for sharing all the details & your thought process as you move along. I don’t know if your existing vehicle interior light (in the upper cabinet) is going to be wired in so it always comes on when you open a door? I have transits where the cargo area lights stay on for about 30 mins after a door is opened. I find that this kills the vehicle battery in no time, if my techs open a door then leave it open, & repeat this during each working day. It obviously causes a dod issue with the vehicle battery. Just a thought.

      Thanks Ian, really appreciate the feedback and glad you found it useful. I reconnected that light to the vehicle so it does come on when the door is opened. However in the Ducato it seems to only stay on for a few minutes but will keep an eye on it 👍🏻

    Great videos! Curious as to the door latches you used and if they're doing a good job keeping the doors closed while driving? Thanks so much!

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you. We just used the push in latches from Wickes or Screwfix. Bit of a pain to line up but they hold the doors shut nicely, along with some hydraulic arms to keep the door open.

    Hi. Awesome video and very helpful, how do hide the cables inside the cabinet or can you see them. Only asking cos I'm gonna be doing cabinets next and not 100% sure. Thanks

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  2 роки тому

      Thanks Lee. I boxed in the cables where I could and the ones that run through at the top are tucked out of sight. The ones that power the kitchen down lights are visible at the back but with everything in the cupboard you don’t see them.

    Superb stuff! Are the lights dimmable and if so - do they dim in brightness or in warmth? I'm looking for 4500k spot lights that don't dim to warm 3000k but rather keep the same 4500k. Thanks

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  Рік тому +1

      Thank you. They’re not dimmable so just on/off. We have other lights that we can use to make it a bit darker in there so quite flexible, just no dimmer switches.

    how high and how deep are the upper cabinets? i'm struggling with mine :/

      They’re about 35cm high and a bit deeper than that. Quite big but needed the space!
